Waylon was able to get to the cargo hold pretty quickly, since he didn't have anything to pick up. A short trip to his room to stow away his pistol and knife and he was ready to go. The fighter was mostly silent, mostly because he didn't have anything to say and partly because he was a little nervous. Not too bad, though, he felt fairly confident. Just normal pre-first mission jitters, he figured.

Bryce nodded, coming to a stand as she went about her business. She had never actually owned a weapon outside of her service in the Army, with that only being an SMG, which she never really enjoyed having; even on her persons at alls.
She mainly was planning to rely on her very expensive, very effective implants which were at places considered illegal and unjustifiablly needed; even for the Alliance.
She went into her room and merely changed out of her pants, into a fresh pair of jeans and shirt, as well as another hoodie. She placed her knee-pads on, as well as elbow pads. Her Kevlar vest was useless since it was broken, but this was all she needed.
She joined the others in the cargo bay and smiled at them all.

Kryseis was already in the cargo hold with Wyn and Waylon, making sure her Carnifex handcannon was properly concealed as she waited for the others to show up. Even though it wasn't coming along for the mission, Pistachio still sat obediently by her feet, loyal to the last.

Liam eventually came out, sans his usual coat- a bit of a sight to see. He grinned at those already within as he got ready for them to leave.
"Didn't bring m'coat because that'll attract attention," He explained, feeling a bit self conscious. "Didn't even bring m'pipe."

"Citadel can't be that serious about security that you couldn't be able to bring a pipe?" Bryci asked, proceeding to take a few steps lower as the cargo bay door opened dramatically with their steps.
She'd never been to the Citadel before, atleast not in an instance where she'd like to say she was there again. She had operated here when the the Cerberus operatives had attacked, and again when Reaper incursion had threatened the Citadel.
She'd didn't like what she had to do then, and was slightly relieved to return to the Citadel without seven or eight other Fury commandos on either of her sides. At this revelation, she looked at the people around her and smiled.
"You know this is gonna' sound mushy, but we're kinda' like a family. Only our uncle is more likely to rape us and our father fucked several different women. Like a Latino, and then like... a Quarian."

"Right, but which one's the father and who's the uncle? Although what I'd really like to know is: who's the mother?" Kryseis probably shouldn't have taken the premise of Bryci's comment and run with it but went along with it anyway because, why not?

"Securities been really tight since the Citadel attack remember? Not sure how you can hide Geth parts in a pipe, but since when has C-Sec been logical?" Wyn said.
She started giggling at Bryci's final statement, " On the Flotilla we were taught that we depend on our fellow Quarians for survival, and that your shipmates are on par with your family. At the risk of sounding mushy too... on the Qwib Qwib I never really gave a fuck about anyone other than my parents, and a few friends. But here on the Balrog... well it kinda does feel like a family. The most fucked up dysfunctional family in the galaxy, but a family no less."

"It does feel like a family...Aww, I feel all mushy inside now. Thanks, guys." Despite her words, Kryseis still moved in between Bryci and Wyn to deliver an impromptu group hug, then letting go as though nothing had happened. "What? The moment called for it."

Liam stared at the ladies as they discussed the crew being a family. Perhaps it was true, though he'd never thought of it that way before.
Mostly, though, it just seemed... odd to him. Yes, he'd known them for quite some time, but... family. That was a big stretch. Maybe he was emotionally stunted or something. He cared about them, definitely, but he wouldn't go so far as to say family.
Either way, he was uncomfortable, and it showed.
"I..." He paused, and stopped. "So what are you lassies carryin' with you?"

Wyn was not a particularly "huggy" person, and as Kryseis trapped her and Bryci in a hug, she felt quite crushed. The Asari was no cream puff, and had a tight grip.
"Okay let go 'sis'" she said sarcastically.
When she was released, she answered Liam's enquiry, "I'm bringing this little guy with me," She released a combat drone, and it zoomed around the cargo bay, trying to find the enemy it was summoned for.

