Austin nodded. "I'll take her. Come on. Oz... you there?"
"The signal is strong enough I'm monitoring all of you. While I don't believe it necessary to prompt you further, I would once more urge haste. The authorities are on their way."
"Right... hey, I'm taking responsibility for this mess up." Austin said, wincing a little as he came up to the motorcycles. "I'll bring Lyra back." He passed Lyra a water bottle. She was surprisingly dehydrated from the sparks, but as she calmed down so did the electrical field.
For a moment Austin seemed to be listening to something that was channeling into his helmet and he started to work on the cycles, linking the yellow and green ones together. Lyra could pretty much slump over hers and she would be fine, like riding in a sidecar almost.
Meanwhile, there was a blinking of pink in the distance as Lucy's signal remained.
"I drop of Lyra, and I'm going to come back to help." Austin told them.
"No, you are not." Oz said. "You will be staying at the base with Mister Miles and Miss Harrison. Of the two of you who seem intent on following Doctor Krylov and the body of Miss Grace, which of you will take responsibility if this too turns out to be foolish?" It was sorta pointless to assign a leadership position to a duo, but the point was more to get the two of them thinking and to take the situation more seriously.

At that moment Lyra took her helmet off, and began vomiting pretty much any food she had in her system.
"I... I'm sorry..." she said after a gasp of air, "I feel... I feel..." and with that she fell to the ground, fainted, luckily missing her pile of vomit by an inch.

The other blonde's breath caught in his throat, and he moved down to pick her up, holding her against him and lifting her up to be on her motorcycle. He looked over to Zeph as Oz asked them the question.
"We probably have to decide before we leave...."

"Oh, that's gross." Austin said, looking over the yellow suited girl. She was still fully armored, save for her helmet. "Here... more water. Clean your mouth out before you get on your cycle."
"To err on the side of caution," Oz said, "She should also not attempt to change her clothing. The summoning or dismissal of your armor and jumpsuit requires energy, and her bodily reserves are dangerously low. I believe there is a tube of chocolate peanut butter frosting in your MRE Mister Lee, and I believe that Miss Harrison is in more need of it than you."
"Oh... ah... right." Austin tore open his water proof pack and pawed through it, shoving the packet into Lyra's hands. Like you'd have ketchup or mustard in, only this one was big enough you could cover a cake with it. "Here, Oz says you need sugar or something. You like chocolate right? I think that's what this is."
He then reached under her shoulders and was surprised that, while it hurt his chest pretty badly to do anything, and worse to strain it like this, Lyra wasn't that heavy. He managed to help her up onto her yellow cycle and then climbed onto his.
"Ryan, Zeph, you two going to be alright?" Austin asked as he started up his cycle, and Lyra's as well.

The glass cat came 'alive' again suddenly in the middle of the evening after things had started to calm down, and well past sundown, even though there was no sun in the bunker parking lot they were in. Not that the cat moved at all of course, all it was was a speaker system, but it started with a rising tone and jingling until it became annoying. Followed by it's voice. "Trivia... oh Trivia... are you asleep yet? How about now? You asleep?" In a manner that was intended to only have one answer: 'not any more'.
"We've got a problem... I think we're going to have to drive into town." The monitor over the kitchenette flickered on, showing a picture of Zeph and Ryan and some notes introducing them to Trivia. "Team needs backup. Preferably from the shadows, but Oz doesn't want them to get themselves killed, and I think they're going to do something stupid."

"What do you have in mind, Bastet?" Trivia inquired as she got off her bed, not even bothering to pull on decent clothes as she went over to the driver's seat and sat down on it. "Alright, where to?"

Zephyrine was silent for a moment as she pondered over who should take lead in this second assignment. It was a good question, one she wasn't quite sure he had an answer to, presently. But she needed one and quick. So Zeph came up with the most logical answer she could muster.
"Well, you took lead before," She said, turning to Ryan again. "So I'll do it this time. Tit for tat, right?"
Z turned to face Austin, who had asked them a question.
"I'm alright for now. I can still keep on going and I think Ryan and I should be able to handle this."

