Saw it. didn't realized how I missed middle Earth despite not even being a fan of Lord of the Rings. Then It got me curious of the books and bought them, though they have to wait since I'm still going through another book. And I just want to get LOTR: all three movies on DVD. (old fashioned? Or just broke?)
Anyway. back to the Hobbit. I liked it. Saw it with my mom and one of my brothers. Have to say, even though I didn't really see all three of the previous movies, I still felt the nostalgia. I was pretty happy seeing Frodo again along with the old Bilbo Baggins, Gandealf and some of the familiar elves. And I have to say. This movie has more humor than the last three, as far as I remember. And Golem. He's just as weird and ugly-creepy-cute as the last time I saw him! Yes. I thought he's ugly-creepy-cute. XP

How is radagast the brown not in the book? He even shows up in LOTR Online game as part of the Major plot line (also know as the 'epic quest line').

^The only time Radagast shows up in any of the books is to rescue Gandalf from Saruman's tower in Fellowship
Saw it recently. LOVED IT. I loved almost everything about it. The Galadriel screentime, Fili the hunky dwarf, the action, the goblins hunting them, etc. Pretty much the only thing I didn't like is that the Eagles didn't talk. Other than that I thought everything was perfect. Though, since I saw it in theaters, part of it may have to do with the magic of the theaters, and my opinion may drop once I see it on the small screen.
Is it bad that I enjoyed it more than I did the book? D: I like what they added in.

^The only time Radagast shows up in any of the books is to rescue Gandalf from Saruman's tower in Fellowship Actually Gwaihir rescues Gandalf from Orthanc. Radagast is the one who urges Gandalf to go to Saruman in the first place (unwittingly acting on Saruman's behalf).
Did anyone in your theater sing along with the Dwarves?
I enjoy both. The book has a lighter feel to it as it was intended for a different audience and meant to be almost childlike in its atmosphere.
The movie, with the pieces added in arguably ruins the lighter tone of the book, but at the same time it's brought onto the level of the rest of the Tolkien filmverse.

Oh my bad. *facepalm* I knew it had something to do with Gandalf getting captured.No. Though I was honestly kind of in shock that they actually left it in. And I didn't want to draw attention to myself.I agree. The book was definitely more for children. I honestly like that it's more "epic" and "grown up." And the book is one of my favorite books.

Guys, have you seen the trailer yet (I hope you have). I will admit that I had trouble concentrating in something other than Thranduil (I love Lee), such a great voice and how about friggen Smaug my friends?

^Yesssss. Also, you just reminded me of something I read on tumblr: "Imagine that Benedict arrives at your house uninvited, perches himself on the sofa and refuses to move and hisses at you when you try to move him. And there you have The Hobbit synopsis."
But seriously now, I'm really much looking forward seeing it.

This movie has made me appreciate beards more XD
And omg it made me care about other characters besides Bilbo! Not to mention I was really psyched when they included what was going on with Gandalf and the Necromancer.
That said, I really loved the beginning, specifically how they handled the bit with Smaug. You only see parts of him: a silhoette, his fire breath, legs...The fact that most of him is obscured is amazing and hints that yes, this is one fearsome beast you want to stay away from.

^Legolas is supposed to be making a '50' number with Thranduil's zero.
Anyway, I've read some things regarding Tauriel that have me a bit worried. And before anyone asks, no, it doesn't bother me that's she's an OFC, but the rumors that are circling around and the trailer sort of gave the vibe that they would be true:
This are quite possible spoilers, so please don't read unless you are fully aware of that. {Spoiler}Rumor has it that Tauriel will disagree with Thranduil in regards of the dwarves and help them escape.

Here is something I've never understood: Frodo, Bilbo's nephew, is the son of a hobbit named Drogo. DROGO! {Large Image} How has no one made these jokes yet?! I checked Google and there's, like, nothing! How the hell did that happen?! Frodo is the Stallion that Mounts the World! Which makes a bizarre amount of sense!
