Whoopsie-doo. Ah well.
I begin to go right, looking around at nothing in particular. "....So. Let's make sure that I'm not going to die. Do I actually have anything on me?"
I pause for a moment, realize that I have no weapons at all.
"Well. Shit."

"Your adventures? Well, let's see..."
"Splinter taught them," I say, pointing at the turtles. "To be ninja teens. Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines. Raphael is cool, but crude and Michelangelo is a party dude. That proof enough?"

Comic 100!!!!! We should totally have some sort of party or something. Maybe some OOC stuff, with our characters kicking back, having cake, maybe being interviewed... posting sprite sheets of the characters in the OOC thread... I don't know. What's everyone want to do? And soon as I edit for Monokuma, 101. Oooh! edited! 101! Still, no reason not to party! The comic was actually meant to go up this high. I have enough digits to do 999 comics before I have to add another digit. I'm not sure we'll make it that far, but hey, why not? Pity Splinter isn't as impressed as Mikey. But he was asking if you knew VIDEO GAMES(because being genre savvy might be an advantage here), not if you knew the Ninja Turtles show(which may or may not be canonical in this setting). Oh yeah, it's possible that you can hear each other through your pause screen, so Erica there might have just gotten what Meka said. Probably not. Also, Firefly will be phased out soon, but I figured it was too soon to just drop her. Attachments:

"....Wait a second. Did I just hear the tune of--" I pause for a moment. "Nah, nah, couldn't be. Besides, everyone knows that Thundercats are better, anyway." I look up, notice the door. "Okay, okay, Erica, think...did I miss something?"
Cut to the empty room with power ups still in it.
"...Naaaaaah." I hop up to the door and proceed onwards like an idiot.

Given that the doors in Metroid don't react to creatures(or player characters) simply running into them, you need to actually activate them(with an attack, or later in Prime with a visor scan) and you DID say "like an idiot", the idea of bouncing face first off the door amused me enough I had to put it in, even if it's awkwardly 'animated' in one panel. Orcos is a misspelling of Orcus, just as Palutena is a... rather convoluted translation of Athena(or Pallas Athena, or "Athena the Maiden" as near as I can figure what "Pallas" means and why there's a Palu before the t(h)ena). Kid Icarus is not very good at it's mythology being translated accurately. And yes, Cerberus missing is a vital and important plot point that we'll never see again because I just didn't like his sprite and never got around to making one for him. Actually, it's probably not that vital. Still, better he's just missing(Maybe somebody is taking him for walkies?) than the idea that you landed on him and probably hurt the poor thing... "Or the person writing the story didn't like the aesthetics of Cerberus' appearance..."
I mutter somewhat loudly as I poke at the fourth wall with my words.
"So, does that mean my quest was a waste? I mean Cerberus is the one with the shadow power but he's gone."
Somewhat frustrated, I kick at a random rock a few times before finally looking up towards the ceiling. However, there is no ceiling, just a yawning abyss that keeps going.
"Maybe he's further up?"

It occurred to me that I don't actually have any kicking frames of animal. And there wasn't any stray rocks around(why would Cerberus want to sleep on stray rocks? You landed practically in his bed if I remember this boss room layout right). Still, you can say that animation in the second frame is a wind up for a kick, against maybe the pillar or something. I don't know. The emoting in this comic isn't so good. Also, I suppose there should be some stairwell or something. After all, this is how Pit escaped from the underworld. It's supposed to be a two way passage(blocked only by Cerberus), so Nocturne and Firebrand aren't exactly stuck(not that Firebrand couldn't just climb out himself, dudes got wings). They just fell down or off the stairs(which you can not see... they're... uh... painted black... on a black background...) rather than walked down them. Rest assured that exit will become evident when it's needed for plot reasons. Until then you're being encouraged to use the red door to the left, the one Firebrand was heading towards before he realized you weren't going to chase after him and fight some more. Firebrand decided the best way to resolve his issue of "If you win, I'll lead you there; If I win, you'll amuse me." by making it a running battle. That way he's amused, you have a guide, and everyone wins. Attachments:

I remark, more to myself than to Firebrand as I start leaping between the columns, using them to boost myself up towards the higher ledge.

From down at the bottom it might still be possible to see starlight from the mouth of the tomb. Unless of course the background for the set above was solid black and didn't have any stars either... ... I love solid black backgrounds. So easy to work with. Okay, no, I hate them. I prefer a solid color other than the outline of the character. I wonder if Erica and Nocturne are going to meet up... one is wandering a cave, the other wandering a tomb leading down into the underworld... Attachments:

Okay, I miiiight have bitten off more than I could chew with the idea of a training montage. The idea here was that it would show various pictures of the ninja turtles performing various ninja-ish moves(in so much as the ninja turtles have ever had ninja-ish moves in their video games), interspersed with our heroes attempting to replicate the moves with noticeable failure at first, then hints of growing competency. ... and instead we have Leonardo running through a single frame with various moves, followed by the same frame with our heroes mostly failing it. Heck, I even wanted to use a custom tiled out forest background, but didn't have the time and wasn't really in the right headspace for that. Besides, the only thing really wrong about these trees(from the NES Frankenstein, which itself is sorta a Castlevania game) is that it's supposed to still be daylight. Well, I guess the montage would be taking place at various hours, some daylight, some evening, some night... but since I'm working on single frames that didn't turn out. And this point marks the point where Firefly is being removed. She's not dead, and if she wants to return I could give her a flashback of how she got where she got. Basically Toby(having "abandoned" her and Rayjack to the moblins) saved them with 'dagger from the sky!' they finished heading to the Great Fairy, Rayjack was restored, Firefly learned the song of restoration, and since then the six(four heroes of Kings Knight, Firefly, and the Fairy) of them have been chilling by the fairy pond. Possibly literally as they might have gotten locked in crystals or something. Attachments:
