Does anyone here like Fallout? I've been playing with the idea of possibly doing a Fallout roleplay. All I really know is that'd probably be set in the Arizona Wasteland, and the basic plot is a group of vault dwellers being sent out to scout the wasteland, to see if it's possible to survive outside the vaults. And the Legion will be involved, cause Fallout: New Vegas makes it clear that they pretty much conquered all of Arizona.
I'm not sure if I'm ready to "lead" an RP though (considering I've only done 2 RPs) and I'm not sure if I have the time. But just seeing if anyone might be interested.

I fucking love you right now, Fiery Firefly. I want to make babies with you regardless of the fact that we might not have the right genitals for the baby making.

Now I feel really bad, cause as I said before I'm not sure if I have the time, to plan this out. I only have an extremely loose idea of what the hell I'm doing.

Because of the influx of post apocalyptic OOCs, I think I'll put mine off for a bit, and try to figure out how to make it unique, compared to the others.

Name: The Velvet Room Genre: Videogames, Drama, Action/Adventure Plot: The Velvet Room; it is a space between dream and reality, between mind and matter. It is here where the paths and journeys of many start, cross and even end. Alas, we regret to inform you that you cannot truly begin your patronage of our humble establishment until you've entered into a contract. When that happens, we look forward to conducting business with you in the near future.
In summary: an rp centering around the Velvet Room from the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei series. Anyone up for this?

Gonna see if I can drum up interest before I even try to put up an OOC (after all, Regency still needs to be made *pointed jabs at everyone to finish bios or at least put stuff up*). So with everyone else I've been referring to this as a 'think tank', trying to push up some creativity for myself, mostly with characters, and if we want to USE those characters we figured out that would be cool but it wouldn't be necessary of course - just kinda cool. Okay. Name: TBD (help appreciated) Genre: Monster Movie, Survival Horror, Action, Drama Plot: A bustling city on one of the coasts of America suddenly finds itself under attack by strange monsters of all sorts. The citizens of the city have to survive and try to rebuild society around this, while not knowing much about what's going on outside of their city, where they are an isolated incident.... Influences: Godzilla, horror video games, RFF, and all of us really

I'll probably join.
Also, space-based superhero game. Would there be any interest in one?

"Space-based superhero"? Are we talking like Green Lanterns and Silver Surfer... or like the times the X-men are dealing with the Shi'Ar or when the Avengers are fighting the Kree?

Closer to the X-Men and Avengers, honestly. Maybe even a little Planet Hulk in there. My idea so far is that we play as a group of heroes-in-training from an academy (a la Avengers Academy or, hell, Xavier Institute) essentially on a field trip to learn about the various cosmic empires and what not- and how to deal with them. Issue is, something causes the ship's warp drive to get damaged while in a far off galaxy- which basically means they're having to make stops to repair the ship's drive.

Okay, so they're not cosmic level superheroes like Green Lantern, Silver Surfer, or even Superman who go about the galaxy, they're more street to city level heroes like what we have in Triumph City, just they're on a space ship and having space adventures rather than in a city having normal(er) adventures.

More or less, yeah. Figured it'd be easier to have the characters come from Earth/be Earth-centric.

Only problem I see with it is the idea that we could have alien superheroes.
I'd also probably be up for the monster thing, but I don't really have any thoughts or things to add to it. We already had Pandora City, and that went nowhere.

Hey, had an idea here that may or may not work... mostly because I read War of Honor...
Would anyone be interested in a Political intrigue RP? Could be Sci-Fi setting, or something more fantasy, as preferred.
I was picturing a Cosmic Balance(which itself was StarFleet Battles, which itself is Star Trek TOS) if we went Sci-fi setting, with people playing as governmental figures ordering(and sometimes captaining) ships or fleets to expand/protect their star kingdom. For something fantasy, I was thinking the players would be retiring adventurers(or children of retired adventurers) who now, after having rescued a cursed land, have to protect it and lead the people to prosperity while remaining 'civil' and using diplomacy and guile rather than armies and magic warriors(though of course, you have those to fall back on!). I had a silly idea of it being like a Mushroom Kingdom prequel sorta thing. Before Peach and Bowser, who ruled the kingdoms? Still, other fantasy worlds work for this(it's practically Game of Thrones schtick so I might stay out of Westeros no matter how well it works).
Heck, I could break out the Diplomacy board game if everyone wanted to play a pre-World War(as in only a few years away from the world war starting, if you do a good job diplomatically you can rule the world BEFORE the other nations get traction) nation...
Anyone elses thoughts on that matter?

