As Wyn entered the ship, she bolted to the engine room.
Wyn's "bed" consisted of nothing more than a single lumpy mattress on the engine room floor, so that if anything went wrong with the engines, she'd be on the scene to fix it. But right now, her "bed" felt like the most comfortable bed in the galaxy.
She used her omnitool to put antibiotics in her system, and as the obnoxiously noisy engine came to life she was lulled to sleep.
She hoped the captain wasn't going to hold a meeting of some sort about the information. She knew he'd be a jackass and complain about her "sleeping on the job".

Kryseis went back to her usual post at the cockpit, slumping back against the seat as she sat down and absently reaching down to pet her varren as it walked over to greet her. "That was some fight, Pistachio, too bad you missed it."

Waylon wasn't able to do much in the firefight that had ensued, but the rest of the crew seemed to have had things under control. Still, he made a mental note to bring a gun with him anyways. He kept a tight grip on the briefcase full of credits as the crew made their mad dash back to the Balrog, being towards the front of the group.
Climbing the landing platform back into the ship, he didn't rush off for one place or another. He waited, case in hand, for Val to make his way on board. Seeing the Turian taking up the rear, he extended the case out.
"I think this is yours, Captain," the human said with a smirk. "I gotta say, besides the whole 'dead guy' business, this seemed like a pretty successful job."

Bryci felt partially like throwing up, now that the adrenaline and the fuel of war had burned out. Her voice felt raw, and she felt a bit nauseated, feeling the bile rise up in her throat.
It was a psychological thing, really. She sighed, and pushed her fringe back, rubbing her eyes. She hoped that the credits got split evenly. She'd known alot of smugglers to take the large amount for the 'leadership' roles and then give diddly squat to the others.
She was hoping to buy a new vest, preferring something light, but durable, and they were hard to come by. So on the next visit to Omega, she noted, she would need to pick one up.

Liam looked down to the captain and Elam as they headed up the back. The notion of money wasn't really on his mind, exactly, not right now. Whatever money he did get would go to tobacco and booze, as usual. Even if he had no money, well, that would just mean rationing himself, after all.
"Well, that was interesting at least..." He mentioned, and looked around for Wyn. "Damn. I hope the girlie's alright, her arm looked a bit messy back there..."

Elam appeared in the frame of the cockpit entrance, leaning in and giving Kryseis a wave.
"Captain says we're heading to Elysium for some R&R. Says plans have been made, too," he said, evidently more puzzled than he usually was as he professed their superiors' orders. "You know anything about that?"
The Captain himself, after giving Elam his orders, had locked himself away in his quarters. Literally. The door was locked, and reinforced by an exterior blast door. The Captain himself carried the codes for various manual overrides of numerous facets of the Balrog, which made his 'off' days all the more unpredictable. A blast door today, an airlock tomorrow, as Elam had learned the hard way sometime around his first year on board.

Wyn awoke an hour later, to the sudden sound of silence.
She lifted her head up, and looked around in a disoriented manner. Her eyes grew wide as she realized what had woken her up. The engine had stopped. They were just sort of drifting...
"Oh shit, shit shit."
Wyn spent the next several minutes bringing it back online, and as soon as it came back to life, she ran diagnostics to figure out what the fuck just happened.
As the diagnostics began, she leaned against one of the large machines and sighed, "Keelah, is it too much to ask for a little rest?"
She quickly linked up to Kryseis, "I have no idea what the fuck just happened." She interrupted with a sniffle sound, as she cleared her sinuses, "But it's okay now."
She was now way too paranoid to drift off to sleep again.

Bryci had taken at this point, a little time for herself, in her little 'shack' spacing near the armory, made out of neatly stacked panels and a drape, with a small bed in the corner. It involved a shit, shower and a shave routine, and was pretty much the wind down to her day, and one of the few points in the ship where she could get naked, get wet, and think way to much about what pizza feels like slapped against your stomach.
She stepped out of her small shack, in the confines of the armory, where she felt most comfortable. She wore loose, flappy shorts, and a loose, black hoodie, rather than sticking to the confines of her battle gear.
She hung her hair wet, and decided, that a check-up on Wyn was the case. The girl had taken it hard, and any knowledge that anyone had was that Quarian's suits were their life-line, and she had seen that girl take a bullet. It only took her a few minutes of her time to get there, and only a few minutes more than to just check up on the girl.
"'Ey, yo'," Bryci said, entering the engine room chambers, "Where you at, girl?"

"Over here..." Wyn said as she continued running diagnostics, "The engine's being a boshtet..."
She turned around, and noticed how she was looking at her arm, "It's okay. My suit has compartments like a ship, so it's blocked off. When we make our next stop to wherever, I can get material to patch it up" Wyn looked at the purple skin showing through the hole. It was always so weird to actually see her skin, " And normally most bullets can't get through it. But those people knew we were coming. They probably thought they could at least kill me, if they got a few holes in me with high caliber bullets,"
She laughed, "I love how everyone thinks I'm going to die if I have a suit breach. A cold is not going to kill me, as long as I keep i from developing into something more. Like pneumonia. I've had that before. That was pretty nasty. If it weren't for the fact my father is a doctor, and the fact I actually paid attention to him for once when he gave me advice before the Pilgramage, I might be dead right now." Wyn thought for a second, "That probably didn't ease your mind, did it?"

