Leah: The Search Chapter Seven is now up for viewing on my livejournal. The woman in the fist panel is Randi Matheson (née Wallace), the lead protagonist of the FANTASTIC and short-lived show The She-Wolf of London aka Love and Curses. Haven't seen it? Well you should; it's a cult favorite for a reason. No one guessed the reference for the last installment, but what the heck- here's your shiny nickel anyways; Cole Sear and Carol Anne Freeling have WAY too much in common for me to not pair them up together. If you're still confused, please click on this link: www.imdb.com/title/tt0167404/And here's the one for The She-Wolf of London www.imdb.com/title/tt0098909/You're all darlings for being so patient, and I will do my best to get the next segment out asap.

GAH! I should have seen that coming! Who else WOULD she be fit with? Geez...
But still, loving this! I can't wait to see what they discover!
And that's right, Leah. The guys you knew may be total asshats who can't do a decent thing for another person without rubbing it in or showing off or expecting things in return, but there are people out there who do the right thing because it's RIGHT and not because they can get something out of it.

I'm happy to say that Leah: The Search Part 8 is now up on my livejournal.
Please read after viewing the chapter:
The mark on Leah's forehead is the Elder Futhark rune Uruz, which has connotations of manifestation and raw power. I'm really not that smart about runes, I got the idea of dimensional rune-travel from L.J. Smith's Forbidden Game Trilogy (if any of ya'll are interested in further info feel free to google runes) Yes you read the name right; Leah will be attempting to speak to Loki in the next segment. I know the concept is a bag of cats but hopefully it'll turn out alright since he is my favorite mythological trickster. Hope you enjoy, feel free to ask me anything.

Wait--Loki? Damn, should have figured when they first mentioned Tricksters, but I couldn't peg him as the one behind it all. What reason would Loki have?
Guess we'll find out.

^Maybe one of the Quilute werewolves pissed him off. That's usually the case with curses and supernatural beings.

It's Loki. Going off the mythos on him, one didn't even need to piss him off to get him to pull something on them.

Leah The Search Part 9 is now up on my livejournal. I think this is my favorite installment so far, and I'm very proud of how the artwork turned out, but don't take my word for it- see for yourself and let me know what you think, and I'll explain anything you need explaining.

"[...] I imagine they will not owe much longer if you are their representative." Well, they're royally fucked.
I really like Loki's dialogue. It sounds very in-character (this coming from someone who's only watched the Thor movie and The Avengers movie). I can also see how the Thor comics helped inspire Loki's design (which I'm not complaining about because Loki is just so pretty~). Overall, I really like this installment. I also really like how Leah sees through Loki questioning why he'd answer anything Leah asks since HE was the one who decided to respond instead of ignoring her (which he had the power to do).

Gods have big egos. Acting obsequious is generally a good way to get on their good sides.

But you gotta love the shocked look he gave at her actions. Granted, Leah could have dressed better, but given what constitutes as "well-dressed" in Meyerland, I have to wonder how he'd have reacted if Bella or any of the Cullens had been the ones to confront him instead of Leah.

