Purple Rose: I agree. The idea of Leah going to college has long since been a fascination.

Leah actually goes to college, get a degree in medical practices, and comes back to Fork as a sucessful doctor with a sweetie for a husband
Bella and Edward will be divorced, Jacob will be in jail for child molestation, and Sam and Emily would be falling out
I can just picture it

^Now if only Meyer knew jack about science. You know the really sad part about that? I found a medical article about that disease online with a simple Google search. Meyer can't even do GOOGLE to find plausible explanations for her creatures?!

Meyer does zero research and it's just sad. Didn't she admit to only googling when Bella did?
I kind of want to read a fanfiction now where Leah comes back all awesome and successful and everyone else's lives are sucking horribly. XD Does anyone know of one like this?

And it would be very nice for Leah, in a theoretical world where people get what they deserve. Alas, this is not true, especially in Meyerland where "soulmates" get everything and everyone else is shoved off a cliff.

Greaaat. As if my wall didn't have enough head shaped dents already.
Oh, I have a few ideas for Leah's future. My favourite life is where she goes to college, studies to be a cop, gets closer to her step father Charlie in the process, meets Emily's ex, falls for him, gets engaged to him, and then comes back to Forks for the wedding. She makes Sam her best man, and rubs in her happy ending.
What? They rubbed their endings in. Tit for tat.

Oh... Oh wow. I don't know how I didn't catch that when I read the books. Then again when I read the books I was skimming parts just trying to get it over with. XD; So now blood drinkers isn't a dead ringer for vampire. Oh wow.
I would love to see Leah her own happy ending to rub in everyone's faces. Subtly, but enough to drive everyone else crazy jealous, right when all of their happily-ever-after's are starting to crumble. Especially Emily and Sam, more Emily since she actually had a choice and still chose to steal Leah's ex. And then went and asked Leah to be the maid of honor at their wedding, if my memory serves me right.

Can someone link to older fanfictions about Leah? I remember reading one from the very first forums. It was Leah's point of view on Jacob, and how she confronted Bella for being a bitch to him.

Wait, what? The pack members aren't even allowed to think unpleasent things?! 0.0 What if someone thinks about how much he neds to take a dump or something like that?! Do the others ostracize him for thinking things that "make them uncomfortable"?! Excuse me, but Jacob thinks of Bella all the time and he's allowed to do it, because he has thoughts about the main character... where Leah would be deemed selfish, if she ever thought of Sam that way. And there's no fucking consequence for Sam when he cheated on her.

And there's no fucking consequence for Sam when he cheated on her. The irony of this, is that if there was a consequence for Sam cheating on Leah, he'd still be stalking Emily and Sam and Leah would have broken up for good. Then the pack would intervene and kill Sam, and Emily and Leah would have hot cousin romance. ...Not creepy at all, folks.

^ Hot cousin romance?! XDDD We should write a fanfiction of that and send it to Smeyers. She'd probably have a heart-attack.

I'm pretty sure I found it from someone linking it on the old forum.

I remember that Emily and Sam were all right for the one I had in mind, but Sam is a little miffed she has a fiance because in accordance with my theory, Sam still loves her somewhere but can't act on it. Leah gets at him though. She invites the pack, and the Cullens to the wedding just to give them the proverbial finger.

Honestly, having Leah have a meaningful like in anyway shape or form makes her better than all the main characters.

About the having-kids thing. I think it's more about the choice, in the end. For example, at the moment, I don't really want kids. However, if I didn't have that choice due to disease/illness/whatever, I would probably really want them. Options matter. If you don't have them, you want them. And Leah is definitely the only one who deserves complete sympathy from a reader. This isn't to say that other characters don't deserve sympathy, just that they don't deserve as much.

Leah is definitely my favorite character. I hate how she's portrayed as this bitch who doesn't deserve any sympathy. She's gone through a lot of tough stuff; she doesn't need more shit from the fans.

How did TV tropes put it when they listed Leah as "The Woobie"?
I think it says something when, out of all the characters listed for this trope, Leah's portion has the most reasons and is the longest. We can sympathize with her because she's had a ton of shit happen to her through really no fault of her own for the most part, as opposed to Tragic Hero Bella, whose own stupidity and selfishness cause most of the problems she and just about everyone else have to deal with.
And hi again, BB.