"Did not ease it one bit." Bryci said, grinning ear-to-ear throughout her entire story, especially about the fact that Wyn was going into her personal life, about her father, about his career, about her life before.
It was always weird listening about people's lives, like Bryci was uncovering chunks of people's lives. It was her interest, really. She did like people.
"Hey, I ain't worried about you." Bryci said, gently nudging the girl, "You're a big girl. Got your big girl pant's on and everything."
"I just wanted to check up on you and all. Mutual friendship." Bryci said, smiling.

"Elysium. Yeah I'm on it. And sorry, I don't." Still coming down from the adrenaline high , Kryseis moved to program their flight path and destination, the Balrog already heading for the mass effect relay. "MEJump...Go." And just like that they were launched forth into space, jumping through various systems until arriving at their destination: Elysium.
"Well, we're here." Kryseis rose from the pilot seat, heading toward the crews quarters to her own room to freshen up.

"We're not as weak as everyone seems to think we are," Wyn said, " Think about it, if we couldn't get out of our suits at all, we wouldn't be able to have sex or give birth. We'd have died out a long time ago. Though there's always risks. The clean room I was born in, was faulty, and I got extremely sick after I was born. Nearly died.. My family received quite a bit of compensation, for it though." she laughed, "I've almost died a few times actually. Maybe I should take people's concerns seriously..."
Wyn was always extremely open about her personal life. It came from being a Quarian, who considering how much they had to depend on one another, were extremely open and social. She found it bizarre that the others on the ship kept their pasts so guarded. Though she knew some of them had probably pretty nasty pasts.
"Thanks for checking up on me. I really appreciate it."

"I always think that sex for you guys is like," Bryci looked at Wyn, scratching her noodle, "Like, your suit gives birth to a smaller suit."
She smiled, and pushed her wet hair out of her face, looking at Wyn's visor. It was weird, but metaphorically deep in a sense. One could see themselves in other's eyes, and she wondered if that was what it was like for Wyn and her kind.
"Do you know what you look like without your suit?" Bryci asked, "Or is that rude of me to ask? Sorry, I don't meet alot of Quarian's inside the Army."

Wyn laughed "We've only worn these suits for 300 years. Back before the Geth, we were free to have our heads uncovered on the homeworld." She gave a small wistful sigh,
At Bryci's inquiry, Wyn began fidgeting with her hands, "I haven't seen my reflection since I was in the bubble. So I have no idea what I look like right now. But Quarians in general? We look a lot like humans actually. Except our skin is purple. I've never seen an unsuited Quarian other than myself. It's a really intimate thing to be seen without your suit. Only lovers and the closest of friends ever allow that. I have no idea what the hell my parents even look like, or any of my friends from before I left for the Pilgramage."

There was a knock on the door yet again. Should the ladies look over, they would of course see Liam standing there, his brow knitted into a look of deep burden. It was funny really how such a big man, even now with his signature coat on, could have a tendency to look so much like an upset child with a fake beard.
"Are you alright?" He asked. "I know I've been asking it a lot, but I'm still, ah... rather concerned. I... couldn't help but overhear something about pneumonia?"
In fact for the past half an hour or so since they'd been on the ship, Liam Maddigan had found his way into his own room, had a pipe by the window, put back on his coat, and watched the stars.
It was funny, really. How stars could be like people, sometimes. You'll see new ones, you'll see old ones die or disappear forever. Sometimes you'll find a new one and lose it entirely before the night is out.
Funny.
...Sad.

Bryci smiled, hearing the woman laugh made Bryci feel good about herself. Apparently, she wasn't as alienated from the crew as she thought she was, given the fact that she had only been there for a few months, where in alot of them had known each-other for years.
She sighed, and took a set on an upturned junction. It wasn't major hardware, nor would it bring down the ship to sit her fat ass on it, so she thought it was alright.
"Yeah." Bryci managed to chirp out, feeling slightly awkward in the conversation. She dug too deep, and now she was feeling an emotional response that really wasn't there.
Luckily, however, Liam walked in. The hulking frame of the man was a relief to Bryci, as it gave her a chance to get herself away from the emotionally deep subject of families or home.

At the sound of Liam's voice, Wyn turned around, "Don't worry, I'm okay. I'm just talking about how I've had much worse illnesses. Pneumonia being among them,"
The idea that Liam had overheard so much made her feel awkward. She'd known Liam longer than Bryci, but Bryci was so much more easier to talk o. But it did make her feel good that so many people cared about her.

