Just a note here, got word from Firefly that she wants to pull out of the game. I had intended to have her character head to the Great Fairy(the western one, by level 7). Getting past the moblins would have been no major issue(moblins are easily tricked and Toby could have rained pointy knifey death on them). At the Great Fairy, Rayjack would have been healed(regaining that 'razor wind' move he had with his sword in Kings Knight), and Firefly would have learned a song that would recover health and remove curses. Then she would have learned a transport song, and the whirlwind would have swept her away to meet with Avion, Al, and Meka. But since she's bowing out, it doesn't look like that's going to happen. She'll just vanish from the pause screen, her fate left nebulous. THE GAME GENIE GIVES THE GAME GENIE TAKES AWAY

It's not game genie. The storyline is based on rom hacking and fan game programming.
... nevermind I said that. Not a spoiler at all.

Nope, not to late to join. I'll just have your character drop in out of the sky at a starting point for one of(many) games.
Next up was going to be Metroid I think, unless you have a preference. Already used: Legend of Zelda(1), Super Mario Bros(2), and Castlevania(3).

Sweet, yeah, dropping in in Metroid sounds fine. If this is self-insert stuff, I can probably just be represented by a brown-haired girl in Cartman cosplay, because hahaha it's either that or literally Monokuma

Base sprite E10, also known as the heroine(either Doropie or Francesca, depending on translation) of Magical Doropie, also known as Krion Conquest in the US. Modifications involve removal of the witch had and long hair for that snow cap and the short skirt for pants. Sprite expanded 300%(in comics it'll probably only be 200%, though sometimes 400% for close ups) so it's easier to see. That suitable? Attachments:

It occurs to me that you never gave a name for your character. You want it to be Monokuma... or you want it to be something else like "Erica"(a female form of Eric, as in Cartman)?
Also, pick a 'inventory screen'(or make your own, I give instructions on what's needed). Middle of this page I think has all the options I've worked out so far. I was thinking of using the Adventure of Link inspired one if you don't have a preference.

Erica would be fine. I like the one with the star on the border.

