The steroid pumped homeless man, wearing a layer of textured rubber tread over his jacket and pants hesitated, his weapon raised, but still quite unsure of himself. He clearly missed the comforting presence of the Rector in his mind, the assurance of a just cause to fight for.
He shook his head again, taking a step backwards and getting ready to run again.

Karma lowered her revolver- not just as Cesspit asked, but because she began to realize that getting injured wasn't going to stop this guy. This guy was in bad shape already- another gunshot wasn't going to hurt him.
"Listen." She called to him, putting on as soothing a voice as she could muster, "We don't want to hurt you, and we won't. Just tell us what's going on, at least- what that explosion a few seconds ago was."

Creeper blew Bright Knight a kiss, before standing. Blood was seeping from the side of his face from his self-inflicted wound.
He stood for a few moments and then looked at Inferno Witch, "Hey, Annie. You know what this is a good time for?'
He looked around, before smiling.
"To pass out from repeated beatings and blood loss." Creeper swayed and then collapsed.
He was bent weirdly when he collapsed, before he woke up a minute later.
"Oh, come on!" Creeper groaned, "Not even five minutes..."
He bolted to his feet, "Elliot just can't catch a fucking break."
He sighed and waddled over to Inferno Witch. He wrapped his arms around the two girls surrounding Inferno Witch.
"You're a lesbian, Inferno Witch?" Elliot, or the Creeper, asked, "I would of taken you for more of a bi-sexual really. I mean, this whole get-up, the fact that you probably bite every dick off you see."

Annie was about to answer the girl when Creeper came over. She frowned, watching his display. Her eye twitched as Creeper made a comment about her sexuality, she sighed, and then spoke. "Let's just get out," said Inferno Witch, "we need to get these people to safety and contact the authorities. You should probably check into a hospital, Creeper."

Creeper let go, and brushed past Annie.
"Why? Don't ya' love me all bloody and manly." Elliot mocked, grinning. He attempted to rub his bloody, flesh-scarred cheek on Annie's.

The freed prisoners were mostly heading towards the exit. They were a good distance into the stormdrain system, but as they only really had three choices at this intersection, one of them blocked off, one of them still with a villain and hero presumably fighting it out still, and one of them which their rescuers came from and others have fled down, the way out seemed reasonable enough that they wouldn't get lost before they found a human sized exit.
As it was a storm drain, there were small vented grates to let water in during heavy rains every so often, but the maintenence access was back under the overpass. (Which right about now Karma and Cesspit are likely investigating, but we've already played out how that went.) The injured who could still move under their own power were already being helped out to the large open grate.
Both of the young women shied away from Creeper with comments of "ew..." and were much relieved that he turned his attention elsewhere. Then they seemed to get somewhat upset that he was focusing his attention on Inferno Witch.
"Why doesn't she just zap him like she did that other jerk?" "I would."
There was a sudden eruption of darkness from behind the curtained off passageway. Within it a massive shape seemed to rise out, and once more Darkson appeared to be standing so tall he almost brushed the ceiling of the tunnel. His voice had taken on a tone of command that could almost be felt down in ones bones.
"Everyone out. NOW!"
((This is considered a presence attack(DarkSon's charisma, plus situational modifiers for anyone being nervous or DarkSon making his appearance startling) against everyone's Psyche score. Also, were this being done around a table or something I'd restart combat and make everyone move within their turn. That's probably not needed though.))

Lady Enigma sighed a bit, walking through the entrance to the storm drain system. How could a city so large and vibrant as Triumph city be COMPLETELY devoid of people to save. It was the perfect night for saving people. There was trouble in the air, she could feel it, and yet it avoided her.
Perhaps she would have to go looking if trouble wasn't going to appear in from of her. After all, as a true beacon of justice it was her duty to uphold peace WHEREVER there was danger or distress. She could have sworn she'd heard an explosion some time ago, but still hadn't been able to find the source.
At last the sound of pattering feet against the cold pavement reached her ears. Someone running? That certainly sounded like distress. Immediately Lady Enigma made a dash toward the source, vaulting through the shadows. There was never time to waste when justice needed to be served.
She spied them. One a large hulking man, obviously a body builder sort with nearly unnaturally large biceps. The others were a younger looking boy, clad in dark leather with hair the color of straw, and a strange looking masked man. Almost all of them were armed and for a second it was difficult to tell who the one in need of protection from injustice and evil was. As it stood she only had one option. Burst in to save the day and hope that whoever needed saving would make themselves known as soon as possible. One of the men mentioned something about an explosion. Explosions were generally bad things. THERE was something to start with.
"What seems to be the problem here citizens?" Lady Enigma asked as she burst into the fray, "Anything that I, Lady Enigma, BRINGER of justice can handle?"
(am I doin' it right yet?)