Bryci dug gently at her bottom lip, quickly picking and pulling skin away as a part of her natural reaction to sitting in a situation. It hurt, and occasionally drew alot of blood, but she never noticed.
"Yeah, but... I think this latest haul has gotten us some moolah." Bryci said, scratching her head and pulling her wet hair back, "I saw the new guy run out and grab the brief case full of money as well. I think we'll be better off now."
Bryci leaned out, nudging Wyn, "And if you need some credits, just ask. I don't ever buy anything other than armor and occasionally something like a new Omni-Game, or even just food we don't have here."

"Thanks, but I don't think that'll be neccesary, unless the store owners in wherever we're going feel like really ripping me off. I don't buy much myself, really only machine parts. And sometimes alcohol. Because the only one other than me who's dextro on this ship is the Captain. I can be pretty disrespectful to the Captain, but drinking his alcohol is a death sentence," she giggled, "I never drank until I joined the Balrog. You need to get drunk sometimes, in order to put up with the bullshit."
Suddenly the diagnostics results popped up, showing there were no problems with the engine. Wyn hit the console in frustration, " So you just shut off, for no reason?" she yelled at it.

"Hey. drinking is fun and all, but eventually you'll get used to it." Bryci said, patting her own chest, "Did a couple of years, uuh, 'service', so I've kinda' gotten use to it, except after every firefight no matter how small I throw up from Biotic use."
Bryci flinched a bit, having not seen Wyn get angry with the engine room until the last second. Had this thing really shut off by itself? Was that even safe? Was that something that a ship floating in space should be doing?
"Hey, hey, Wyn, dun worry 'bout it." Bryci said, placing a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder, "If It's working now, just relax. You can come to that bridge when we cross it."

"Everytime?" Wyn said, " I don't know much about biotics, to be honest. Quarians don't really have them, because if we were to get exposed to element zero we'd be almost guarenteed to die,"
At Bryci's suggestion to relax, Wyn shook her head, "I fucking wish I could relax. I feel like complete shit. I hope the information was "not getting up pimped out" worthy, like you said."

"Information doesn't matter, Wyn." Bryci said, scratching her neck, "As long as we're all alive and together, doesn't matter what we got."
"Oh, come on. Don't you wanna' be pimped out, Wyn?" Bryci looked at the girl, "You get to meet all kinds of people and then eventually you can birth a Turagansaridurpadurp from all the semen you just took."

"You never came across to me as the sentimental type," Wyn said, " I just hope it's worth us almost dying. It must be worth something, or why would those boshtets be shooting at us? Who the hell were they? And you know the Captain will never tell us what's on it. I'm just a lowly engineer and you're... What are you? I know you're in charge of the armory or something,"
At BRyci's final statement, Wyn snorted, "I never want kids. Or kid, we can only have one child per family on the flotilla, unless they're twins. I'd have to risk my life getting knocked up, risk my life giving birh, and then when the kid grows up they'll go on the Pilgramage, and join another ship, and I'll never see them again. Or they'll end up like me, and they spend forever on the PIlgramage, and join a smuggling crew," Wyn sighed, " I hate myself so much for worrying my parents like this. ... I contacted my mama yesterday. She told me she was proud of me no matter what I chose to do with my life... i wonder if she knew th truth, if she'd stand by that."
Wyn couldn't believe she was telling this all to Bryci. She barely knew the woman. But she was so easy to talk to, that the words just spilled out.

"I'm not, It's just nice to have friends, y'know?" Bryci said, shuffling on the spot she had taken, linking her fingers together. "I'm just as lowly as you are. In-fact, everyone on this ship is pretty much shitting in the dirt at this point."
Bryci smiled, giggling to herself, "No, no. I sleep in the armory. If anything, I think the only one on this ship who really is in charge of anything is Elam."
"Hey, atleast you can contact your mother. I ain't seen mine for like, five years." Bryci looked at Wyn, pulling her hood up and crossing her arms, "But hey, I know your mother wouldn't mind. Think about it? Despite the whole, y'know, illegal thing, think about it. You got close friends, a tight knit community, a good job."

"Yeah... I like everyone for the most part. Even the Captain. I find his BS entertaining. I never said that if Anyone asks. At least you get a bed right?" she acknowledged her lowly mattress in the corner.
" I'm not supposed to contact her. We're supposed to do the Pilgramage without contacting our family. But my family and a lot of others, set up channels for communication. Maybe next time I can get the comm up you can meet her. I think she knows I might never come back. When I was a teenager before I left, I was so restless. I got in trouble all the time, cause I was so sick of being cooped up in a ship. I'm just not suited for life on the Flotilla I guess..."

"I think there are actually rooms upstairs, but I'm not sure if they're furnished. I'm not sure, really. I don't like to wander around, I might step on somebody else's toes." Bryci hopped off her little box, and took a stand next to Wyn.
"Yeah, somebody aren't matched for what they're supposed to be. Sorta' like the Krogan with the love for poetry." Bryci started picking her lips, "Is that really a good idea? Introducing your mother to your commando friend on a smuggler ship?"