Anyone elses thoughts on that matter? A diplomacy-based RP in any of those settings sounds like it could be fun, though I'm not sure if a lot of us would have a great deal of interest in the general matter (sci-fi diplomacy, while really cool if done well, immediately puts the taste of 'Star Wars prequel Senate' in my mouth). And I'm not sure if I've asked before, but why not Westerosi Diplomacy? We use the map of Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms as a playing board (I think Alastor linked me one like that way back, so maybe ask him), and kind of as an optional RPing angle, maybe write out the course of the events as the game goes? Like, Say some Lannister forces roll over an important stronghold in the Riverlands, we could write out the ensuing battle and results, if we so chose. Adds a little bit more of a human angle to the fray. The factions would be the North (House Stark), the Vale (House Arryn), the Iron Islands (House Greyjoy), the Riverlands (House Tully), the Westerlands (House Lannister), the Reach (House Tyrell), Dorne (House Martell), the Stormlands (Stannis Baratheon) and the Crownlands (Joffrey Baratheon). Probably more than enough for anyone who wants to participate.

Probably more than enough for anyone who wants to participate. First of all, a reminder that diplomacy without capitalization refers to the act of negotiation, while Diplomacy with the capitalization refers to the board game put out currently I believe by Hasbro/Avalon Hill at the moment(it's been around since the 50s, gone through a number of publishers). I don't think that's an issue here yet, but I suspect with my comments it will become one. The reason why I'm hesitant to attempt a Diplomacy game is because last time, while I believe most of the players enjoyed themselves, we got a little hung up on those who wouldn't post their orders, and a lot hung up on the whole cut throat-working to off the other guy part of the game. Plus, the game itself is not all that rife with roleplaying possibilities, given that it's divided up into turns which take a year(well, half a year) to perform, meaning there's a lot going on that the game isn't designed to see. The reason why there is no Westerosi Diplomacy game is because when someone attempted to do it already and decided that the Game of Thrones could not so easily be captured by the basic rules used in Diplomacy. So instead they have an expanded game. www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/6472/game-thrones-first-edition which... I've never played. I could look into it of course. Actually kinda sounds like fun, if we could get enough players for it. As for a game of Westeros diplomacy(note the lower case), as I said, diplomacy and political intrigue is the major schtick of the setting. Which means that if we try to do it in setting, with canonical characters, I highly doubt we'd be doing it any better than the official story. I'd want to add something unique to the matter, be it by adding original player characters or throwing some kinks into the setting(changing the map, altering who owns what land, etc), which should also opens it up to people who are not as well versed in the Song of Ice and Fire series. Having a game based around diplomacy in a setting doesn't emphasize diplomatic actions(Hogwarts Diplomacy? Marvel Superheroes Diplomacy?) would make the game unique and have the potential to be interesting in my opinion. Having a game based around diplomacy in a setting that is all about diplomacy is an obvious choice that could lead to retreading of old ground. Finally, you do have a good point about Star Wars diplomacy. I'd rather see a Star Trek Settlers of Catan game attempted on the forums than a Star Wars diplomacy. Still, like I said, the idea came from an Honor Harrington audio book I listened through at the time which was quite high in political intrigue and diplomatic farce(both sides were being sabotaged by their own diplomats in order to raise the threat of a war and make the diplomats more important... only for it to spill over into a war that nobody really wanted when neither side knew when to stop the sabotage). I'd be willing to do sci-fi or fantasy(or whatever) for the setting, depending on what the interest of the players is, and I can fully understand if you're not interested in a sci-fi setting.