"Everyone!" Creeper yelled, panic on his face, "We need to ejaculate!"
He waved his arms in the air and let them flail behind him as he bolted for the exit.

The Bright Knight rolled her eyes, but otherwise ignored Creeper. "Get out!" she commanded the girls near Inferno Witch, following behind them and still carrying the Rector.

Inferno Witch's eyes widened, years of training had told her that when someone comes back out of of a tunnel screaming, it's a good idea to make a run for it.
"Let's go!" She screamed to the other hostages. Inferno Witch quickly grabbed the two girls and ran.

As if tonight couldn't get any stranger, Cesspit was left quite taken aback by the dynamic entrance of this new 'bringer of justice', his arms lowering as he glanced with the lenses of his face mask. With one look at her, he could tell the girl was new on the block. Though it had merely been a couple of years, he recalled with nostalgia, the perceived wall of theatricality and bravado he thought had been required for holding the mantle of big league superheroism. Now, however, wasn't exactly the place nor the time for the freshman class to step in.
"I should ask you the same thing," he replied with a skeptical, but not unkind tone. "Something's happened in the sewers. These people are pretty hurt, pretty spooked, too," he returned to his readied stance and focused upon the homeless man with the tire iron. "to put it kinda lightly."

"Let's go! Let's go!" Creeper said, standing near the exit of the manhole. He had one hand on his bloodied body, the other being used to lift the more wounded of the hostages up the ladder faster, allowing for more space.
He looked back, "Bright Knight, is that all of them!?" He yelled, his tattooed face peeking above everyone else.

"That's everyone," replied the Bright Knight, scanning the room to make sure nobody was left. "Can you run?" She didn't think she could carry both the Rector and Creeper, so hopefully he'd be able to make it out on his own.

((Okay, let's sync this up now...))
~~~~~~~~~~(Minutes ago)
Most of the people were already moving towards the exit when the shouting started. So they tried to hurry. In the dark tunnel, running was not suggested, even though, for the most part, there was nothing to trip or stumble over.
DarkSon didn't have time to enjoy his victory in motivating everyone to leave for very long. He summoned up all the dampening darkness he could around himself and while he launched himself forward, he tried to keep himself the last one to leave. Even to the point of grabbing the collar of one of the mutates, the one he had subdued, and carrying the oversized man in his arms. DarkSon would do what he could to shield the rest of them with the power of his curse.
The blast rattled manhole covers and drain grates for a few blocks, but most of the escapees took only enough force to knock them down. Enough to wind them, but not truly injure. The further down the tunnel you were, the more you felt it, the force, the heat. Not counting the Sectoid who's deadman switch set this off, DarkSon was the furthest down the tunnel when it went off.
~~~~~~~~~~~(Now.)
He wasn't actually called TireIron by anyone. He just liked the weight of the metal rod, and had practiced with it since becoming a guardian in the ranks of the Lost Ones. He was proud to accept the blessings of the Holy Ones, and feel his body grow with strength, and most of his armor was salvaged and donated by the other initiates, for which he was quite thankful towards.
When the new Chapter had opened up he had volunteered to join with the Rector of this new chapter and establish a private location where they could peacefully congregate. What they'd found was the stormdrain tunnel, a hovel already established as an after school(for the one or two who actually still attended) hang out for a gang of red masked kids calling themselves the Hellions. TireIron had fought them, beating one kid senseless when he had tried to light one of the homeless women on fire. The stormdrain hovel was soon theirs.
And now it had all fallen apart. The blast at his back as he climbed out of the stormdrain had meant that the Holy One had put an end to this experimental chapter. But TireIron was now caught by these two vigilantes, and now a third one had arrived. He tried to take strength from his weapon, the cold metal having turned warm in his hand much earlier in the night. But he didn't think he could stand up against all three in a fight. He was not that far along the path of enlightenment.
And then he saw more people coming out of the stormdrain. The prisoners, and the vigilantes that had attacked them. Apparently minus their vampire, but the witch and the two crazy armored people were there, one of them carrying the burnt body of the Rector.
As Cesspit and Lady Enigma debated, TireIron broke into a run again, looking for the nearest alleyway to duck into. He had to break line of sight if he had any chance of escaping. He didn't even know where he wanted to go, just that he had to get away from those who had killed the Holy One, the Rector, and his brothers in arms.

