"..." Villulv paused for a few seconds before turning too face Allison, and say: "Once. And he wasn't that kind at all, he wanted me away from his...rock, that happened to be in the middle of the forest." said Villulv. "So not actually nice people, he had nice music, but he was very rude." "You haven't met anyone?" 'What about me?' She wanted to add. Villulv's eyes widened, he stared at her. "I never considered you one of them...but...I...if you do, you are the only one that's been nice." He smiled.

Thomasson had stuck around, he lay down as well beside Sergei. He'd not wanted to go home at all, and now he didn't have to.

Sergei blinked. It seemed one of the boys had stuck around to keep him company. He frowned for a second. Why would he ever want to stick around with me? he wondered, My thoughts are impure and my mind is blackened. Why should he want to be with me?
He smiled a little. In spite of all that, even in spite of Sergei's vows of isolation, he did like the idea of having a companion. He looked over at the boy, locking eyes with him.
"You didn't have to stay, you know." he said.
He stared at him for a few seconds longer, a shadow of a smile creeping up on his face. He hadn't meant to let his eyes betray his words, but he knew that while his mouth was saying "you didn't have to say" his eyes were saying, but I'm glad that you did.

It was comforting to know that she did have a friend in this world. Mother, father, brother, the other slaves, they were all family but this was a true friend. She continued to walk with him confident that he wouldn't betray that trust.

It was comforting to know that she did have a friend in this world. Mother, father, brother, the other slaves, they were all family but this was a true friend. She continued to walk with him confident that he wouldn't betray that trust. Villulv smiled back at her, then noticed that they were about to now go downhill again. They were about to enter a small valley that would probably take an hour or two to navigate through. He looked at Allison and nodded back. The hills were a constant battle of going up hill and down hill, when going down hill, they would once and a while come across streams or areas that seemed to a haven for animals, once or twice, they found holes in the mountains that they dared not explore in fear of what might be lying in wait. At last, after a long day, they stopped at the foot of the hill they intended to climb tomorrow. The area around them had dry ground, and plants of many different shapes, sizes and colors grew around them, or rather, they were closer too the stream which flowed downward from some unknown hole in the mountain. Villulv, after setting up the fire said, "I'll find us a deer. I'll try and be back as soon as I can." He looked at the sun, "I should've hunted earlier, now it's getting dark." He looked at her and smiled. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it. We might have to stay here for maybe a day in order to make you something better than those rags, and prepare all of them meat so we can travel with it."

Allison was amazed. Her home in the frozen lands was nothing but ice, snow, and water. The plants captured her eyes with shades of green, red, and blue. They were like the shops in Sariah with so many differently colored plants in their clear glass windows except that now she could actually touch them without a guard telling her to 'move along'. She picked up a red flower and... Wow! What an experience! So soft, so fragrant, so cold!
Wait... Cold?
She looked at the flower in her hand to see that it was getting little pieces of ice around it. None of the other flowers had ice on them and this had been cool when she picked it up. What was going on?
She decided to wait for Villulv back at the area he went off from. Pushing the strange happening aside she thought to other things. Maybe in the morning she could go and gather fruit from the trees. She knew which ones to pick from her runs to the market place. Maybe when Villulv got back he could teach her how to hunt. Oh, and the new clothes he promised to make! She was excited about that prospect. Maybe even clean herself up instead of just getting a pail of water sloshed over her head.
She missed out on so much under the Ronnes. It was a good thing that she ran from them.
"Where is Villulv now?" She asked out loud.

The Deer did not fear man in the dark, for the darkness was the Deers cloak of which it wore to save itself from the cunning predator.
The Deer had antlers that he wore proudly, as last fall they'd won him a mate, but this year, they looked more magnificent than the last. The Buck drank from the water's edge, ripples distorting the reflection of the moon's pale face.
But tonight, the darkness would not disguise the Buck.
Villulv was bemused...and confused, it was dark out, but he could see...
He looked at his reflection to see two shiny lamps staring back at him. He backed off a bit, and held onto his face. What am I becoming!?
His thoughts then returned to the Buck across the stream, drinking unaware. Even in his panic, Villulv was stealthy and quiet, unless he wanted to be heard, he was not.
He pulled the bow back, an arrow with red feathers attached. He let loose the arrow which twisted it's way towards the deer, hitting it in a glistening eye as it turned it's attention to the sound of the bow, killing it instantly.
Villulv looked at his reflection again, and sighed. I wish I knew what was happening to me. I really do.
He pulled the Buck onto his back with surprising strength and walked back too the camp, making his steps once again announced son Allison knew of his arrival, the fire for a moment making his eyes shine like an animal's.