"Okay. Good luck you two." Austin told Zeph and Ryan, driving off with Lyra.
"I would, once more, state my objection to this plan." Oz intoned over their helmet coms. "But more importantly, I encourage haste in making some kind of action, as the authorities are not running with sirens and will be on you at any moment with numerous questions about what is happening here. If you are not present I can exert some influence on them, but no call I make will assist you soon enough."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Not certain." The Glass Cat replied. "Currently still tracking the tracer signal that was implanted. Perhaps you need a proper briefing while you get properly dressed. I suggest your body suit and armor, since you might be going into a combat situation."
From there the Glass Cat explained what was going on.
"As you're aware, despite all efforts and precautions, the process that augmented your body was not one hundred percent perfected. One Lucy Grace suffered catastrophic failure within her surgery pod, and died in the desert you walked out of. She was returned to her family, and arrangements for a funeral were made. However, given the intelligence you gathered, it was discovered that plans were in motion to steal her body. As such, four of your brightly colored, more public, teammates were sent to protect her body and plant a power cell on her body that would reactivate her implanted tracking devise in case they could not. They were successful in planting it, but unsuccessful defended against a number of the medically animated corpses you encountered, and a new weapon that is still being analyzed."
The screen showed Krylov in his Frankenstein powered armor, from the perspective of the kids attacking him. All Oz had to work with at the moment, their helmet cams.
"A convergence of events allowed for Lyra Harrison to defeat the weapon and force it to be abandoned, but Doctor Krylov escaped with the body of Lucy Grace. Wounded, both Austin and Lyra are being pulled back to base, and you need to follow the tracking devise and observe the location that it is being taken to. Both Zephyrine Jackson and Ryan Stark are also following the tracker to engage Krylov and reclaim Lucy. If you think you can aid them without endangering yourself you're encouraged to, but at the moment recon intelligence is your priority."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian rolled on the medical bed as the little goose neck brass armatures removed from themselves from him. His world was still one of fuzzy cotton and drugged out haze, but he was pretty sure that was Tick Tock helping him off the bed.
"'s... notmornin'..." Brian groaned. He wasn't wearing much, and all the bruises across his body were shifting colors, looking worse than they really were.
"No, I fear there was some accident. Miss Harrison needs the medical bed, and Mister Lee will require some checking over as well."
"Agh." Brain replied, muzzily heading towards the barracks. "I'll go sleep with Ben then or something."
"If Mister Miles has already turned in for the night, please don't bother him."

"We'll be fine," he assured Austin, "Just make sure you two get back alright, okay?" He turned to Zeph and gave her a small smile, getting onto his motorcycle. "We should probably head out now, though. I'm not sure what we can tell the authorities right now with us being this ready to go off."

As they drove off they passed a few squad cars, but none of them seemed to care, notice, or draw the connection that the 'brightly colored hooligans' were the same ones driving away.
"Your quarry is still on the move." Oz said, calling up a mini-map in the corner of their heads up display and pointing out where Lucy's body was, along with the black(with a silver outline) and red dots compared to the rest of the map. "I don't believe you will be able to catch up to him before they arrive at their destination, as there are a number of potential buildings they might be heading for. I realize there is a time limit at play as to how long the battery you gave Miss Grace will function in powering her tracking implant, but are you both certain that you do not need to wait for backup? I could attempt to influence the authorities to support you, perhaps even raid the facility in your stead."
Part of that backup included Trivia, but Oz wasn't going to mention that. If everything went right, all that Trivia would need to do would be to watch through a window or something while Ryan and Zeph dealt with matters. If things went really wrong... well, four Guardians had been beaten last time, three probably wouldn't do any better.

"Right," Z said back to Ryan, mounting her bike and firing up the engine. "Let's roll out."
And the two were off, in pursuit of Lucy and her bodysnatchers. Zephyrine didn't care about any of Oz's time limits, NOTHING was gonna keep her from stopping those bastards and getting that corpse back.
"There's no time to wait for backup. We've wasted enough time as is," She responded to Oz, matter of factly. "Do what you can to help us. We'll do our best to make up for lost time."
Zephyrine's bike roared with power as it sped down roads at breakneck speed, determined to catch up with and take down the monsters that took the body before they did anything terrible to it.

Ryan gripped the handlebars, pushing his bike to speeds faster than he had ever been at before, to keep in pace with Zephyrine and not be left behind. He kept an eye on the pulsating pink dot, trying to figure out if they'd need to turn soon or anything like that.

Traveling at high speeds, in the middle of the city, in the dark, tested them greatly. At least once Oz had to warn them ahead of time that they were coming up to an intersection where a car was going to pull out, as well as warning them about red lights. The higher speed you moved, the harder it became to react, and the less time they had to react. Particularly when the signal didn't give them a route to take, just a straight line, often showing up from behind buildings, forcing them to drive around and take turns.
After a few minutes they noted a police motorcycle following behind them, lights flashing.
"I believe they wish you to pull over." Oz said calmly. "You are traveling with extreme excess of speed."
Austins voice crackled over the communication lines, apparently listening even as he was driving back to base. "Hey, guys, you put your hand on that trigger, where the gas cap would be. Just below the handle bars and above where you're sitting."
"Mister Lee, I don't believe we need to encourage them to go faster." Oz added his own statement to the matter.

