It is an age of chaos in the world of Pokemon. The ancient pokemon, Groudon and Kyogre, have been awakened, and rage a fearsome, endless battle that scars the earth. The seas rage and tear at the land, the sky opens up and throws buckets of rain and hail at the earth, scarring its face while only the tallest mountains stand defiant against the sky's harrowing blows. Meanwhile the land beyond the mountains have become a parched desert, barren of all sustainable life and where even the most resilient of fire pokemon shrink away in attempts to escape the scalding rays of the ever beating sun. Six long months have transformed all of Hoenn from Paradise into Hell.
This is the world of pokemon. A world where the fight to become the very best has now become a struggle to survive. A world where Pokemon centers and smiling, flower filled towns are a thing of the past, a world where the last of the trainers left alive scruffle among themselves for precious materials; food, water, shelter, safety from the scalding sun and pounding rain and hail. The welcoming towns and cities you once knew have been reduced to wastelands. Barely populated shelters and makeshift homes are the only structure still to be found across the now rugged pokemon world, and most of the wandering trainers have no homes at all. As one of the last surviving trainers you find yourself locked not only in a fight for survival against the elements, but in a violent turf war.
With anarchy slowly beginning to spread, trainers from all walks of life find themselves joining the ranks of otherwise infamously known and feared pokemon gangs. The five teams, Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Galactic and Plasma, are all locked in a fierce battle over land and power, taking advantage of the new, lawless terrain to facilitate their own rises into power, and at the end it is clear only one team will be left standing.
However, in the midst of all this, a mysterious sixth team is on the rise, claiming to have a plan to stop the fighting for good. While the team is just starting, it is amassing new trainers by the second and it's executives are just as fearsome and powerful as they are prone to trickery. This new team, nicknamed Enigma by the masses, claims it has the power to unite the teams in force, but can they be trusted, or are their intentions just as black as that of the others?
The fate of the pokemon world rests in the hands of the trainers now. Can the fighting titans be disbanded? Can the mounting power of the teams be stopped? Player beware, the fate of the pokemon world might just be in your hands.- 1) This pokemon RP is being played under Nuzlocke rules. You may only catch the first pokemon you see in each area, and if any one of your pokemon dies in battle, it is dead forever and must be removed from play.
- 2) Given this, a trainer my opt to pull out of a battle at any time, but must be willing to suffer the consequences of losing, whatever they may be.
- 3) Each player is allowed up to three starting pokemon per player. These pokemon should be either a basic or 1st evolution pokemon and should be used at the digression of the player.
- 4) Each trainer will be allowed to carry one one of a kind pokemon with them (meaning any pokemon that is either a starter or obtained through an event such as Eevee, Castform, Lucario, Tyrogue and so on.)
- 5) No legendaries can be either brought in as a starter pokemon or caught during the game except in the case of a SPECIFIC event that would result in the furthering of the story.
- 6) Just as a general courtesy call, keep things beneath an R rating as much as possible. Detailed descriptions of rape, sexual depravity, or extreme and unwarrented violence should be kept to a minimum.
- 7) And just have fun and don't be a jerk. ^_^ We're here to tell a story here above anything else and to have fun. This isn't about winning or losing. If your pokemon gets killed in battle, ham it up, make long dark promises and start to wear your hair straight and black. Basically, take things like a man and be a good sport so we can all have fun. =]

You can start with up to three if you like (personally I'm thinking about starting with two. This is mainly because one is an Abra who thus can only use teleport and will die horribly if he's my only pokemon) but if you want to start with one and gain two more that's fine. =] Whatever tells your narative the best.

