Around what time period were comas first diagnosed/discovered, or at least made known in the medical profession?

Anyone at all familiar with Youkai? I ask because one of the vampire species in my story are somewhat based on Anime-style vampires, and in fact are cousins of Youkai. What are some typical powers and weaknesses usually possessed by Youkai? So far I've got shapeshifting and creating illusions, and being kept at bay by holy symbols and objects.
For the same reason, does anyone know much about Jiangshi, the Chinese hopping vampires?

When a federal agent is kidnapped across international borders (in this case, from America to Egypt), what kind of response can be expected from each of the applicable departments (Interpol, local units in the applicable countries, etc.), and what legal issues and/or other such problems, if any, would the parties involved have to contend with during the search? I have a general idea, but I want to get the specifics right as much as possible.
And on that note, assuming that some limited breaks in realism are acceptable in terms of technology, magic, and the like without being too blatantly unrealistic, how might such a kidnapping be possible, albeit difficult to pull off?

I’ve started work on a James Bond/Harry Potter crossover fic where, without spoiling too much, M witnesses an attempt by a group of escaped Death Eaters to kidnap the muggle Prime Minister and immediately tries to stop them, killing one of the Death Eaters in the process. Aurors arrive soon afterward, forcing the remaining Death Eaters to flee, and M’s memory of the whole incident is subsequently modified, but Kingsley Shacklebolt realizes that the escaped Death Eaters may still target M as revenge, so Shacklebolt and the muggle Prime Minister agree to a specific arrangement to have the Aurors protect M without violating the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
Based on what’s known about both universes and how the standard security procedures for such a case might work in reality (minus the magic of course), what kind of arrangement would work for this purpose that would appear plausible enough for M to cooperate with Shacklebolt and the Aurors without them having to reveal their magic?
HARRY POTTER TIMELINE: Roughly around the epilogue of Deathly Hallows.
JAMES BOND TIMELINE: Daniel Craig continuity, post-SPECTRE, pre-No Time To Die.