"Recon and Intel, got it." She said taking a moment to change out of her pjs and call up her suit and armor plates before taking the wheel again, still on the trail after Lucy's remains.

The speed was unbelievable. Zeph was certain that she'd never be able to make these turns at this speed without her enhancement or the technology in her helmet. But dammit....they still weren't going fast enough. The cops were after them, Krylov was getting away with Lucy. Austin tuned in with some advice...which Z had more than half a mind to use.
"We need to go faster, fuck the police," Zephyrine responded to...everyone. "Ryan! I'm gonna do it! ...I don't what it is, but I'm gonna do it!"
Z reached down and pressed the trigger, hoping Austin wasn't pulling some badly timed prank on them.
...if he was, she was gonna beat his ass for it.

The moment Z's hand touched the trigger plate, she felt a tingle. Like the feeling she got when she activated her armor. Then it read her desire for more speed.
The shock hit her body and Zephyrine's whole arm went numb. Like a lightning bolt had been channeled through it. Or like every ounce of her strength, even her nerves firing, had just been sucked out of it.
Ryan got to watch as Zeph's motorcycle started to change. At first it looked very similar to how Zeph summoned her body suit, with darkness growing and caking on the exposed surfaces, and then cracking and exploding off, revealing a new black paintjob. Then parts started shifting, this more like the armor plates. A tail folded out and spread, giving a rear spoiler. Two rather small wings, probably just for guidance rather than actual lift, extended out from the sides. The nose extended in several parts, giving two white 'eyes' and a rocket shaped 'nose' to the motorcycle.
Z felt a burst of heat and pressure on her legs, even through her suit. She didn't have the luxury to look down however, as Ryan saw turbines on the underside of the cycle kick on, pushing the cycle into the air and the wheels retracting. Zeph lifted off the pavement, starting to pull away from Ryan, and from the police motorcycle that was already starting to lag.
Controls were even more sluggish as Zeph rode what looked like a motorcycle crossed with a rocket folded into the shape and color of a killer whale. The wheels no longer touched the ground, no longer turned when she turned the handlebars, instead the thrusters vectored in response. Zeph saw a car ahead of her. Easy enough to go around, Ryan could go around it... but with her controls harder to work, she wasn't going to go around. She launched over it, rising into the air and gaining height. From here she didn't have to worry about going around buildings, about crossing freeways or other traffic.
No, from here Zephyrine could see Krylov's truck, still on the road, with nothing between her and her target. He was moving fast... but compared to her at the moment he was practically standing still. And Lucy was still loaded into the back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"... idiots." The Glass Cat hissed from it's perch. "The Great and Powerful just passed on something. The Black Guardian has triggered her cycle transformation. There is no way we're going to catch up to them before the fight starts."
The little pings on Trivia's GPS dashboard showed where they were, and the little black dot was catching up with the pink dot rather easily, now that it had decided to make a straight shot instead of following the streets. Not that it wouldn't have caught up eventually even if it had stuck to the route.
"I think we've got a change of plan Trivs." The Cat purred. "We won't get there in time for the fight, but their bio-readings are wavering like crazy after that sort of power drain and I don't know if they'll be able to make it back to base on their own. This has turned from recon to rescue."
The boy stared as Z was lifted up into the air. For a moment, he really wasn't sure what to do... but with the cops still chasing them, he figured he should figure out fast. He took a deep breath, concentrated on his handlebars, and found the trigger Austin was talking about. He flipped it, and held on.
Zephyrine grit her teeth and bit her lip as the sensation of the transformation rushed through her body. She couldn't see what had happened to her bike, but she definitely felt and heard something going on back there, between the sounds of shifting, cracking metal, the sudden heat...and the huge burst of speed. As she launched off the road and over the cars, she could barely grip the handle bars as she struggled to regain feeling in her limbs.
Once she was fully airborne, her gloved hands firmly grasped the controls to her jet-whale-bike. Z had regained control...and suddenly noticed she was flying. The feeling was something she'd never imagined. She didn't recall ever being able to see this much of the world before. If she wasn't in the middle of a mission, she might have started getting a little sentimental.
But she WAS on a mission, and she could see her target far below her. Zeph fumbled with her controls a little, trying to get used to the idea of moving in a 3 dimensional plane. After a short struggle, Z and her bike began to dive back down toward the truck. Z was in hot pursuit of the moving truck from a good 10 feet above the other vehicle. She was in position to make a move...but she'd wait for Ryan first. Don't want to get too ahead of things or bite off too much.
