What did you used to be terrified of but now think it was kind of silly?
For me, it was the scene in The Wizard of Oz with the talking trees, I could never watch it all the way through and always ran out of the room whenever it came on.

I was terrified of talking monkeys in movies, and I thought monsters lived under my bed. My mom convinced me that air freshener was monster killer so I would make her spray it under my bed every night.

Also a movie scene! When, in the Lady and the Tramp, the Siamese cats would come out of the picnic basket sort of thing and start singing. It would strike me with fear and I'd run into the kitchen and clutch my mom's leg while sobbing hysterically, :'D.

Under my bed. I was scared that something was going to grab my ankle.

I was never scared of a lot of things as a child but one thing that does come to mind is The Child Catcher from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he always creeped me out when I was little. I have friend who has many phobias( mirrors, clowns, porcelin dolls and snakes) and he has yet to outgrow them all( he's fine with snakes now but is still uneasy about the rest).

I was afraid the ground would break open and then lava would come out and burn everything.

^Lol. I was always terrified of natural disasters but that was never one of them.
Tornadoes and spiders. Still afraid of the first. I always used to be terrified of tsunamis any time I went to the beach, to the point of paranoia. Still am just not as much. The ocean in general did and still does scare me.

Alien abduction, and other similar cases where your ability to resist is subsumed by a powerful and ultimately inhuman force that desires something of you and has no qualms about taking it from you.
Which might explain my current phobia about big business.
Also, when I'm sick, I'm afraid I've reached enlightenment and may accidentally erase all of known existence, then be unable to restore it.

The crawlspace in the basement. I used to think a creepy man called the Napper lived in their and would come out at night and kidnap me if I didn't keep a nightlight on. After I got over that particular fear I still found it uncomfortable to sleep in the dark. I've since cured myself of that. And up until recently, I was deathly afraid of airplanes. Too many episodes of Mayday had me terrified that if I ever got on a plane I was going to die somehow.

I was scared of the dark. My mom had to turn on a little lamp and turn the closet light on! I'm still pretty scared of it so I've still got nightlights!!! LOL!

The hallway in my old house used to freak me out to the point where I took to sprinting to my room every night. There was nothing about it that was particularly scary, but both my sister and I were terrified of it even up to the point where we moved two years ago.

It's ironic that I used to be afraid of dogs when I was a little kid but now, I love them. I was scared of big dogs because I thought that they bite me but it turns out, not all of them bite people.

The shadow man in my closet. He used to always whisper strange things in my ear as I tried to sleep.
