Just an interest check for traditional RPGs here. You know, like D&D, Pathfinder, GURPS, MAIDS, etc.
In theory I'd be able to GM one of those, however, I'm completely inexperienced at GMing in general. Main drawback of these of course is that you need the books. A rule light system alternative that you can legally get for free is Microlite 74 if you want to try that. It's a throwback to the very early days of D&D.
In any event, any more traditional RPGs that people are interested in playing pbp on here.

I have a Pathfinder group that kind of died after Thanksgiving due to finals. I play a halfling druid with a pet bear, and I'm too weak to actually carry my adventure shit and still be able to move, so the bear carries it. Last time we met, the party accidentally joined the Mob and fought Batman.
...Yeah, it's an interesting group.
I've never found that tabletop RPGs translate very well into an online situation, though, unless you're doing it via an instant message program or other real-time chat client (e.g., mIRC). The game just drags on and on if you try to do it on a forum. Forums are more suited to a style of roleplaying that can be better described as collaborative storytelling.

True, I have seen it done before though. Usually aims for longer posts compared to what would be seen on IRC or such. That said, could also use this as a place to pitch your IRC games you'd GM, or would like to see. TS is a fairly active place after all, so chance of getting more people interested than some other forums.

If this is just an interest check, consider me to have a high interest in the subject.
Mind you, I haven't played a decent roleplaying game in real life in, like, forever... mostly because I can't get a group together these days.
I've played D&D(up to 3rd Edition, the newer stuff I haven't picked up... Advanced Dungeons and Dragons is still my favorite), Traveller, GURPS, Boothill, BESM, World of Darkness(pre-reboot), and I almost got involved in a Five Rings group, but couldn't make it.
On this forum I did a Classic Marvel game that went very well, but the turns and dice rolling slowed things down, perhaps too much. I'm currently running it via instant messaging still, and that works much better(dice rolling can be automated, and I modified the rules so dice rolling happens less often... the taking turns thing still slows us though). Since, for a time, the dice rolling was hanging me up(no way to dice roll in the forum) I tried various diceless systems. The Amber Diceless was somewhat of a success, but requires a bit of set up(the Classic Marvel system also gives you that karma pool mechanic that works exceptionally well for diceless play after a little modification).
I also looked into various old Palladium games, picking up some of the Ninja Turtles rulebooks. One of the mods here is interested in doing a Macross game using those rules. Not sure if he'll pull it off or not.
But yeah, most of those rules systems are good for GENERATING your character, and can be used to DESCRIBE your character, but for forum play by post games the rules usually should superceeded in favor of more flexability. The roleplaying you do play by post is usually very much more like collaborative storytelling than the war gaming with minatures that Dungeons and Dragons grew out of(which is also fun, but again probably wouldn't fit on the forum).
Anyway, if you're going to run one, you have my interest. I'm not entirely sure this forum is as active in that department as it could be though. The majority of the Roleplaying I see happening here at the moment is entirely unstructured. I'm not really into that, but changing it isn't easy.