The boy stared as Z was lifted up into the air. For a moment, he really wasn't sure what to do... but with the cops still chasing them, he figured he should figure out fast. He took a deep breath, concentrated on his handlebars, and found the trigger Austin was talking about. He flipped it, and held on. Ryan reached down to the trigger plate below the handlebars. There wasn't really anything to flip in the literal sense, but metaphorically he felt a bit of a tingle. It was sorta familiar, he felt that way when he called his suit onto him. So he reached towards that tingling sensation, placing his palm on the panel. Their suits, the ones that extended from their body, had silver markings. Most of these markings were completely hidden when the armor plates were in place, infact the armor plates came out of the silver markings. Except for the one circular marking on the palm of the hand. That was intended for connecting not to armor plates, but to their weapons. To draw on their bio energy and focus it into their attacks. Or, to focus it into their motorcycles. The same shock that had hit Zephrine's body struck Ryan. His palm went numb, all the way up to his shoulder. It felt like a lightning bolt had been channeled through his body into his motorcycle, like every nerve had all of it's energy sucked right out of it. He was pouring his strength into his mount, and it responded in kind. A blast of flames extended from his hand, the kind that flared with brief heat and then vanished into the air before it could do more than give you a surprise. It was the same kind of flames that Ryan summoned to change his costume. The flames danced outward along the skin of the motorcycle, the paint job changing to one of bright red. The front of his cycle changed shape, panels folding out and fitting into place much like his armor did. It didn't hurt... no hurt wasn't quite the right word. It didn't feel like how he summoned his armor, not exactly. When he summoned his armor it was his body suffering the change. Locking up into a brief series of spasms, leaving him ever so slightly disoriented as the flames wreathed him and the layer of material came forth from his pores, the armor plates extended out from beneath his skin. His body flushed itself with endorphins when he did that, keeping him from feeling pain, and instead as he came out of it feeling just a slight lingering trace of induced pleasure. This was different. It wasn't his body that was changing. He didn't suffer the endorphin rush or the body spasms, but he did feel the fatigue from his body as the power was drawn from him. This was him performing the transformation on something else, something outside of him. Ryan couldn't see the changes his motorcycle was making, how it had become something shaped sort of like a whale, with a wide front and the same fins and tail. Basically all he could feel is the blast of heat and pressure on his lower legs as the thrusters kicked in and exhaust reflected off the pavement before lifting him into the air. It took Ryan only a moment or two to catch up to Zeph, the tracking signals on his helmet showing right where Zeph and Lucy were. Movement in the air felt sluggish, sloppy, but that was to be expected since there was no traction, just thrust, to deal with. ~~~~~~~~ "Well Ooma Trivs," The Cat purred. "Phase one is still the same. Follow the signals, and get to the foolish fools in question." The little radar pinged softly on the dash, and if she called up her helmet she would see it in a heads up display. "After that?" The Cat continued. "Well, by the time you find them I suspect their bikes will be in no condition. So finish the fight if they haven't, and load their bikes on the back of the truck. And you'll probably have to load their bodies onto the bed in the back too."
"I'll keep that in mind."
Despite herself, she reached over and patted the Cat on the head while pressing down on the accelerator to speed up her end of the three-way-chase.
Zeph saw in her helmet's HUD that Ryan was quickly catching up to her. Good. Turning around for a moment confirmed that as the red boy and his red machine were right on her tail. Z reached an arm off the controls of her bike and pointed down, signaling Ryan to follow her as she dived down to engage the truck.
"TAKE OUT THE DRIVER!" She shouted to her teammate.
The black jet bike dipped down to roadside level alongside the passenger side of the truck. Again going one handed on her bike, Zeph pulled her hammer off of her back, gripping it close to the head, giving her less distance, but letting her actually handle the weapon. With a swing, Zeph made impact against the truck, leaving a large dent in its frame. Pushing the throttle a little, she advanced forward, coming up alongside the driver door.
"Time to do something really stupid," Zephyrine thought as she let go of the other control and kept as tight of a grip around the rocket beneath her legs could manage. Now gripping the hammer with two mighty hands, she looked into the shotgun side window and shouted at the truck's passengers:
"KNOCK KNOCK, MOTHERFUCKER!"
And with that, Z swung her hammer into the passenger side door with all her strength. Not even checking to inspect the damage, Zeph kept on swinging. She didn't care who she was hitting or what part of the truck was getting hit. Just so long as it was slowing this thing down or hurting one of the monsters inside the truck.
