"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."
~Tagline of George A. Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead', 1978[/i]
In the not too distant future, a global plague has nearly vanquished all of humankind; the population of Magdalene, New Jersey, is of no exception. Eight thousand zombies, out of the two hundred twenty-five thousand in Essex county, out of the seven million in the entire state of New Jersey alone. Give or take a few thousand. All shoulder to shoulder, all stalking the streets, seeking their next meal in the form of human flesh.
A handful of dwindling residents of the sleepy township of Magdalene have joined forces for the sake of escape and self-preservation, the toxic sprawl of walking decay just outside their windows a grim and constant reminder of their inevitable fate.
They've gathered what they need: a Winnebago with a capacity for twelve, the gasoline to fuel it, and enough food and water rations to last them exactly seven days. They've also scrounged up some weapons and ammunition, both of the melee and firearm varieties alike. Their plan is simple: get out of Magdalene in one piece. Unfortunately, like anything else worth doing, that might be easier said than done . . .
----
So basically, this a Slice-of-Life meets Zombie Survival roleplay. You are a resident of this small town suburbia, trying to retain some sense of normalcy while the whole world falls apart around you. You're on the move at all times with the group; you have to be, to avoid the roving hordes of the undead. Whether it be scrounging and bartering rations, finding new and slightly unorthodox ways haggle for supplies, or talking some gun-toting survivalist wackjob away from the pistol grip pump in his (or your friend's) mouth, you will be thrust into the shoes of a survivor, living day by day. There is a method to this madness, however. Nothing's as simple as it seems, even in the zombie apocalypse.

CHARACTER SHEETS:
Player Name:
Character Name:
Character Appearance: (hair, eye, height, build, identifying marks, include normal attire, since you probably aren't going to change clothing that much; images are acceptable)
Age:
Equipment: (very important; it's crucial to keep in mind that, even though you might have a firearm at your disposal, you can't be charging into battle every time you see a zombie shambling around. Guns are big, guns are loud, and ammo isn't cheap. You're more likely to attract more zombies by firing one than you are to actually killing them. That being said, the fancier the gun, the more expensive; you're not going to start out with the latest military technology at your disposal, that's for sure. Assault rifles, submachine guns, consider those right out. Handguns are significantly more commonplace, as well as hunting rifles and shotguns. Ammunition is a sparse commodity that you can't find everywhere, and the people that have it are probably more inclined to put a shell in your head than in your hands.
Your best bet is to go with melee weaponry, which will be described below.)
Additional Notes: (past history; describe who they were in town, what they did, anything else you want known)
Speed: (roll 1d100, please be fair.)
Gun Accuracy: (roll 1d100, please be fair.)
Strength: (roll 1d100, please be fair.)
Bravery: (roll 1d100, please be fair.)

Player Name: Adlai Stevenson
Character Name: Kim Reese
Character Appearance:
Age: 36
Equipment: Splitting maul (sharp melee weapon), semi-automatic pistol (7 rounds)
Additional Notes: Kim grew up in Magdalene in a single parent household, her widowed father a police officer in nearby Newark. Her mother died when she was only a year old. Though her relationship with her father was distant, at best, Kim had always admired the authority he represented, as well as his commitment to the safety of the people, rather than moving up the ranks and one-upping his colleagues. When the time came, Kim moved from the sleepy suburb she was born and raised in and relocated to the Big Apple, New York City. She rented out a tenement apartment in The Bronx, and eventually, became a firefighter for the FDNY.
It was less than a year later that two planes flew into the World Trade Center towers, and Kim, like slews of other active duty firefighters, was called into action, to evacuate the towers. She doesn't talk about the rest, and it was a year later that she packed her bags and moved back home again, to Magdalene, and took up a job working as a volunteer firefighter in town.
