I'm sure there's other marching band geeks than me here.

I'm a former marching band geek. At my university we don't have marching band (yet!) because we're kind of small. But we do have a pep band that's growing in size, and we're pushing towards starting a marching program!
At my high school, though, we never had much of a program either. We only competed one year, but now my former teacher finally got his crap together AFTER I leave and had band camp and everything. They've been doing loads of competitions and are going to Disneyland this year. I pisses me off sooo much, because the only place we ever went to were podunk little towns in Eastern Washington where we'd sleep on gym floors. /vent
At my other high school, though, we did lots of parades. And at this one, we did do a fair amount of shows, just nothing spectacular.

This was my first year in marching band, as a freshmen. I had a lot of fun, and am actually kind of disappointed that the season is over.
Licorice Stick, when are they going to Disneyland? Our band is going to Disneyland for a trip, too. April 1-5 to do a parade.

I'm so sad our season's over too. I loved it, and now I wish I had joined as a Freshman.
Our school was supposed to go to DisneyWorld, but our school said no. D:

I was on the color guard this season as a freshman, and it was tons of fun. ;D I want to join drumline next year, unless I get good enough at the clarinet to join with that. xD

If I had joined in Freshman year, I probably would've been in drumline. When I joined this year, my band director put me in pit instead since I had started doing mallet percussion in concert band.

I'm in band. First alto sax for 2nd year (there's one in third year two.)
Next year, we'll get to do more stuff, like more parades and football/basketball games.
My friends and I are probably the biggest band geeks in the school. We practice every recess and lunch and actually look forward to afterschool practice... but we all are first chair for our classes, so, some good things come out of it.

I'm in the marching band at my college. I was also in it in high school. # out of the 4 years I was it we won state finals and it was pretty awesome! I'm a baritone and a music education major. I want to be a band director.

EPICNESS. Anyway, I finished my final season of marching band because I'm a senior going to graduate in June. I don't intend to go to band during my college years, though. I don't think I'll have enough time. I am pushing my little sister to play clarinet, though.
