Not much more to explain than that.

Important question: Does it snow in the mountains of NC? If so how much. I looked at data, but I need verification from people.

I live in SC and people go to NC to go skiing during the winter, so yes it snows in the mountains there. It snows in the mountains in SC too.

Ah! My favorite thread is back!
Anyone know anything about elephants? I specifically need to know if calves can be aggressive towards one another.

According to an elephant infancy life cycle I found, it shows that males aren't very aggressive and will play normally with other calves. But the females engage in more friendly and aggressive interactions.
Now, I need some help. My book features a cult that is stirring up trouble. I need some ideas as to what kind of trouble they are causing. What they're doing needs to be big enough to disrupt the balance and link between our world and the realm of the dead, as I'm calling it. Any ideas?

Trying to talk to the dead? Resurrect some historical villain, like Hitler?

bringing the dead back to life is generally considered a big no-no.

The Hitler and resurrection idea is good. Thanks a lot!

I like the "bringing back the dead" thing especially, since it's such an easy way to make villains more sympathetic.

That's interesting. Sympathetic how?

Your seven-year old daughter was killed in an accident a few years ago, due to your negligence. Your guilt spirals downward into insanity and you ultimately join/found a cult to try and bring her back and give her the chance at life you were partly responsible for denying her. The more secrets of unlife you unlock, the more you realize that bringing her back will jeopardize the balance between life and death, and potentially lead to catastrophic consequences, but you press on anyway, convincing yourself that you'll be able to bring her back while still keeping things in balance, or that bringing back just one little girl won't upset things too much, or any host of other rationalizations and justifications. You just want to make up for how you'd treated her in the brief time she was alive. You just want to give her a chance to grow up with the loving father she should've had, and live the long, full life she deserved.

Hmm, I never gave that a thought. That's an excellent idea. I've never really experimented with sympathetic villains before. Now here's my chance. Thanks much!

I need a list-like thing of some modern slang terms (Nothing too outrageous. No one really says "fo' Shizzle", amiright?) that someone from the 1860s wouldn't understand. Conversely, I also need a list of things they said in the victorian era that a would leave a modern person scratching their head.

Does anyone know any good websites to find info on Celtic and Gaelic mythology? I have found plenty of books on those two things, but I am having a hard time finding a good website about them.

Quick math problem! How many years ago was the year 1600? Traditionally, time travelers check the date by finding a newspaper.

Ask Lovrina, I was sure she did some work into that particular mythology at some point. Not even I could find some websites for that. I've found more books on the subject for fairies. But I think I've forgotten almost all my research if it wasn't fairy based.

To questions really:
1. What are some good Jazz songs? (I need both a happy/uplifting one and a sad/melancholic one.)
2. If a young woman, who plays a lot of tennis and sports, was to hit a grown man with a shovel in anger would it be enough to knock him out?

As Cracked has recently informed the internet, if you've been knocked out longer than five minutes, you probably aren't waking up. As for who'd be capable of doing it, probably anyone if they hit the right spot. The head's pretty important and shovels make for pretty effective weapons.
