I don't think Rob is *actually* ugly, he just doesn't present himself very well. That hair he had a few years ago was simply hideous. Unwashed and unkempt, he seriously looked like he crawled out of a dumpster. Have you seen his hair recently? Half of his head is clean shaven while the rest of his hair is still pretty long. He looks pretty disgusting in his Comic-Con photos.

I read a bit of it, and that's the biggest load of shit I've ever read. And why exactly do the teenage girls who identify with Bella have to be white? That's incredibly racist, and no girl of any race identifies with Bella. And how the fuck are they articulate? Sorry, does saying big words without knowing what they mean suddenly articulate? This writer certainly knows how to do that, and he is just the opposite of articulate.

Rob was definitely cute when he was playing Cedric Diggory (even if he looked nothing like Cedric in my head). Lately he just really needs to take a shower. It's the same for KStew. She is a lovely girl, but she needs to stand up straight and try not to look like someone just shot her puppy. Her hair is even looking nice these days!

Too lazy to printscreen then upload so!
From Breaking Dawn p. 423:
Edward snarled out a dark laugh.
Sorry? How the hell do you snarl a laugh? Snarl when you're pissed like a feral little monkey, laugh when you hear something funny. Scoff when you hear something ridiculous. Meyer PLEASE!

And how the fuck are they articulate? Sorry, does saying big words without knowing what they mean suddenly articulate? This writer certainly knows how to do that, and he is just the opposite of articulate. There's a famous Mark Twain quote that goes "Don't use a five dollar word when a fifty cent word will do." Using big words doesn't make characters look smart, it makes them sound pretentious and stilted. I specifically remember in Eclipse Edward is talking about the newborn vamps and he says something about how no vampire is taking responsibility for the "neophyte." And my thought was not "Oooh, look how smart Edward is for using an SAT word!" It was "Who the fuck uses the word 'neophyte' in casual conversation?" And then my brain answered that question for me by saying "pretentious douche bags and idiot authors." By the way, when I first started writing up my stories I did that all the time. At least one word per sentence was put into the thesaurus for a "better" word. Of course, I was twelve at the time.

^There were also quotes from other authors like George Orwell going, "Never use a long word where a short one will do" and "If it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out".
It's amazing how she still had the galls to use large font and long, run-on sentences and not make it to a thousand pages for every book.

LOL at large font. Yes, for all it's pseudo pretentiousness and thesaurus rape, that font is just so ridiculous. I mean, really?

^She also raped trees with her "I'll make the font so big for those who hate the really small font and so that my words about Bella, Edward and eternal love stand out more!" HURR DURR antics! I still can't forgive what she did with New Moon's blank pages. It killed trees, man. Tree huggers must cry at the thought.

Can't be bothered to start a thread but there is now a blog for Twilight confessions on Tumblr: twilightconfessions.tumblr.com/Some of these have got to be trolling because one says "Before I saw the films, I thought Bella was blonde". Congratulations on your reading skills.

If Edward wanted to fight in WWI so badly, why didn't he lie about his age? Both of my grandfathers lied about their ages to go fight in WWII, as well as plenty of other young men. Why didn't Edward?

Lip service. I've been using that term a lot, but it seems to be a fitting phrase about the Twilight series. That's all these characters (and Smeyer herself) can do: just TALK about it, but never go through with something. It gives the impression that Edward is this stand up guy and not the selfish leech he actually is.

As I've mentioned before, I work in a cinema, in the main foyer, the trailers for upcoming films are played on a loop.
The new Breaking Dawn one is on, and it frustrates me to no end when there isn't enough noise to drown it out. To make it worse, it follows the trailer for Puss in Boots, which I actually like the look of.
Oh, and let's not forget that my bosses have been putting me constantly on the concessions stand, so I hear this every time I'm at work lately.
On a side note, the Fright Night T-shirts have a line on the back, 'Seriously... I'm so angry you think I read Twilight.'

So on that movie "Crazy Stupid Love", when Julianne Moore's Emily said, "When I told you when I had to work late? I really went to go see the new Twilight movie by myself, and it was so bad.", I loled.

I guess this falls under "random crap." From notalwaysright.com:
(I am checking out at a local book store and the clerk recognizes my book, Howl’s Moving Castle, and decides to makeconversation. There’s another customer behind me in line. She’s in her mid-40s.)
Clerk: “Oh, I loved this movie, but I didn’t realize it was a book!”
Me: “Yeah, it’s one of my favorites! The book is so much better than the movie. It gives a whole new perspective on everything!”
Clerk: “Then I’ll be sure to check it–”
Customer behind me: *eyes full of excitement* “Are you talking about Twilight?”
Clerk and me, together: “NO.”

^A shameless plug, thats what this is. Judging by his lack of a profile and no introduction thread alone, I can safely say that this guy stumbled here while googling for twilight hate and through posting here would be a quick way to gain hits on his video.
Unless he can prove me otherwise, this thread should be moved to the graveyard as soon as possible.

My boss likes Twilight! She isn't an uber fan, but she told me yesterday that she enjoyed the books and the movies. She also likes Harry Potter, so all is forgiven.

In Eclipse, the way they have Jake talk during the whole explanation about Victoria's vamped up army. The way he says damn and hell...It just bugged me because it sounded like they just threw the "damns and hells" in there to make it seem more edgy. I dunno, it felt unnatural to me and that's all I could think about during the scene.

The new iPad commercial where Twilight is downloaded as a "best seller." Twilight is no longer on the best seller list. It's on it's way down. And the woman buying it is in her late 20s, early 30s. If they wanted to appear current they should have used The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Or even Hunger Games.

I got my lit test back today (I got a 100, w00t!). The final question was a personal essay where you wrote about three pieces of literature that have had a prolonged effect on your life. My first two were I Never Saw Another Butterfly and Harry Potter. My second was on how Twilight has led me to try and educate girls on the dangers of obsessive love so that they neither aspire to or condone the behaviors seen in Twilight.
All my other answers simply got a check mark. This part of the essay got a smiley face. I think my professor is an anti too.

One of my coworkers is a twihard, maybe a twitard. I know it b/c while I was in the break room, she suddenly yelled out, "Just like Renesmee!" I don't know what they were talking about, but there could be no doubt who she was talking about. Maybe dhampirs? She then said how stupid antis are for hating Meyerpires just because "she changed the lore," saying that everyone who writes about vampires changes it somehow. There was only five minutes left of my break, so I decided NOT to join the "discussion" and politely explain the REAL reason antis hate Meyerpires (that they don't make sense, they're inconsistent, and have more in common with old-time faeries than vampires).
I thought I was being prudent and somewhat wise with that decision, given the time I had. What do you all think?

I thought it was a good decision. Wouldn't want to start a war at work
Anywho, me and my sister were talking about random things and suddenly the topic was raised to Twilight.
Me: Can we just burn all four books already? They just take up space in the shelf. Or better yet, donate them. (And I pity the poor soul who gets those as donations) Sis: No. Me: Why not??? Sis: I keep them there to remind me that not all books are literature.
...I still think we could've used them to warm up our cold room...

Yep, definitely a good decision. You have to work with this woman, no need to make it all very, very unpleasant. Although, pointing out that the change in lore is one of the least offensive things in Twilight is tempting, and watching a Twi-fans face when you slowly and with small words explain the basics of how fucked up it is is always priceless. Trust me, I just did it to my best friend last week. And she is/was only a casual fan.
