The staff has decided that it is indeed time to change the name of Twilight Sucks. This shall be the official thread to suggest new names for TS. This thread shall remain open until March 2, 2013. After which, it shall be locked and a new thread where people will be able to vote on the new forum name shall be created. The second thread will be open for about one week.
After that, the five options with the most votes will be placed into a finalists thread. The forum name with the most votes in the third thread will become the new name for this site.
Rules for suggesting names
1. You can suggest as many names as you want 2. The name can be Twilight Sucks: With Subtitle or you can suggest a name that is not related to Twilight.
And a piece of advice: Remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) and keep in mind that we want to continue to have a focus on literature.

My suggestions: "TS: Surviving Literature" "TS: Literature -- The Good, The Bad, and the Dull" "TS: A Survivor's Guide to Literature"
Basically keep the "Tongue-in-Cheek" attitude of Twilight Sucks.
EDIT: I included the acronyms of "Twilight Sucks" just to remain SOME of our old identity.

"Modern Literature and Other Monsters"
Borrowing a little from Roger Ebert while keeping a bit to our current title: "Your Book Sucks"
"The Company of Logic"

My suggestions: "Surviving Literature" "The Good, The Bad, and the Dull of Literature" "Survivor's Guide to Literature" Basically keep the "Tongue-in-Cheek" attitude of Twilight Sucks I like your second one...or maybe it could be literature: the good, the bad, and the ugly

Well, I decided to use a website name generator as a last resort and I put the two key words: literary critique and got some of these:
- Crititure (Critique and literature in one word) - Criterature
Ok, well those sucked.

I think that if we rename it, it should either be a mini rename, or a full rename, but with the same initials. Pretty sure we're all still gonna call it TS no matter what. But alas, I doubt changing the site name is gonna do us much good. You just need to ADVERTISE. :\

I agree about advertising. I can guarantee there are still at least SOME people who'd still want to discuss the fail of Twilight, in addition to other stuff.
I also think that if we rename it, we should still keep all the Twilight boards as they are now. There's WAY too many posts for it to all be grouped underneath "Romance" or "Stephenie Meyer."

See, it's not just that. If we keep the name and actually TALK about the features of the site (literary critique, strong fandoms and community, a writing help section, an RP board, and clubhouses), then I think that could bring in a lot of people by itself. Instead of keeping all that stuff, why not just have one big board labelled 'Twilight' with the information about it being 'The site's original usage, snarking and discussing the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer' and moving all the boards we HAVE for Twilight into it as sub-boards?

...Really?
Changing the site's name isn't going to suddenly produce activity. Nor is it going to bring in many new users.
HOW ABOUT WE LISTEN TO WARRIOR OF LIGHT AND ADVERTISE THE SITE, OLD CHAPS.
also we originally left v1 because they look at the site at around 1000 members and higher. We're very close to that number.
Do we WANT to hop forums again?

Do we WANT to hop forums again? Don't we already have advertising? We must, since we have so many members. Sure, we're very close to getting to 1,000 members but the problem is that half of those people no longer use the site. Hell, there's probably even staff members that don't go on it anymore. I agree that we shouldn't hop to another forum but I think there's SOMETHING we're doing wrong that's making so many members leave. Hell, what happened to Wolfgod, Pandora, SlaveforVamps, Nintendogal53 and all of them? There must be a reason all of them left. And yes I know the Twilight fad is done, but they clearly posted a lot in other sections that have nothing to do with Twilight. Even if the fad is done, what's stopping them from posting in the other sections?

I left TS for two years because I got busy with school and modding another forum. Its very possible that many of the people who left got caught up in life. It happens.
If anything changing the name will simply confuse people who want to come back.

We're still coming dangerously close to that. Life and a lack of interest. 4chan and Something Awful we ain't. They left to form another board because they weren't fans of the staff and took a good chunk of the users with them. Simple as that. Lack of interest.

We could do that, so as long we keep "Twilight: The fanfiction" grouped under its own sub-board rather than under the fandom.

I can't offer name suggestions, but I definitely agree that advertising is our best bet. As for changing forums, well, as long as there is some link here to the new forums like the first to the second. I remember that it took me forever to find here when the second one was closed.

What I would prefer to do, if the decision is made to change forums, would be to simply change the URL for the forum (meaning changing the tsdcv3 in the url to something else). If I did that, proboards would re-direct to the new url when someone typed in the tsdcv3 url. If we change the name of the site, it can make advertising a bit easier. I know that I can personally advertise TS on the proboards site through the Forum Directory. Proboards also features one forum a week, and I'll try to get us featured on that. One way I know I could advertise is if I could get a hold of Mars and have her update the TS Updates twitter.

Or you could keep the url for old time's sake, which would make the transition to the new format, whatever it might be, possibly easier. (Pretty sure updating to Proboards v5 can be done while keeping all the current content.
If people are going to continue calling it TS, that might let people after the transition have an idea why.
'course, for a name suggestion, I'd propose something along the lines of "That Sucks." XD

(Pretty sure updating to Proboards v5 can be done while keeping all the current content. Yep. The update to V5 will keep all the content, the only thing that would change would be that the themes would have to be recreated. Just so everyone knows what we're talking about. V5 is the latest update to proboards. I've been working with it on whats called the Betazone. This is the link to the Betazone version of TS. TS qualifies for the update already, and I hope to go ahead and have the forum updated in a few weeks (probably during my spring break). I'm also going to make this thread the official suggestions thread. I'll post more there about proboards V5 and if you have any questions about the update or suggestions for how to promote TS post them there or PM me or another staff member.

I was just confused about people talking about the forum moving. It's possible to change the name of the forum without having to relocate, but the URL would stay the same, as far as I know.
