After some time of building the world I think it's playable, I'll make the finishing touches it needs while the players are still in the beggining. If you need the first clue to the lodestone, I'll give it in the OOC thread, the clues after that will be in PM.

So, where are our characters as they start? "Your party meets in a tavern" sorta thing, or... what?

Start out at your own starting point, you can be on your own or be in several different parties, the map I made I kinda... Can't upload(Blasted laptop)but imagine the mountain as sort of a wall(Quite a broad wall) between the elves in the east and the humans in the west, with small villages and a hold here and there scattered around, I can't really describe it in detail, but imagine it like normal mountainous region and you'll get the idea. I left the towns and villages for start to the players cause they don't really matter much+the fact some dwarves are nomads.
There are three holds that are truly considered large and powerful and are something close to a real city
Argent Ward - A city in the west, first a small fort as to protect a trade route with the humans but quickly expanded into the powerful citadel you see today, currenty held by self-proclaimed dwarven king Angantyr who wishes to unite all the dwarves.... Under his banner. He despises elves and has allied himself with the humans in their war effort against them.
Stone Spire - A city in the east this one actually started out as a single tower, slowly however due to the soon discovered abundance of natural resources it developed into a city, it's widely known for it's library and sorcerers, it is an independent city that doesn't follow the system with cabals and it's residents are pretty much free to follow their craft as they please, most of them become wizards though. Sanctioned dark magic is allowed here. Magocracy - ruled by a high council of the greatest mages with an Archmage chosen by them. Currently no news from there, the city has sealed itself from the battles, it's walls and gates enchanced by protective sigils into near invincibility, nobody goes in or gets out, supposedly it's a paradise inside while famine and destruction rage outside.
Exile's hold - A place where a bunch of outcast criminals have gathered, consider this a fortress taken over by bandits, thugs and so on, under the rule of a bandit chief known simply as the Axe(He doesn't share his own name and demands everyone call him The Axe), he is quite large for a dwarf, and extremely strong uniting several dozen of outlaw clans and small factions together into a sort of his own kingdom of exiles and fugitives. Renowned for the massive steel axe(Stolen of course) he carries. His loyalty is bought by the elves

So... we choose which of those cities we start in? I mean, with Stone Spire having a "no one goes in, no one goes out" that kinda locks what kind of adventures could be had...
Also, shouldn't the description of those city be part of the world building part of the out of character thread, while this is more for the personal interactions of the characters? Just trying to figure out how you want to run this.

yes, but if you get distracted by a little brother like me, such menial things remain unnoticed . Actually you can jus make up your own village or something and place it somewhere, and start in it they're as I said small and don't make much difference

I don't really have any useful starting place.
Wallcrest sat at the table in the common hall of the village and drank from his tankard, listening to the other dwarfs talk. He'd been doing his usual duty, wearing his full armor and shield in deference to his position though of course his weapon had been laid by the door with everyone else who had entered. If a fight broke out, Wally was ready to restore peace to the hall, by smashing heads if need be.