"I'm fine," Creeper said, holding his side, smiling, "Pain is rather sexual for me. After you, my dear." He said, motioning towards the ladder.
He would of waited for the others to get up the ladder, before he used one hand to quickly grab and climb up the ladders.
He liked ladders.
Laders were his friend.
He liked laders.

Aeon Phoenix jogged along through the night after the powered armor villain, but after three blocked he realized that he started to realize he was tiring. He was no machine, and his quarry seemed to be. That left him with a choice... confront the villain now, or follow and hope the villains hideout is near enough that he won't be too exhausted when they reached it. A ivory white rose was thrown in the sight of the villain, followed by a seeming rainstorm of them. ...where did he keep all of these anyway?

Karma went into a sprint after TireIron, at first- but seeing people coming out of the storm drain and into view, she skidded to a halt. They had frightened him away, that much seemed pretty obvious.
She couldn't help but feel they were going after the wrong person.
She walked towards the group, ready from the combat throughout the night to pull her gun out. There were a few people- young teenage girls looking frightened, a burned body being supported by one person in armor. Another person in armor, though of a completely different sort, looked pretty beat up (though he didn't seem to be acknowledging his wounds in the slightest). There was also a woman without armor close to them- looking ever-so-slightly like some sort of witch.
"Hello," She said, cautious but friendly so as to try not to alarm them or something. "If I may... inquire about what just happened? For instance, the explosion and why that man just ran away at the sight of you all..."

Cesspit was at Karma's side through it all, for the most part (though he remained decidedly close to the new costumed hero, as to make sure she wasn't a part of all this), closing in toward the scene of the mayhem with readied composure and lingering confusion. He remained silent, however, glad his mask limited the extent of his outward confusion.
And by extension, glad that the majority of his face has dissolved straight from the front of his skull, leaving little more than a skeletal, crispy brown-fleshed covering of rotten meat where it once was.
. . . damn, he wasn't pretty.