Also, do we have to only keep four moves, because I find the idea kind of silly(In real life), Bruce Lee doesn't forget how to kick in order to us Karate Chop.
Name: Abraham Hadetune Age: 16 Physical description (or picture): I'm actually gonna draw him but here's a description.
His once dark clothing, now withered away with time after wandering the Earth for many months, covers most of his body. He wears a Duster coat, long pants, boots, gloves, and a Fedora. However, without this concealment, he's a pale man with dark hair and deep blue eyes. Personality: Abby, as his friends(who are not alive anymore) call him, is stoic, doesn't talk much and mostly keeps to himself. He's suspicious of others and doesn't fully trust anyone, accept his pokemon. He's obsessed with finding the Sky Pillar, his motive is to restore balance too the Earth, he doesn't exactly do it for the sake of others, but his reasons why he decides he himself must do this is unknown. While he isn't the saintly hero people praise, and his ways of doing things are sometimes rather cold, he still holds high morality and will not become a monster. Backstory: Abraham was an average(Although with Talent and a large a mount of Potential) trainer before the Apocalypse occurred, and lived a somewhat peaceful life, despite being orphaned after an incident with Team Rocket when he was four, he was able to find at least some happiness in life as a Pokemon Trainer. However, after the Apocalypse, he lost all of his pokemon and only had one pokeball, which he used to catch and befriend a Poochyena named Kyra. There are many adventures that Abraham had been on in the first month after the apocalypse, but after that, he spent five months chasing after Latios. Starting Pokemon: A Poochyena named Kyra.
I'm wondering if I should have Kyra be a Mightyena, seeing as Poochyena evolves at level 18, and it's been, what, six months, though, I might have her evolve soon, but for now, I can say that Abraham taught her quite a few moves.

Name: Giovanni (Last name unknown) Age: about 45-50 Physical description (or picture):Personality: Giovanni's work as head of Team Rocket keeps him cold and vicious to all but a few in his personal circle especially his son, Silver, and his pet Persian. Even more so now that Groudon and Kyogre have made such things a luxury. He considers himself a refined gentleman akin to a mafia boss who is as likely to kill you as make you rich. However, he has been shown to go to violent lengths to get what he wants. Backstory: Giovanni was the head of Team Rocket for many years before the Pallet Town trainers began their journeys inheriting control of the organization from his mother after her passing. Not a lot is known about his life before taking the head of the syndicate except that he had sired a son that he left because of his work. During the course of their journeys He had come across the Dex holders on several occasions which ultimately led to the defeat of Team Rocket. Giovanni decided to lay low until the organization would be strong enough to rebuild. Meanwhile a Rocket branch in Johto was revived under the command of Mask of Ice. Mask of Ice had abducted Silver which prompted Giovanni to pursue Neo Team Rocket on his own terms. Silver eventually escaped with a young girl named Green and left to seek out his father by himself. The course of Giovanni's investigation led him to Hoenn where the apocalypse began. Team Rocket had established it's operations in the region while Giovanni continues to search for Silver. Starting Pokemon: Nidorino, Larion, Persian

Giovanni never struck me as the someone whoever cared for Silver, the boy's psychological problems are proof of that.
And when he abandoned Silver too, that's a big one.
...Just saying.

^ Then allow me to turn you to the Manga. Particularly Fire Red and Leaf Green arcs. Giovanni collapses from his disease (A virus from contact with Deoxys)and is carried away by Orm so that he can finally meet his son, Silver. As he rests in bed, Silver finds his father and sulks with disappointment because of the fact that no matter how hard he tries, the side of evil is always associated with him. Silver refuses to accept Giovanni as his father and attempts to leave, but Giovanni quickly stops him but before he can say anything, a power-hungry Carr hijacks the ship and attempts to crash it into Vermilion City. Red has Deoxys use its power to create black holes to suck Silver, his Sneasel, and Giovanni to safety.
Giovanni and Silver eventually exit the black hole, but, instead of a safe location like Red expected, Giovanni instead finds that they have landed near a flaming piece of wreckage from the airship. Giovanni holds Silver up to protect him from the flames; he comments about how proud he is of how he had grown. They are eventually saved by Blue's Rhydon; Silver still refuses to acknowledge Giovanni, a criminal, as his father and states that he should've left Giovanni to die in the flames. Blue reveals to Silver about how he was once like him and manages to convince him to accept his father; Silver then breaks down crying over Giovanni's unconscious body. Giovanni is taken away by Silver's Ursaring to Silver's Eighteenth Secret Base to rest from his injuries. I'm going off of pokemon adventures because it touches on their relationship the most.