...BAM. The fox was hit straight in the heart. The creature stumbled and convulsed a little before finally collapsing dead.
Brianna smiled, "You did it!" She heard a rattling sound and looked around. She saw a rattlesnake near her foot, and it was about to strike.

Allison caught the glow of his eyes against the flames briefly. It was a bit like the look of young Artischefenrir that father killed in front of her when she was younger. She didn't know what to make of it.
Her eyes traveled to the work of his hunt. A large animal with huge horns on its head. He carried this heavy animal by himself?
"Do you need any help Villulv?" She asked as he hauled it's carcass forward.

"A bit, I'm going to be storing most of the meat, would you mind cooking a bit of the Venison while I do that?" asked Villulv. "Tomorrow, I'll get to work on making you some new clothes, hopefully, by the end of the day, they'll be ready and we'll be good to continue on."

"Sure." She said as she looked for a sharp rock to cut open the buck.
She went about carefully skinning the buck with a sharpened rock. She peeled back the skin and muscle until she finally got a hold of a bone. A loud snap rang out as one of it's ribs cracked off. A good knife if properly treated.
After she had given the skins to Villulv and prepared the meat she noticed her hands and some of her hair had blood. Another reason for new clothes. They are filthy.
"I'm going to the stream to wash the blood. I will be back soon." She said to Villulv.

"Brandon, you've managed to prove to me that you have basic hunting skills. Also, you saved my life when I was unarmed. Good for you!" Brianna hugged him tightly, then kissed his cheek. It wasn't long before Brianna took her bow back to kill her own fox.

"Thomasson." Sergei repeated. He nodded, "I'm Sergei. Sergei Ektuse." He looked back up at the sky, eyes uncertain to say the least, "You should be glad you have parents. I only have Father." he glanced at the boy, "He's not my real father. He's just a minister. Everyone else calls him father, so I call him father too." he looked back up at the sky, "Must be nice to have parents that don't kick you out of the house for having a blackened mind."

"Actually, Sergei, they do much worse than that. They yell at me for things that can't be helped, such as the amount of rabbits I can harvest, and they're too sick to beat me". Thomasson looked to a patch of mushrooms that he'd not noticed before. They glowed slightly in the dark, and were a yellowish color.

Allison walked down to the stream.
"Hmmm. Water! Maybe I can. I have to try."
She focused on something. Something joyous. Something pleasant. then she dipped her hand in the water. It was cool at first but after a few moments turned cold.
"Ich deed het! Ich deed Koelmagi! " she excitedly exclaimed.
Granted it was only changing the temperature of the water but to do something like this with no training from her parents was indeed an accomplishment. She couldn't wait to go back and tell Villulv! Washing her hair out she imagined his reaction to this news. Then she briskly leaped up and strode proudly back to Villulv.
"Villulv! Guess what?" she shouted joyfully after reaching the camp.

Villulv had just finished storing the meat for long travel, using certain minerals to help keep it from rotting, but it wouldn't help much.
"Yes?" asked Villulv, curious at what his friend wanted her to guess.

"Those who have dark minds. The ones who allow their thoughts to wonder and dwell on things that displease our God Rah'fan. Those who let their minds linger on dark things, rather than on the light. Children have to be beaten to keep their minds focused on the light. That's what father tells me." he closed his eyes, "In the end all of the pain will be worth it. I'm sure of it. I'll be rewarded for my suffering one day in the life beyond and the people who let their minds stay dark will rot in the earth." he closed his eyes, "That's what father tells me."

Sergei frowned, "Rah'fan works in strange ways." he said, "Eventually the people whos minds are clouded by darkness will be cleansed and people who have endured the proper amount of hardship to keep their minds free of dark thoughts, they will be rewarded." he closed his eyes, "One day our rewards will be great. "Could you show me?" He asked. This girl, without any training, has uncovered the lost powers of her people that usually have to be taught. Villulv knew the definition of talent, he knew it from the first time he'd ever held a bow, and Allison definitely had it to pull of such a feat.

She walked back to the stream in giddy anticipation. She still couldn't believe that she could use Koelmagi without anyone telling her how to! Now to do the same trick twice. Just remember what you did before. Focus on something good and stick your hand in the water. Then maybe you can move on to better stuff!

"See? I can do it!" She exclaimed pulling her hand out of the water. "Now maybe it only starts off like this but after a while I can freeze the Reusachtigemamo with no problem! I will become a great ice mage and- and- and... It is really cold now."
It was that time that she noticed her breath. It wasn't cold enough for that or at least it wasn't a minute ago. Her hands didn't warm up like last time. Even worse, the cold was spreading across her body. She couldn't breathe as well.
She fell on the ground shivering.
"It's cold... It's very cold!" She managed between breaths.