Alright, hitting 100 posts on this forum, slow though it might be, is not that much cause for celebration. The fact that this means 100 COMICS, well that's a bit of a milestone. An early mile stone, hopefully with many more to come in the future, but a milestone all the same. Who'd have thought we'd make it this far? First of all, I'm uploading all the sprites I made for NPCs for this comic. This isn't their full sheets(though some of them don't have more than the pose shown). And a bunch of these guys never made it into the comic(or haven't YET made it into the comic, but still might see their day) but here you go anyway. I'm open to explaining who they are, even if it's a spoiler for upcoming comics. Yes, that's KITT from Knight Rider. There was a Knight Rider NES game. Fair game for appearing in the comic. But then so is the Interceptor from Spy Hunter. If/when our heroes get to the roads, what kind of vehicle(s) do you think they should get? Also, I'd like to do a bit of an introspective... this actually started out on Penny's own forum, with her and Chi going through roughly the same opening as Meka and Avion did. Penny used a different sprite, more pink and blonde. Going through the comics, here's some details you might have missed: Comic 17 when you first see the map is supposed to be a rough map of level 1x1 of Super Mario Bros 2... with symbols added. Going upwards towards where you start has a mushroom symbol. The map is saying that way would lead you back to the Mushroom Kingdom and the Mario Bros 1/3 games. The symbol for going left is a triforce, and that's the way our heroes eventually went, while the symbol going right and up is a book, implying it would take you to more parts of Super Mario Bros 2. Going down however has a little Metroid symbol, an option to head into the game world. The map is re-done in comic 18, but now with a vegetable(from SMB2) instead of a book(Doki Doki Panic took place inside a book, you can tell by some of the borders during the stage number screens both in the original, and Super Mario Bros 2). You guys were actually supposed to go to Metroid next, heading right until the first door, which then would show you that "the worlds are not right" with the Metroid tiles being added to the caves, and creating a door that wasn't in Super Mario Bros 2 for you to explore. This would have resulted in one of the team getting Samus' blaster and morph ball(which Erica would have gotten, if she'd followed the arrows and gone LEFT). It seems I can't figure out which direction you guys are going to go no matter what! Additionally, the zora(or rather the female sea zora, we see a male river zora in armor in comic 66) was meant to guide you to the first magical element(the water temple) if you said that you were from Koholint. Koholint, mentioned in comic 66 and 67, is the island that Links Awakening takes place on, or rather a dream of an island(since Links Awakening is all a dream). Much like Super Mario Bros 2 is all a dream. "Old Man Link"(who may not be Link despite all the hints, since Link shouldn't be that old yet) who gave you a sword, boomerang, and shield gave you a way to identify yourself to the zora and other friendly races of Hyrule(or other games, since the heroes would know one another and pass along the word to 'friendly NPCs') basically telling them "Link sent me". This wouldn't have worked on the goriya(the rat people from the Zelda games, they attack with boomerangs). The idea here is that after the worlds merged, most of the villains took over again. Hyrule is ruled by Ganon, and the goriya are loyal Ganon supporters because King Ganon actually helped them out when he came into power(goriya were underground only in Zelda 1, it's sorta implied that when Ganon took over he made peace between 'monsters' and people both by giving the monsters land and homes, and by forcing the monsters to NOT attack 'people' on sight). But they're also just farmers trying to get by, and not all bad. The fact that you treated them fairly(paying them for the octorock you poached) means you made friends with one of Links enemies. I can't honestly say this was screwing up my plans AGAIN, but it did mean I could include some exposition for 'other worlds' with the idea that the Ninja Turtles and probably a number of other characters from 'the city' have been defeated and forced out(Splinter living with the goriya and the Turtles with the koopa seemed a natural fit). Moblins, unlike the goriya, are bullies who still work as bandits and while they live under Ganon, they have their own culture that is sometimes at odds with Ganon's rules. They probably beat up on the goriya if they catch them in the woods. They certainly intended to beat up on Firefly and the injured Rayjack. You MIGHT be able to use diplomacy against them, but I did intend for the monsters to be hostile to you. That's why weapons are your first gift. In addition, the Wizrobe and Darknut are loyal to Ganon and were acting as his police force capturing the Kings Quest heroes and Firefly. Also, Firegirl26 was supposed to have landed in Metroid(like Erica eventually did), gotten equipped, climbed out of the underworld, and gotten herself a flying mount(stealing one from a Darknut), so that her IC posts would have made sense... eventually... but we never got another post from her. Oh... want to know what my current NPCs(that may never actually appear) I'm working on are? Here's a hint: Comic 93 shows a flash back of the Ninja Turtles facing off against Haggar, Cody, and Guy, the heroes of Final Fight. Final Fight in turn actually is(possibly) in canon for Street Fighter. Street Fighter ITSELF is not a NES game, and so I won't use it in 8bits. Only games from 8bit systems will be used. However, there HAVE been Gameboy games of Street Fighter, THOSE are fair game for me to draw from. Which means that, eventually, Al might be learning Sonic Boom from Guile, and Avion might learn Spinning Bird Kick from Chun Li. And Nocturne might team up with Kitana and Jade to defeat Shang Tsun. That's right, my current project is Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat NPCs for the comic. Maybe Killer Instinct too(it also got a Gameboy port). Attachments:

A little trivia here:
This story was actually meant to be taking place on an emulator, not the original games. Which is why some things are a bit messed up. The major plotline, what caused the ROMs to be corrupted, was a fan made ROM hack, making a Twilight NES game.
That's why there are no Princesses. Bella Swan is the only "Princess" allowed in this new world. It's also why vampires are universally hated(Castlevania gets a bit of hate simply by being associated, though Dracula is innocent, for once). The "Final boss" of the game would have our players, having gathered as many powerups from various games as they could, fighting Edward Cullen(who is his own games 'hero' like Mario, Link, and Samus are to their respective games) to save video land.
This was all supposed to be Twi-pocolyps(who all remembers THAT RP?) in sprite comic form.
I'm not sure I'll actually include this twist if/when we get there, but since we're at 100, I figured it was a good time to start giving out these things about what was going through my head when I started it, and has been bugging me since I haven't revealed it.
Happy 100(and then some!) comics. Here's hoping we get to 200!