^Thank you for posting that (and hi CN). I made that argument with a fan on why Leah wasn't a horrible bitch, that she had (unlike most of them) reasons to be angry and bitter. The response? "I still think she's a bitch"

And hi again, BB. CN! When did you show up?! Long time, no see. Oh trust me, I've seen the Woobie page. That doesn't speak volumes. It grabs volume by the ear, and yells at the top of it's lungs. With a megaphone. In front of a large microphone. That's plugged into gigantic amps. @ Purple Rose- Me and CN had to deal with a fan on the old boards, who said Leah was a bitch for tormenting Embry. Said fan insisted Embry would never have started the arguement because he was nice. She based her opinion of Embry on a fanfic. CN and I agreed she was a troll.

@purple Rose: Hello again. Honestly, I don't know what to think of the fans half the time. She has a point, though. Leah is a bitch. However, she has every reason to be. And to be honest, I'd be willing to bet she wouldn't have been nearly as bitter and angry if the guys had actually ATTEMPTED to be nice to her. Jake's own thoughts about Leah in BD show that the guys didn't know how to act around her when she first transformed and they pretty much 'didn't want to deal' with her or her problems. That seems to indicate that while Leah is the scapegoat of the group, she's not actually the main issue.
@bb: Just recently. Gods, it's been a while. Sorry about taking so long to get back. By the time I managed to get back into things, I saw your message in the other boards right before they were taken down and came here. Hopefully, it'll work out better this time. And I completely agree with your metaphor. Poor Leah. She really needs a hug.

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWoobieTV tropes explains it more, but that's the essence of it. A character that the readers can really feel for. Leah pretty much suffers more than most others in the Twilight series, for no real reason. And despite her attitude that some claim make her deserving of what's been done to her, all the shit she's gone through was really in no way her fault--as opposed to Bella, who we're SUPPOSED to be feeling for, but don't because she causes most of her problems through her own stupidity. Honestly, I don't think Leah was SUPPOSED to be the Woobie. She just ended up being taken that way. But it's interesting to note that the site says "sometimes a Woobie goes Omnicidal Maniac and seeks to destroy the world in a bid to make the pain stop, in which case you're dealing with a Woobie Destroyer Of Worlds. Sometimes it's possible to bring such a woobie back from the edge, but other times, only his or her destruction in a Shoot The Dog moment will stop things, and is usually a Tear Jerker when done well." ...Anybody else kinda wanna see Leah take this route?

CN, I do remember that from the old forums, I do believe it was when I listed the reasons why Leah was angry to begin with. But you and BB had been there longer.
^Agreed. It was ridiculous how no one, not even Seth was capable of saying: Give her a break guys. Like you say, she was used as a scapegoat; no one understood how she felt nor attempted to have a talk with her. And welcome back, by the way.

That's right. I remember that discussion. Though I'd also been gone a while, so I likely missed out on quite a bit as well.
Honestly, it was almost as though they went "Guys, there's a girl in our group now. Lets not help her adjust to anything and ignore her problems, but complain when she won't work with us as a group." Do these idiots know NOTHING? You cannot form a cohesive group that way. Sam in particular ticked me off for this reason. He was supposed to be the leader. He knew this was an issue and he should have done something to work it out and help Leah get along with the group. Instead, he ignored his part in the problem, let Leah be the scapegoat, then had the nerve to send Jared to beg her to come back by using his old pet name for her as though it still meant something. Thanks. Good to be back. I missed this.

@cn- It's fine. I'm just glad the message went through. At that time, our messages were faulty at times. She does. I know we're not supposed to see Leah as a woobie, and Meyer does everything she can to claim Leah is no Woobie. It's still not working. I'd love Leah to destroy worlds, but I'm hoping she wins. Twiworld does not deserve to exsist. I know! The wolves are idiots. They should be injected with a shot of common sense. Glad you're back. Did I tell you about my theory on imprinting during the message?
Purple Rose- Oh! I remember that discussion. Good times. Goood times.
