Marilyn Manson's last two albums. Fuck you, everyone who hates it for "Being too different". Because the jump from ACS to MA wasn't different AT ALL. Seriously, we go from heavy angry 90's metal to what, glam-revival? A massive Bowie throwback? Yeah, that's not a drastic change at alllll.
Fuck you, EMDM and THEOL hating collective. THEOL is probably my favorite Manson album, so stick that in your pooper.

Avenged Sevenfold. I know a lot of metalheads hate them, but I really love them. AX7 is pretty cool. Granted, the band members look spectacularly douche-esque, Shadows' voice rivals Axl Rose's in terms of incompetent hard rock fuckery, and their metalcore phase was fairly bland, but they have enough redeeming qualties to make their music work for me. I really liked The Rev's drumming, the guitar tone from "City of Evil" onwards should be manditory for all modern hard rock bands, and they just know how to effectively put together songs that balance technical energy and excitement with memorable melodies and interesting song ideas.

I bought Sunny Day Real Estate's "Diary" a couple months back, and I kinda like it, surprisingly. They remind me of a non-progressive, non-trippy version Porcupine Tree somehow. I'll vehimately second this. Living in the city or suburbs gradually drains the life from my veins. To quote a wise man, "I don't want anything to do with you or the thoroughly sick world you live in. Count me out. I am going home, to the Norwegian countryside, to the wilderness and fresh air, to a healthy farm-life and Mother Earth's embrace. You can have your plagued urban brothel and your sick mongrel hell on earth to yourself." - Varg Vikernes. Agreed on country life. I don't mind visiting the city, but it's so crowded and you don't even get a little privacy. I have always lived in more rural areas and would rather stick my little towns than live in more urban places. Although, my little town has become more urban each year... See I love the city, and that's sort of an unpopular opinion around me. People complain about the traffic, the noise, the pollution and the douche nozzles that inhabit here. But I've been to rural/country areas, and I can't stand it. It's beautiful to look at, but I need the noise and the convenience of having 100 types of stores around a 5 mile radius!

But I've been to rural/country areas, and I can't stand it. It's beautiful to look at, but I need the noise and the convenience of having 100 types of stores around a 5 mile radius! There you go, it all comes down to personal preference! It's true that city life has mostly been the "norm" and popular opinion, despite its own set of drawbacks, it's still considered the best because of the convenience and minimalist lifestyle it offers. That's not a bad thing in the least, but it's what it comes down to. Rural life on the other hand, more often than not, teaches you to be more self-sufficient and to really get grinding to get things done, and to carefully plan certain things in order to make them work. That too, in a way, is all well and good and just depends if you can get yourself up to doing that or not. Again, not a bad thing, but that's what it comes down to. Like I said, neither one is better. Person A says they love the city, and person B says they love the country. Neither of them are right or wrong, it's all subjective. But it just sucks when urbanists talk down to ruralists for their lifestyle choice, and vice-versa. People should have the choice to live where they want and be able to get through their days in an environment they prefer. :< Of course, the suburbs are the happy medium, in a sense. XD Okay, I'd better stop unless there's a City VS Country thread. ....>.> Anyway! Also in response to what others have said about Juno. I'll admit too, that the Abortion Clinic part was quite poorly handled. I mean, yes, it was to have Juno be exposed to how hard that decision can be and that maybe it should be carefully considered before taking that step, but it wasn't handled as well as it should have. But I digress. The movie, like I said, did have its flaws and things that could've been handled better, but it was still good in its own right. I liked the ending too, despite that I wish we could've seen how Juno was feeling more and more during the aftermath of the adoption.

My only real issue with them is that goddamn voice. If not for that, I wouldn't mind them. Probably wouldn't go out and buy their stuff, but I wouldn't cringe every time I heard them.

~Metroid: Other M. I actually like this game. ...Even if I am now stuck where I last left off when I rented it. xD But actually, I do like it. I was actually grateful for the controls, the way you hold the Wiimote sideways! XD
But I'm not going to say any more than that because I don't want to start a debate or flame war. The point is, I do like this game, and I like the story.

Hanna from Bones.
Seriously, I like her. She has to be one of the few people on Bones who isn't annoying or fucked up somehow. The only reason why she's getting hate is because she's OMG blocking Bones and Booth from each other!
Really, the fuck?

I hate the video for Heart-Shaped Glasses for the same reason, I miss the good old days where his videos were creepy and surreal and overall just great. I don't wanna watch him fuck ERW for 4-5 minutes. No shanks. Did you mean you hate how he's talking about her so much, or how she's literally in the videos and everything? I don't mind the subject matter, especially on THEOL, when I first got it it was obscenely relevant to things going on in my own life so I fucking latched onto it hard as hell.

He did! It was so trolling.
Yes that's what I hated! Her being in the videos and her being the subject of his songs and her just being involved in everything. Someone said on Babalon that she thought her life was the Heart Shaped Glasses video and I sooo agree. When he used Dita for a video or inspiration it was never like that. Maybe I am bias because I loved them together so much.
THEOL is actually a lot better than EMDM which was basically a love letter to Evan. I do love them both but I like that he returned to himself more than just being obsessed with her.

Agreed entirely, on all of it. I liked how happy he seemed with Dita, personally I wish he could just become gay and marry Twiggy or something lol.

Pffft...because now that he's not emaciated, he's fat. Fuck it, I think he looks better now than he has in a long time, especially in that new clip. <3 I will fanboy for that man eternally, and shamelessly.
INORITE? There's a recent interview with him where Twiggy shows up and it's just like goddamnit, they're adorable. They're so good with each other. So, in lieu of that, I've taken to calling Ben Twiggums 2.0 sometimes. And it works because not only does he place bass, but he occasionally wears dresses.

The goth subculture. Not the pathetic Hot Topic fauxgoth(no, Tara Gilesbie is not an accurate representation of the average goth)but real goth, essentially a dark and twisted version of Victorian fashion.(think Emilie Autumn or Sharon den Adel)

Apparently, I am the only person I know that likes to eat things with FAT in them. I swear, if I see one more reduced-fat Butter, Bacon, or Cheese, I'm gonna SCREAM. What's the point of these things if they do not contain fat, cause if it don't got fat, it don't got flavor!

I realize that the definition of "goth" has been stretched to include everything that feels Burton-esque for a while and all, but I always thought "real goth" refered specifically to the dark post-punk culture and bands like Bahaus, Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, etc.
