This is where the fish lives. This is where random Twilight crap lives.
If you have a complaint about Twilight but it's not enough for it's own thread, post it here. If you heard a Twilight soundtrack song in a grocery store, post it here. If you had a small encounter with a Twifan but it isn't drama llama enough to be put through the Bullshit squad (obsolete anyway), post it here. Any random Twilight related happenings should be posted here.
ETA: Even if you think it's important enough for it's own thread, chances are there are already threads about it it's probably not. Post em here!

My main complaint about the series is that fanbrats tend to think anything with the words "twilight" or the character's first names are automatically ripping off of Smeyer's book series. It's so bad that I can't even read William Gay's Twilight without people interrupting me or trying to throw the book in the darn recycling bin.

Even today I still wonder how the hell Meyer thought the concept of 'imprinting' was a good idea. Seriously, how? I'm not just talking about the creepy implications here either; it seems like a lazy excuse not to write actual character development and lets her say "Oh they're soul mates, take my word for it!"

My friend Edward wants to dress up as a vampire for Halloween, and my flat-mates are encouraging him. They already have shit-tonnes of glitter for other reasons. I can't be seen in public with a "vampire" called Edward.
On second thoughts, do I emo up and be Bella? I have a long dark wig....

I think Eclipse is officially closed from the Box Office. It hasn't been updated on Box Office Mojo since Oct.23rd. it's made about $300,530,000, and was in the in theaters for 16 weeks.

What is with those stupid covers?!
I thought they were nice for the first books . . . than came a cook book, philosophy books, a history book, the cover remakes for the Classics (Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights), an illustrated guide, a bible, the SAT guidebooks, the Bree Tanner "Novella" . . .
ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Goddamn it, make it stop already! I swear I will kill those publishers that decide to shit out another "Twilight" cover with the idiotic black background with some random red object. It's not creative anymore, guys, it's just showing you're riding on the coattails of Meyer's "success".

Fucking hell, that's long. It completely dropped out in the UK before mid-August, and we got it a week later than everyone else. The only films I can remember being out that long are a couple of the Harry Potter films (I remember seeing the first in late February 2002 at some point) and Lord of the Rings.

I was forced to read the twi-related book cover of Wuthering Heights for my lit class last year. I also don't want a twi-related book cover when I get my book published because I think the covers are kind of tacky.

Insanes, Stop saying Eddykins/Cullens can beat everyone. Ed beating Ash? Possible, but not likely. Ed beating Alucard? Far fetched but not impossible. The Cullens beating the X-Men, JLA, or Avengers? No.

Ed beating Alucard? Far fetched but not impossible. In Ed's case? Nope, He'd be gone in 5 seconds flat. Alucard can get his rhead removed, steaked, and everything else and he still lives. They wouldn't beat ONE group at the very least, especially the JLA (which vary in number but Unlimited shows it has a HUGE number).

Avengers has had the majority of the Marvel Universe as a member.

I think SMeyer made her vampires stronger and faster than anything else just for the fact that she could say "My characters are better than yours! NAH NAH NAH!".
She forgot the part where she made them sparkle and everyone makes fun of them for that reason. If Edward came after me, I'd be laughing all the way to my grave. And that beats strength and speed EVERY TIME. No fear, no power.

I thought the Meyerpires were made near invincible was so that, in her mind, nothing could impede their happy ending. Hey, if Bella's her self-insert and she becomes a vampire, Meyer would want to ensure that what her author avatar turns into would be near impossible to kill.

Today I was in line at the local Subway with my brother and we were discussing why doesn't any of the tv stations do a Twilight Zone marathon for Halloween. And this 14/15 year old girl sitting near us goes. "I know right I would LOVE if they did a Twilight marathon that would make Halloween parties so much better!" We just stared at her with a wtf look on our faces and then I said. "Twilight Zone...not Twilight." And she kind of said "Oh..ok. But someone should still do a Twilight marathon." And you can tell my brothers trying not to laugh at that, when we left we did have a good chuckle about it.

My friend at work told me this. She and her brother were waiting at the bus station and some guy was standing by them with a "I Heart Vampires" hoodie. Her brother went up to him and said "Really? Let's just take that off and get you a decent coat, ok?". The kid just gave him a look and walked away. Then he said "I don't understand GUYS liking that vampire shit".
Then she went on how she really hates vampires and how it seems to be everywhere. I asked "You mean like Twilight?" and she rolled her eyes. I had to laugh!

Since this topic may create more discussion than just random occurances, I'll make a it's own thread on Sexism—on both sides—in Twilight, then move these posts in there. Cool?

I hate the fact that twilight was my favorite time of the day and Meyer took the word away from people like me.

I hate the fact that twilight was my favorite time of the day and Meyer took the word away from people like me. ^ Pretty much this. I loved that word... until Meyer ruined it. I also hate it whenever Twihards mistake The Twilight Zone for Meyer's overrated slap to literature's face. I also can't stand those Twi-inspired book covers. Ugh. I don't always judge a book by its cover, but I prefer it if the cover art has at least some kind of relevance to the main theme of the book. I absolutely fumed when I saw this cover for a new edition of Jane Eyre that I actually blogged about it: jdaydreamer.blogspot.com/2010/07/another-twilight-ish-cover-this-time-on.html Just look at it: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41smx0A3hpL.jpgNow look at the Twilight cover: letterstotwilight.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/twilight_book_cover.jpg STOP WITH THE ALBINO-ISH SKIN AND THE FLOWERS AND THE BLACK/WHITE/RED COLOR-SCHEME ALREADY! Ahem. Sorry for the Caps lock outburst. Just had to get it out of my system. I feel a lot better now.

Why can't they start stealing from classical paintings or worse yet from magazines? Anything is better then seeing the same crappy idea on YA book covers.

Not a rant about Twilight, but... I'm not really sure that Bella using big vocabulary is something that makes her superspeshulawesome wanna-be. I mean, personally I use large words constantly, and I spend half a conversation explaining myself to people.
-shrug-
BUT OH MY GOSH, AT MY LOCAL BORDERS THERE ARE NOW TWO SHRINES TO TWILIGHT. WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS STOP?

Anyone heard anything about Twilight-related pepper spray?
...Or is it simply a brand of cooking spray I have laying around the house?
I need to stop watching Law and Order marathons... >_>

Why do some Twihards not understand that someone could genuinely dislike their beloved series?
I have a friend who is really into Twilight. We share an interest in the Harry Potter series, and a few other books, so she's convinced that I would be into Twilight with her too if I just "give it a chance."
I've never gone Anti on her. I don't want to seem disrespectful of her right to like whatever she likes. So when she says something like that, I invariably reply with, "I did give it a try, and I don't care for it" or "It's not my style" or even "I don't have an interest in the romance genre at all."
But it just... doesn't work. It falls on deaf ears. She's not rude or nasty about it, it just doesn't compute. Next time she brings the subject up, it's like my saying no never happened.
I don't spend a lot of time with her, so I can handle it, but... ugh. No one likes any series universally. Understand this, please, Twihards who don't get it yet!