Bryci went into the hug, "Oh my God, now we're all gonna' tear up. Eurrybody hug. We need to get it out."
She wrapped her arms around the two as the group hug happened, doing the voluntary 'Awww' for the moment, before she recoiled. She straightened her hoodie, creasing out the wrinkles.
"Not really sure, I guess." Bryci said, almost down the end of the ramp, taking the first step onto the light tones of the Citadel floor, "I just got biotics, I guess. Guards can't really screen that out, or else all the Asaris' would be pissed as fuck."
She sighed, taking a deep breath of that recycled air of the Reaper Weapon that was the Citadel, the recycled air of the Prothean Salvation that was the Citadel. She hated the whole scandal behind the thing, really. Who cares where it came from? It was an object.
She sighed, once again cuz' that's a cool thing to do, and reached into her pockets. She was pre-emptively taking most of the metalic, shiny things out of her pocket that looked suspiciously like weapons.
She owned a lighter, one of those metallic 'click-case' ones, and a small piece of engraved metal that was the remnants of her scorched dog-tags, as a permeneant reminder. It was more sentimental than was necessary, but hey, that shit sounds cool.

Val and Elam, who had done well to evade and ignore the onslaught of emotions they could neither understand nor reciprocate, deftly maneuvered around the rest of the group to take point up front, disembarking from the Balrog without much ado.
"Welcome to the Citadel," Val muttered to himself, taking in a deep breath of the synthetic oxygen tolerable for his Turian physiology and surveying their surroundings.
Even though they had docked on one of the lower, lower-class wards, the Citadel was still much more than a mite mightier than their unofficial home port of Omega; certainly not superior in quality, in his professional opinion, but much . . . cleaner. One didn't have to fear getting run through with the blade of an omni-tool for the contents of their respective wallets, which he supposed was a minor plus.
"Security won't be that tight, especially down here," Elam said to the rest of the group with a nod. "The Geth fucked a lot of things over, but places like this tend to stay the same, even through the worst."

"Oh, well." Bryci sighed, left the objects in her pocket, and just kept walking. Despite the somewhat crater, pock-marked facade of the Citadel from the aftermath of the Citadel attacks, it was still quite beautiful.
The digital sky and aqua water gave the place a fake, sanitary feel, but it also was incredibly beautiful to the eye and warm. It wasn't too cold, nor was it too hot. The air wasn't stuffy, and she didn't require to wear her breathing mask to filter out some bullshit Turian or Krogran crap. That was smart, and pretty funny.

Wyn also found the Citadel quite beautiful. It was one of the first places she had visited once she began her Pilgramage, making it one of the first places she'd ever saw with greenery and beauty.
Of course things were a little different now, with the aftermath of the geth attack. Much progress for cleaning up had been made in the year since it happened, but the damage was still noticable.
"Damned Geth ruin everything," she said aloud to no one in particular.
As they walked through the ward, she turned to her fellow crew members and asked, "Where are we going exactly?"

"Thanks for the Geth, Quarian." Bryci said, a smile on her face, reaching out to place a hand on the Quarian's suit, "A real good racial legacy."
She laughed at her joke, obviously alot more insulting than she would of intended, but the underlying jovial tones were possibly caught. She looked around.
"Yeah, where are we going?" Bryci asked, "We're not going to end up at some club as strippers or something, or like... having to kill a man in an alleyway? You were very closed up with the details on how and why and what these paper or digital or whatever... information was."

Wyn was not amused, " I had to grow up in a fucking bubble, I wear this suit all the time, if I return to the Flotilla, I'll have a life of menial labor, trying to keep a ship from breaking down, everyone thinks I'm going to rob them blind because we dump our criminals in random places... all because some lazy dumbasses who died centuries ago thought they were too good, to do shitty jobs. Trust me, we've paid the price,"
She took a breath and thought over her rant, "Sorry Bryci, I got a little carried away,"

In an affectionate, sisterly gesture, the asari placed an arm around the quarian's shoulders. "Take it with a grain of salt or whatever but...things will work out someday. Have faith. In the meantime, you've got us."

Wyn smiled. "Thanks Krys. I don't know why I'm acting like such an angsty little shit. I guess I've been thinking too much about the Flotilla lately. I need to get my mind on the mission or I could slip up and end up like Bateman."

"It's no problem. Though it would be nice if we had more information to work with regarding this mission." As things stood, all they could do was follow Val wherever he meant to go; Kryseis had never liked the idea of walking blind towards potential danger, which was something that always factored into their work as smugglers.