Creeper was sitting on the floor, legs out wide, his hands in his lap, idly rubbing at his groin and chewing on a bit of his own face as he waited. He wasn't sure what he was doing, only that he was really hungry, really thirsty, really horny and wondering when the next episode of Game Of Thrones would be on.
He laid back, arms out wide like an angel, showing the myriad of tattoos on his arms, legs and stomach, as well as the face, and looked up at the overpass and the section of nightsky he could see through the merging lanes and the edges of the overpass.
"So pretty." Creeper commented, his armor idly sparking to life around him.

~~~~~~~~~Under the overpass
The former prisoners were milling about, wondering what to do next. At least one had already tried to wander off, saying something about being alright by themselves.
"This is horrible... horrible..." The woman who had been guarding the door moaned. "We were trying to do good, trying to help these people... make a better life for ourselves, for everyone... why did this have to happen?"
"You!" The homeless man who had been helping out the wounded kidnap victim focused on her, stepping over and grabbing her collar. "You're the one, you were there when I was hauled down there!"
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry... you... you were sleeping in the park... we thought... this would be better... you could have a warm meal..."
"And what? Drugs? Some sort of freaky steroid?"
"No, no no... those are for the faithful... you must earn them..."
The conversation went on, with the woman babbling, an the man clearly upset and trying to find a target, any target, to vent his frustrations on. The injured young man simply slumped to the ground while this was happening, the burn from his plasma wound opening and blood starting to leak out again. He wasn't the only one wounded of course. The non-augmented man whom Bright Knight had split open his forehead was there, being supported by one of the other faithful. They all looked lost. And that didn't include the badly burnt and mutilated Rector in Bright Knights arms who was due some hospital time for his burns alone.
"I... I think we need to get these people to a clinic..." Susan suggested to Inferno Witch. "Do you know where one is?"
"And who are you people?" Raven asked of Cesspit, Lady Enigma, and Karma. Both girls seemed to be trying to put Inferno Witch between them and the other heroes(or maybe just Creeper), and nobody had answered Karma's question yet.
Not to mention, of the group, Darkson hadn't made it out of the tunnel yet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Streetside
"The frell?" Starscream asked, dodging the first rose with a startled jerk to the side, and then looking in confusion at the gentle storm of white rose petals drifting towards him.
He came to a halt in the middle of the street, not seeming to care if a car came at him or not. Fortunately, there didn't seem to be one on this road at the moment. "The fat Princess wants to go another round? Or is this some other wannabe?" He shouted while sweeping the area with his suits sensor arrays, trying to find whoever was throwing roses at him.

The Bright Knight sighed and set down the Rector as gently as possible, looking around at all the wounded people. In her time, they would all be as good as dead. But not here. Why was it that even in a time where the incurable could be cured, she felt so hopeless? "A clinic," she repeated, overhearing the girl talking to Inferno Witch. "Yes, that's a good idea. Do you have one of those... cell phones?" She hoped she'd remembered the terminology.

Creeper was sitting in the dirt, having sat up. He was idly playing in the dirt, throwing it into the air, then opening his mouth to catch it, spittle and dirt combing into one gloriously (and surprisingly tasty) nasty mess of black sludge.
He spat it out, stood up, and after adjusting his junk, waddled down over the manhole. The pot had buckled, and was hissing with steam and smoke, and didn't appear all that appealing to live in anymore.
Creeper scratched at his buttcrack, sniffed, then turned around, "Where's Darkson, sweetie?"He said, having strode over to Inferno Witch, arm draped around her, idly playing with her hair.
"I know I said this before, but I like your hurr. Real soft, fluffy hurr. Gurl, you gon' 'ave to tell Bon-Creep-Creep how you gon' get your hurr like that." Creeper cooed, smiling creepily.

Karma stood there with Cesspit, dumbstruck and slightly frightened. It was only a few moments later that she realized one of the girls- one of the ones not in any real costume- had said something. She blinked a few times, looking to her.
"Sorry. The name's Karma. This is Cesspit. Former members of the Triumphant and friends of Son of Liberty." She looked to Creeper, mentally inching several yards away. Her right eye twitched. "Is he, ah... bothering you, ladies?"

He brushed Creeper off and walked over to the tunnel. "I'm going in after Darkson, contact the authorities and get medical support." With that she went back down the manhole.

"The Triumphant?" Susan asked. "Which ones are you? He," She gestured at Cesspit, "looks kinda like Johnny Wraith, but his suit isn't quite right. And he's not super fast or a ghost." She, like most citizens, had seen news footage of the Triumphants official founding during a mayoral ball. One that had been attacked by a super powered mobster who could match the Son of Liberty blow for blow, and so had been even more exciting and news worthy. Neither Karma nor Cesspit had attended that function, and in the eyes of the general public were not part of the Triumphant.
The stormdrain tunnel entrance, mounted in concrete like a round door(not sewer, not manhole, thank you) had a little bit of smoke coming out of it. Likewise the smaller openings also had a bit of the acrid smoke, from the explosion(Only one explosion, though "series of" could be a understandable mistake if viewed from the exterior) and possibly before, seeping out of them.
From within, in the darkness, a large figure seemed to move, retreating down the network past the access to street level and heading down stream. Without actually entering, one couldn't see much else.
Raven stood beside Inferno Witch, who was being held back by Cesspit. "Ugh, I don't think this guy is Johnny Wraith." She moved to cover her mouth, as Cesspit had a distinctive smell of chemicals and rotting flesh about him. A strange continual regeneration and decay of his cells, and certainly not a natural smell, even though the suit hid most of it. "We need to find the vampire guy that helped us too. He was behind us when that blast hit, he might have been caught in it..."

"Ex members." Karma replied to the girl. "That's Cesspit, and I'm Karma. We left a good few years ago, actually..." She looked over to Cesspit and the witch. "It is probably dangerous to go back down there, however. We don't know how many bombs went off, or how many others there might be- unless you all know more and haven't said anything yet..." She was ever-so-slightly bittered by the fact that none of them had answered the question when asked, but then again it was understandable, she supposed.

"I'm on it," said Inferno Witch, she turned to Raven, "Stay here." She went back into the sewers. Immediately, she made a small ball of light out of magic and inspected the area, searching for Darkson.
"Darkson!" she called out. "Darkson, if you can hear me, give me a sign!"
She waited for a moment, inspecting everything around her for any movement, sounds or anything that could tell her the wearabouts of her team mate.

((Could you clarify how Inferno Witch got past Cesspit, who was blocking her way back down? Though, considering everything, he probably had to reach out and grab her arm to stop her, since she was closer to the door...))
"Don't know what happened really..." Somebody at least had responded to Karmas charisma, even if he was just one of the homeless people. "We were being held down there... some cult or something wanted us for their army, was going to use some drugs or something on us... then that crazy guy barged in..." He pointed at Creeper. "Started a fight. The others came in behind him, trying to pack him up. Fight got worse and... I don't remember all of it. My heads still buzzing from something... then that vampire guy yelled at us to leave, so we all ran... I don't see him here... I think he was caught in that explosion..."