Ah. Thanks. That actually sounds like some good character development.
So Giovanni's sort of an Anti-Villain then. Or at least a sympathetic one now?

^ Sort of. He still runs Team Rocket but his immediate priority in Hoenn is to track down Silver and see that he is safe. Plus in the manga Giovanni made a brief appearance stealing the red and blue orbs from the teams which may hint that he was privy to Magma and Aqua's plans somewhat. There's that angle to play off as well.

Name: Tris Valdale Age: 10 Physical description (or picture): Blue hair, matching eyes. Styled like Ethan (Gold) from G/S/C/HG/SS. Has a black bandana that pushes a tuft of hair up. Wears camo khaki shorts, black sneakers, a camo vest, and a black shirt. Has a camo backpack. Personality: Tris is determined, and will stick up for himself when need be. Sometimes he bites off more than he can chew, and can fall back on hard times. Since all his friends died, he has become more crabby, often shouting at people or outright using violence if they piss him off. Backstory: Tris grew up in Johto most of his life, and moved to Hoenn at the age of 8. His favorite Pokemon from the Johto region, indeed his overall favorite, was Sentret. He used to love watching the Sentrets in his backyard, watching them play and occasionally going out of his way to sneak them table scraps. When he moved to Hoenn, he tried to take one with him, but was caught and had to relinquish said Sentret. This made him bitter towards his parents, who then died in the apocalypse. His one regret was staying mad at them for that long. Starting Pokemon: Mudkip called Addis and a Sentret called Ore (imported from Johto for his tenth birthday).

((Imma leave a slightly incomplete one up here for now, once I wanna get back to it. =P))
Name: Bria Rossdale Age: 13 Description: Medium-length brown hair, brown eyes, slightly tanned skin, wears mostly red, with small hints of pink in her clothes. Personality: Most of the time, she's quite shy, but when the situation calls for any friend of hers to be helped out, she'll temporarily rid herself of her shyness and jump right in. She really wants to be more selfless than anything, but can't quite find out how with her shyness getting in the way of things. Backstory: She had just started out her journey across Hoenn when the hellish events started to erupt over her hometown, soon to engulf her. Beforehand, the few friends she had had started their journeys on their respective 10th birthdays, but she chose to prepare for a few more years. She would soon regret that decision once she attempted to start out since the region-ravaging events had begun. The world of simple Pokemon raising, battling and such would be non-existent after having survived the six months of hell. Her Mudkip starter would also seem to be on its last legs already, without a chance to fully grow in the world. Bria had done the best she could to keep him out of any fights, but even trying to find Cherrygrove Town proved almost too much for them. Now, she has barely made it to the town and scrounged up the remains of the Mart's last Pokeballs, just in case anything were to happen to Brian... Starting Pokemon: Brian (Mudkip)