The group traversed the flat, steely walkways and catacombs of the Citadel's lower wards, noting the ever-present signs of clean-up crews and mechanical tools aiding the reconstruction effort. The Geth attack had done quite a number on the Citadel, but like any great capital, it endured, and strove to rebuild stronger than ever before . . .
. . . which made it perfect to get in and out without much ado from C-Sec, much to the muted glee of Val as he lead the march through a few security checkpoints without so much as a frisking. While Elam, and for the most part, the rest of the team leered about expectantly, readying themselves for some sort of fight, Val was less than concerned for his own safety. At least he wasn't on the surface.
Checking his datapad studiously, the Turian captain licked a taloned finger before pointing it skyward, as if testing the wind. Then, tapping upon the screen of his gadget, nodded soundly.
"We're almost there. Client's this way." he said as he rounded the corner down a rather darkened alleyway, deeper and deeper into the depths of the Citadel's seedier side.

Wyn followed after him wearily, "Something tells me any client we have to meet in a dark alley, is going to be trouble..." she said sarcastically.

Kryseis said nothing, following after the Quarian and Turian into the alley, one hand moving to touch the concealed Carnifex in her jacket to reassure herself as they walked further into the dark passage.

If any of them noticed Liam- who was taking the caboose with Waylon- they would realize that he was beginning to seem oddly... comfortable in these dark alleys. He was looking around at all the buildings, noting every so often various signs of wear and tear, looking for the people all around. It wasn't home, but it certainly LOOKED like it... as all city's slums did.

"Woah, woah." Bryci said, bringing a hand to rest on the Quarian's back, "It's okay. I was kidding, alright? I really didn't mean to offend, I'm really, really sorry."
She wrapped her arm completely around the girl, brought her in for an apologetic side-boob side-hug and let go, smiling, "Ain't all your fault."
She laughed, before she continued down the dark alleyway. Oh, this was so much better than being shot at. Now she could get raped and shot at, all in the one place.

Wyn was getting nervous at all the unsavory people, in the alley way. There were several people who were glaring at her, and she tried her hardest to ignore it.
She could tell Quarian amninosity had gotten worse, after the Geth attack. After all the Quarians had built the Geth. They thought she was responsible for their home almost being destroyed. Of course, Wyn had never seen a Geth in her life, outside of illustrations in history books. But sometimes people were irrational with their blame. She had seen Krogan glaring at Val and other Turians, because they blamed his ancestors for the Genophage.
Wyn spoke up, "Captain why is it when you say, 'we're almost there," you're always lying? We've been walking in this shit hole for several minutes now!"

Officer Bentley McAuliffe was a man who looked as though he were already six feet under, as the old Human saying goes. He was a little fish in a big pond; more accurately, a minnow in an oceanic jet stream. His big green eyes and flaxen blonde shock of hair made him appear even more child-like than he was - at a strapping twenty-two, 'Bent' as he was called was a freshman among the ranks of the Citadel Security force, and it showed all too blatantly.
What he had, however, made this minnow a kingfish. What he had made Officer Bentley McAuliffe a very important motherfucker.
"Officer McAuliffe?"
He nearly jumped out of his C-Sec armor when his name was called. Hell, all but jumped out of his skin. His clammy hand clutched at the pistol in his hip holster, but dropped limply as Elam's Kessler raised to his head, thermal clip secured and at the ready. The breath he took was shaky and coarse.
"Officer McAuliffe," Val said again, moving gracefully before Elam and the rest of the crew as he presented himself to the C-Sec operative formally. "May we begin our transaction?"
The officer nodded, big green eyes darting from one member of the smuggler crew to another. "Y-Yeah . . . yeah, you show what you got first!"
"Of course, Officer," Val motioned to Elam. "Show him what we got."
On command, Elam hoisted the compact briefcase up facing McAuliffe, dialing in the lock code to open it with rhythmic ease. In the case was about fifteen thousand Citadel credits, neatly stacked and grouped, filling the briefcase to the brim. McAuliffe's dread temporarily subsided as he remembered the origins of his purpose.
Val, studying the officer with a cold, calculating gaze, was in no mood for trifling. "And yours, Officer. Don't forget yours."
"Right," the C-Sec officer murmured in response, fishing down into his utility belt. Though Elam's pistol raised again, Val waved him off, a smile building on his face.
Officer McAuliffe revealed a compact disk in a small blue case, no bigger than the width of his palm. Val was practically beaming.

Wyn crossed her arms and looked suspiciously at the disk, "How do we know this is worth fifteen thousand credits? It's information, if we knew what was on it, we wouldn't be paying for it..."
