Just watched his review of Exorcism II, I've never seen the first one [or any of them, for that matter], but this one seems hilariously bad...sort of.
I'm still surprised that Doug didn't make a Futurama joke, considering that the antagonist of the movie was Pazuzu XD.

I don't watch anything Exorcist related after the first one. After that one, I had nightmares for MONTHS. MONTHS. I still can't even look at a picture of the girl without literally crying and freaking out.
Yeah, this review I'm avoiding. Waiting for the next one to come out.

^I think itd be fine, I saw the review and the movie itself looks pretty stupid, much less even scary, I don't even think the author even acknowledges it.
Or you can by chance just listen to it, and have a different tab open.

My apologies for bumping this thread up.
I hate to say this but I really think Doug's really lost his touch when it comes to the Nostalgia Critic. I found his Star Trek special to be pretty awful (his Star Trek III review is probably one of the worst reviews he's ever done) and his Ponyo review was pretty terrible. The cameos were poorly written in, the jokes were horrible, the Ham joke was funny at first but then he proceeded to just beat that joke into the ground and as for the review I just found him to be just nit picky. The funniest thing in that review was the reference to Majora's Mask and I find that to be pretty sad.
Pretty much all the Nostalgia Critic does nowadays is recycle old jokes, go into rage fits and really just nit picks instead of providing actual criticism. The only thing I saw out of him recently that was decent was his review of Patch Adams.

Star Trek month was a bit lackluster. I usually like Doug's reviews because he usually shows a lot of in-depth knowledge about the film and behind-the-scenes information that helps to broaden out the critique. I didn't see that with the Trek films. Doug seemed to be approaching the Trek reviews as a casual Trek fan with not a lot of knowledge and information about what was going on behind the scenes of these movies. That's not exactly a bad thing, but it left some rather gaping holes with his reviews.
Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but when you review Trek it's good to know what's going on within the Trek universe. The Star Trek universe is so vast and intertwined, it's a little hard to review one Trek movie as just one movie instead of looking at how it interacts with the whole.
And yeah, the Trek III review wasn't that great. I might be biased because I like Trek III, but I don't really consider it to fit in with the Trek Curse. It's a good film that bridges Trek II and Trek IV really well. Just think of those three as a trilogy and Trek III fits in just fine. It's a little hard to review Trek III as a single film because it's not a single film, it was meant as a sequel and ends up being the bridge between two of the greatest Trek films.
SF Debris does some awesome Trek reviews, he really knows his Trek and has a good rating system for how he judges both movies and shows. Redlettermedia also has some hysterical Trek reviews as well.

At the end of the review he said he liked STIII. And I'm surprised I found another sfdebris fan here. His Evil Janeway is awesome.

Evil Janeway and Captain 'Duchess' Archer crack me up. I also love how he hates Neelix as much as I do, and constantly refers to Dr. Pulaski as 'The Gorgon. But yeah, I saw how Doug liked Trek III, I was just saying that Trek III in general is a bit of a hard film to review as just a singular film or trying to fit it in with the Trek Curse. I think that out of all the odd numbered films, Trek III tends to get less criticism.

Yeah, I agree with sddebris that the real formula for bad Trek movies is if the main characters sing in it. Doug noticed that too.

The Scooby Doo review did have me suspicious that this might be happening soon. He mentioned on an interview TV Tropes did with him that he would eventually retire the Critic. Even if he isn't my favorite of the TGWTG crew, I still enjoyed his show and he's the one who led me to try some of the other reviewers when he did crossovers, leading to me discovering my favorites. I respect him for ending it when he wanted to and not milking the character dry due to popularity, though.

This makes me really sad. But the new project sounds really interesting. And I'm glad he isn't running the character into the ground, just cause people like it.

It's good to see that Doug is smart enough to quit it before it becomes stale and boring, and that he still has great projects for the future. ...But never hearing "I'm the Nostalgia Critic, I remember it so you don't have to" on every wednesday ever gain... The thought makes me feel rather... empty...

He bought a friggen studio! I SO am gonna ask if he and crew wants/needs extra writers. I was amazed to hear that. Congratulations to him! That's awesome! It will admittedly be weird not watching NC every Wednesday, though. It was a part of my routine. Still glad he ended it on a high note, however. I look forward to Doug Walker's next project. From what little we know, it sounds fun.

I respect him for ending it when he wanted to and not milking the character dry due to popularity, though. Same here. However, I will admit some of his reviews the past months have not been his best (some were great but some were bad). I am glad that he is making the decision to not continue it just because it is popular, and I hope that his future projects go well especially since he bought a studio.

I'm surprised that the Star Wars Holiday Special wasn't on his Worst Movies on NC list... I guess it falls under the So Bad It's Good category like The Room?

FOR REAL!?
...YEEEEEEESSSSSS! I MISSED HIM! It was so weird having no Nostalgiaween or Nostalgia Critic Christmas eps last year. I didn't hate Demo Reel, but I could never quite get into it. EDIT: Granted, it had less to do with the show and more to do with my dwindling amount of free time lately.
Maybe we'll finally get a Brows Held High crossover after all.*crosses fingers*

Holy SHIT. HOLY SHIT. ...Christ, after seeing how Doug ended the Nostalgia Critic, one must wonder HOW bad this movie is if it's enough to spur him to come back.

Given that he's removing the cutoff date restriction, I'm curious to see just which recent movies he'll be going after.
(Though for older films, I'd like to see him take a crack at the James Mason version of "Journey to the Center of the Earth".)
