If you were given the choice of having one Hallow - which one would you pick and why. I'd pick the stone but I won't explain just yet, I want to hear your opinions and what you would choose.

Assuming I'm a wizard, I'd pick the Elder Wand. If I'm still a Muggle, definitely the cloak. Personally I don't think Jo did a good job of explaining how the cloak is the superior Hallow, since it can be fooled so easily and you can get actual invisibility through other means.

I never got the big deal about the elder wand. It can make your spells a little more powerful, but not like any kind of overwhelming advantage, and it can easily backfire on you considering how it works.

Why don't you just keep shut about having a wand that gives you extra magic power, it was said it's hard to track so if you have it and don't talk about it - done, nobody wil go after you because they want your superwand. Dumbledore did it and it worked for him. How come nobody else figured that out

I never got the big deal about the elder wand. It can make your spells a little more powerful, but not like any kind of overwhelming advantage, and it can easily backfire on you considering how it works. I thought it was implied that it would make your spells a lot more powerful. Snape said to Voldemort "you have performed extraordinary magic with this wand" (paraphrasing). To which Voldemort, "no, I am extraordinary", implying the wand makes the normal wizard extraordinary. And it's only shown to backfire if you're an idiot and advertise your super wand, or if you're like Voldemort it's not your wand. It only backfired on Voldemort because Harry was its true master, not because of some flaw with the wand itself. Dumbledore did it and it worked for him. How come nobody else figured that out I guess it's the whole "power corrupts" idea. People either wanted to let everyone know they're a badass, or in the case of Gregoritvitch were advertising that he was going to be selling super wands.

Well Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald who had it, and they were implied to be close in power. Voldemort didn't really seem all that more effective with it than without it. I probably wouldn't guess it gives more than a 10% boost.

We don't know all the details with Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald though. I thought he had some other kind of advantage, like maybe he tricked him into drinking some kind of poison. And it didn't give a power boost to Voldemort because it wasn't his wand. It's only super effective if you're it's true master.

Yep - and Voldemort didn't technicaly kill Snape, so the snake was the real master

Invisibility cloak. I'd like to be able to disappear sometimes.