Yeah, we're not using the 4 move moveset rule. It works for the games, but that's pretty much the only place people use it. No reason to worry about it here. =]
And you can evolve her as soon as you want to. =]
@ B-sun *Tears of joy* ='D Pokespecial Giovanni makes me so happy. I love that manga so much.
Probably ought to put my player character profile up:
Name: Toby Dresdan
Age: 13
Physical description (or picture): Toby is a rather average sized boy for his age. He has light brown hair, green eyes and rather tanned skin. He wears a tattered dark jumpsuit that was once navy blue, now worn ragged from the pounding elements. He generally walks around barefoot, having worn out his old shoes from wandering after the apocalypse, and his battered, calloused feet and hands prove that in spite of his youth he'd seen many a difficult time.
Personality: Toby is a very bright individual with a rather high IQ and a penchant for tactical reasoning and survival skills. He has great reasoning skills for his age, and his brain always seems to be working on solving one problem or another. However, for all of his great problem solving skills, he is, because of his background with two psychics as parents, severely hindered in all situations social and in most verbal communication. He rarely speaks in more than one or two word sentences when he speaks at all. As a result most people don't take him seriously and he's generally a bit of a loner. Still, the people that know him recognize his skill as a tactician and as a brilliant fighter in battle.
Backstory: Toby was brought up as the child of two psychics studying in Mossdeep city. In his early childhood Toby's thoughts were constantly open to his parents' interpretation and he communicated mainly simply by thinking. Though he was taught how to speak the act quickly grew to be a tiresome practice when he knew his parents both already knew what he was thinking before he said it, so the practice was quickly lost in his household. In spite of his heritage he grew to be a rather poor psychic, barely getting past the practice of guessing cards and bending spoons, but in pokemon battling he had an edge that none of the other psychics seemed to have mastered. He had a strong connection with his first pokemon, a Raltz named Freya, but his unruly Abra, Baldur, often gave him nothing but trouble. He won most of his battles with Freya alone.
When the apocalypse hit Mossdeep city was naturally one of the first to be entirely submerged by water. Toby barely survived after being teleported to a far away town by a panicking Baldur, but lost track of his parents and after 6 months is still searching. Toby spent the next six months wandering about his new surroundings, rather mute, and alone with his two rather weak pokemon in a rather hostile world. To avoid confrontation with other trainers he mainly keeps to himself, hiding out in a secret base that his Raltz uncovered. He lives as a perpetual hermit generally scrounging for food on the outskirts of town. Starting Pokemon: Raltz - Freya, Abra - Baldur

Nice. Just hope he doesn't have to fight Abby soon. Toby: Raltz, use confusion! Kyra: *Not affected* Toby: Oh snap!

Name: Serena Lauzon
Age: 21
Physical description (or picture): Drawn by yours truly
Personality: Once cheerful and kind hearted, certain events in Serena's past has caused her to adapt to the times. She can be considered harsh and mean, but it's only because she's trying to protect the last remaining remnants of her past: Kaga and Idunn.
Backstory: Serena knows hardship. When she was fourteen, her elder brother was killed because he had given his only pokemon to her for her fourteenth - his Eevee Idunn. She promised herself to never let another person she cared for die because of her, but as fate would have it, she found out she couldn't control destiny. Shortly after the apolocalype happened, she lost her dragonair in a battle, a companion she has had since she was five years old. Since then, she has taken special care of Idunn, along with her vulpix Kaga and tries to prevent anymore deaths from happening, even going so far as to take some hits for them.
Starting Pokemon: Vulpix - Kaga, Eevee - Idunn

Actually, now that I think about it, Professor Oak is actually more evil than Giovanni, at least he has the decency to take care of his kid. The more I look at Oak, the more I realize how cruel, dishonest, manipulative, abusive, and down right evil his character is. There's just so much stuff...
It's obvious that Gary's problems stem from abuse from Professor Oak by either neglect or/and not even acknowledging his own Grandson's existence. Also, the death of his parents might factor in. His treatment of his pokemon is possibly him venting his anger towards his Grandfather at his life's work, the thing he emotionally abandoned his grandson for. There's...just so much more I can cover about this character. Just, if someone does take up Garry/Blue/Green, remember this.

Pokemon creepypasta and morality. A video strangely close to what this rp involves. Kind of is to be honest. o-o I dunno, I'm not gonna argue with that. Let's dive into the realm of questionable morality then u guiez! =D Ohh @_@ Maybe you should be playing Blue/Gary/Douche/whatever you want to call him in this. I'd have to imagine Gary would survive the apocalypse, even if Ash and the others didn't. =P that could be interesting.

Also...can I add Aerodactyl, for the purpose of this sequence. I doubt the two can take on all of the Rocket grunts on their own.
I've actually got a backstory involving the relationship between Abraham and his Aerodactyl that deals with Abby's childhood. I didn't want to bring him in now, but is that okay?

XD We're going with whatever works.