Aaaaand since this now seems to be shut down... well I might as well ramble out what plans I had going on for the scenes as they were.
First off, on our main heroes, the next comic was probably going to be the group exhausted, with the little female goriya fussing about Al(she has a crush on him maybe?) and giving out water. The group would be asked to demonstrate if they learned anything from the montage I failed to do very well. Could they pull of this move: one of the ninja turtles would jump. Obviously the heroes could jump, they've already demonstrated that. Then the moves would get more complicated, stalling for several comics if possible, demonstrating that, yes indeed, Avion, Al, and Meka have learned all the ninja moves of the Turtles.
The moves would include a normal jump, a jump kick, a wall grab, a wall jump, a sumersault jump, and double jumping. The turtles would suggest that the heroes fine at least one magical element before heading out, and there would be a choice, as the goriya would know where the dungeons that held the element of Wind(hidden in the forest) and Water(up the shoreline to a lighthouse, you'd get to meet the zora girl again) were. The turtles would split up, at least one would accompany you and help out in the dungeons, while the others would take care of Splinter and the goriya, as well as possibly upgrade any of your gear(turning the fishing line into a grappling hook and rope, replacing the wooden items with metal ones, etc). Or, alternately, you could immediately head south to the Mushroom Kingdom, and end up in Super Mario Bros 3(with your enchanted map now looking like the map screen).
As for Erica, I didn't have much ideas for her. The door being shut could be resolved by A) going back to the start and heading the other way, where she'd get a briefing by Samus and the Guardian(implied they're now in a lesbian relationship) as well as getting some gear(Samus' arm cannon) that would open the door. Or, alternately, you could just get annoyed at the door and punch it, causing it to open. Either way, on the other side you'd run into some Metroid monsters, and possibly find your way through the "underworld" of Metroid into the Kid Icarus game, meeting up with Nocturne.
For Nocturne, she was supposed to follow Firebrand backwards through the first Palace of Kid Icarus. The duo would encounter Eggplant Wizard who would turn Nocturne and Firebrand both into an eggplant(though they defeat Eggplant Wizard the spell he cast still manages to curse them). Firebrand, embarrassed that he got caught by the curse, would tell Nocturne not to tell anyone about this as he takes her to the nearby hotsprints/bathhouse where they get the curse removed by relaxing in the waters. The removal of the curse would also give Nocturne back her clothing(she'd find it waiting for her when she left the hotsprings).
Nocturne and Firebrand(who'd want to get back to their running duel, though would settle for just banter as they headed downward through the first Kid Icarus level, possibly meeting with Erica on the way. At the bottom of the level(the start of the level), they'd find the Gauntlet heroes(Barbarian, Valkyrie, Elf, Wizard) who, like the Kings Knight crew, were watching that as a possible "entrance" for the choosen heroes. And like the Kings Knight crew, have been captured by Hades(Battle for Olympus final boss). Between the Gauntlet crew AND the Altered Beast heroes showing up to pester him(they beat up Cerberus on their way to fight "The Lord of the Underworld" and "Save Athena". "Athena saved herself already, and you want Neff, not me! Do I look like a giant rhino wizard?"), Hades is a bit flustered. So much so that Firebrand pestering him is enough for him to actually give Nocturne a gift(the powers and/or weapons from one of the Gauntlet or Altered Beast heroes) and open the door to the Element of Darkness.
The Element of Darkness(or the "Black Dog Card" as it's known in Castlevania, not related to Cerberus), is protected by another video game main hero. Sorta.
In darkness the hero challenges Nocturne(and maybe Erica) to explain what "Darkness" means to her to see if she's worthy of having it. If she comes up with a suitable reason for why Darkness is an element that can be used for good, the hero reveals himself(as if his dialogue hasn't given it away) as DarkWing Duck... only different. As the worlds combined, DarkWing Duck and DarkMan fused almost completely. So DarkWing now has a tragic backstory of having lost his wife and children and having his body burned by the mob, but has been brought back to sanity by an adopted daughter(Gosilyn) and boyfriend(Launchpad McQuack, works for Scrooge McDuck as a pilot), along with getting the superpowers(such as they are, mostly gadgets) of both DarkWing Duck and DarkMan. Of which, after granting Nocturne the Element of Darkness, he gives her one of his gadgets(either his cape/longcoat or gas gun) which can be used with the Element of Darkness(the cape would let her vanish into shadows if she wrapped it about herself, effectively turning invisible/intangible or teleporting as long as there was a large enough block of dark colored background to step into and out of. No idea what the gas gun would do, but the Hunters Whip gains a sort of black hole effect when combined with it so take of that what you will). Probably would not give her his SynthSkin and Camera(allowing her to take on the form and abilities of any other game character she could get a picture of) at this point, but she could find them in his hideout. The gadget(either cape or gas gun) would also later serve as a key(or identification or something) to unlocking his hide out in "The City"(all games with a city theme have merged into one city now, meaning a whole lot of superheroes, including SpiderMan, Xmen, Batman, and the Avengers, and street fighters are running around). DarkWing would wish Nocturne luck and answer any other questions she might have, but want to stay in the Elysium fields with his family so Nocturne would have to leave him behind.
As she leaves, Firebrand and Scorpion(Mortal Kombat) would be fighting one another, opening up another avenue of adventure, as if having Metroid(which in turn ties back into SuperMarioBros2), KidIcarus, Legend of Zelda, Ghosts and Goblins, and Castlevania worlds to explore wasn't enough.
But, since this game has shut down, I guess this thread can be too.