*does a little happy dance that her comic was well-received*
I hope none of you were really into the idea of Loki being the cause of imprinting, but I felt it was important that Leah get her footing before finding out who was responsible.
WriterWannabe, I'm glad you liked Loki's appearance. The costume and look were deliberately copied from Tom Hiddleston's version of Loki. Whether he is specifically the Marvel Loki I leave up to you; I copied the appearance because 1) T.H. is just that awesome, and 2) the mythological Loki has been young, old, a man, a woman, a horse, and ugly as well as beautiful. Sometimes painted buck-naked. Marvel's Loki-look was the safer of the choice (and possibly the cooler). I knew from the get-go that I really wanted Leah to push beyond the limits of Forks and its nonsense and be able to prove herself worth more than the idiots therein. She is the antithesis of Meyer's suffocating idea of everyone being all but literally chained to one spot in life, loyalty and immortality. As for Loki's behavior, though he is one heck of a bastard, his portrayal has always been sympathetic. To me, Loki is desperately insecure and has never had anyone willingly humble themselves on his behalf, not only that but I'm convinced that someone who is constantly sporting that Boss B*tch Swag of an outfit even on his worst hair day wouldn't take kindly to grubbily-dressed visitors.
CN, I'm really not sure how any of the Cullens would have fared in Leah's place- none of them seem to have ever needed to subject themselves for a greater purpose. In the movies we're constantly watching people who grovel get portrayed as cowards (heck even Bella's pleading for Edward's life in New Moon was nothing but high-pitched shrieking followed by her bargaining with cards she didn't hold aka 'take my life not his!') and yet how often in real history has the groveling of someone been worth it? A lot more than you'd think. I consider embarassing yourself for a greater purpose more honorable than running your mouth and hoping your cheekiness will amuse them. But I digress... I'm guessing most of the Cullens would have attempted a patronizing version of reasoning (which I'm convinced MarvelLoki would have scoffed at if not reacted violently towards), Bella would only have been there if Edward's well being were on the line and probably just stared blankly and asked a couple idiotic questions (ughpleasekillher) and any of the werewolves besides Leah would have put on some aggressive front. Thank heavens she's representing them I guess.

^That's good to know. I actually kinda like Loki, so I much prefer him not to be the cause of the imprinting.
Maybe it's just me, but I had an image in my head of Bella finding out about Loki and the Norse gods and wanting to be one as well because they're a step above what she is, much like Edward was back when she was human. Would have loved to see how Loki would handle THAT one.

I adore Loki, and since I have a feeling he's going to redeem himself in Thor 2, I'm really not interested in painting him as the bad guy in my comics. Like I said, he is a huge bastard, but even if he weren't eye-meltingly HOT I'd still be a fan because he is very sympathetic...kinda like the insecure, partially nutty relative everyone has to deal with. I'm sure Bella would be willing to suck up if she could become a god too, but seeing as Loki is so far gone he's willing to murder his own brother I doubt Bella'd last a second in his presence. Although...if Edward were as handsome as Tom Hiddleston Bella's mind-numbingly aggressive infatuation would make a lot more sense. I'd totally stalk T.H. if I lived in Hollywood...ugh I'm such a weirdo.

Strangely enough, I kinda found him sympathetic at points as well. But he's a trickster, a prankster above all else, so I think that if he was going to pull any tricks in this situation, it'd be on the Meyerpires and other wolves for being so damn full of themselves. And so unbelievably lazy.
Yeah, let's just let an unknown force we don't understand or know anything about determine our relationships to the exclusion of all else. That sounds exactly what love should be like. *Sarcasm*
....SIC 'EM, LOKI!

Latest chapter now up for viewing. I'm honestly not sure if you guys will like this one; it's very indicative of drama, and I won't be addressing it for several more installments, you've been warned. Ask anything you like though, as usual. Aaaand back to work I go!

Update!
Please read after viewing the latest entry:
Yes I know that Kokopelli looks kinda like a na'vi or whatever from Avatar, but since his appearance was kinda up for interpretation and I wanted him to look like a bug, red made him look like a bull, green and gray made him look like an alien and yellow made him look like a lizard so I chose the blue mesh. The avatar similarity was unintentional. Idk if it's obvious what just happened in this segment but it's not too hard to guess. Kokopelli can be googled, feel free. Most of you will probably recognize him from incense holders and t-shirts in supermarkets; he's a very marketable trickster. You can thank my complete Calvin and Hobbes collection for help with the desert background since I didn't have any pictures on hand but spaceman spiff always has some nice southwestern backdrops, so I took tips from that, lol. If anyone recognizes the angry ghost in the last panel, I'll draw you a picture of him. No hints this time though.
Back to work I go...
