So, however you feel about him, good or bad, here ya go. You all definitely seem the sort to read 19th century Russian literature.
The only thing I've read by him is The Idiot, which I'm not even a quarter through (a bit after the Prince meets Nastasya Filippovna). I just started it the other day. It's a bit dense, but quite fun. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Prince's monologues--especially the ones on capital punishment--, as well as everyone being dicks to each other. (Though the whole fake, social-climbing attitude is a bit depressing for me, however fun it is to read, but that's completely immaterial to the book's merit.)
Any recommendations on other stuff I should read by Dostoevsky?

"Crime and Punishment" definitely. Strong themes on Morality vs the Ubermench, or Superman. The writing is crafted to perfection. There is great emphasis on the protagonist's internal conflict.