Ryan was struggling to keep up with Z's unbridled enthusiasm, especially with her shout. Trying to keep back a nervous laugh as Z... did her thing, he coasted alongside the driver's side of the car, thrusting his spear into the skull of the zombie driver before pulling it back out.
...The question really was, how the hell were they gonna stop the truck?
Krylov managed to scream something that might have been obscenities as Zeph managed to mangle the passenger side door, seat, and the dashboard. Contents of the glove box spilled out, along with mangled seat springs and a good section of the windshield.
Krylov managed to practically jump into his high functioning zombie drivers lap to avoid the swings that had driven the trucks step into the pavement. Sparks were flying to distract everyone as the truck started to go out of control. And that was before Krylov turned and saw his drivers skull sliced open and a grisly red spear blade sticking out.
Both jetbikes started to loose all sense of propulsion, lowering themselves to the ground and letting the truck speed on ahead. Waves of fatigue, dizziness, and even nausea swept over both Ryan and Zeph, the little jewels on their collar and helmets blinking like a heart meter fading out. The bikes wheels touched down and the additional fins and whale like features on the cycle started to retract, returning them to normal.
Krylov's truck smashed into a light pole, the front end of the truck crumpling as it wrapped around the obstacle. Disturbingly enough, even though she was flung out of the bed in the back and hit the broken light pole, it's possible that Lucy's body was the least injured from the crash of all the participants in the accident. Excluding, of course, the young boy and girl who had been forced to pull up short as their vehicles seemed to run out of gas.
The bikes slowed to a halt, and the truck bore on past them, careening into a lamppost and coming, crashing, to stop.
Ryan glanced over to Zeph, feeling all his energy drain through his arms and out his fingertips. He slumped over his handlebars and tried to catch his breath, shut his eyes for a brief second - and the next moment he was looking back towards the truck again, and past it, at a figure in the distance, coming into the light...
He closed his eyes, and drifted off on a sea of lost consciousness.
Trivia had pulled to a stop and leaped down from the driver seat as the door was flung open, dashing over to the three bodies on the ground. After checking their vitals, she went over to Lucy's body and picked it up, running to the back of the RV. She pulled one door open then the other before placing the cadaver on the floor and rushing back to retrieve the other two. Once they were safely secured in the compartment, Trivia placed Lucy in a body bag before turning back to retrieve the motorcyles then finally shutting the doors and going back to the front to get on her seat, start up the engine and start turning the vehicle around to return to base.
"Mission Accomplished."
Austin had taken Lyra back to base. The girl was slumped over her own bike and barely moving when they arrived. Brian and Ticktock were on scene, and helped carry her to the medical bay. Lyra felt hands on her body, supporting her under her arms and knees, swaying as she was brought down the hallway. She saw a hazy look at Brians as they entered into the well lit medical bay. The boy was for some reason shirtless and his body was purple and blue from about the neck down, though a similarly horrible bruise was forming on his forehead as well. Ticktock and Oz looked her over and instructed as Austin helped place bits of machinery nearby, and Lyra felt her arm being put into a cuff, followed by a numbing and then a pinching sensation. IV drips were placed in her arm to revitalize her, and Brian helped Austin off to bed.
The lights dimmed for Lyra, and she couldn't tell what was going on. She was tired, but too dizzy to actually sleep. Her throat was sore from her chest all the way to her lips, and she knew she had vomited at least once already, and gone into dry heaves as well. She felt so ill and would blink slowly, sometimes without knowing about it. Then she felt the machines coming to life around her. One lowered itself over the hard padded bed she was laying on. She couldn't see it, but she felt how it moved, how it's weight made the bed shift, and the faint whirring and ticking of fine meshed clockwork gears. She knew it was something like the thing Oz put Brian in. Which meant that little prickling on her scalp was the blades. Slicing away at her hair, injecting topical numbing agents. What followed was the saw. She couldn't look up to see it, but she felt it touching the numbed spots on her scalp, and she felt the vibrations as it cut her open. Little hoses attended it, sucking away what sluggish numb blood seeped out as the top of her skull was sliced open.
Fear gripped her heart and tried to make it beat faster, but something wasn't letting her react. She just lay there, helplessly, as her skull was cut open. And then the sharp little probes started stabbing themselves into her brain, like clockwork spiders walking across her mind. Bursts of light flashed behind her eyes, and strange smells were triggered. She had dreams as she was being worked on, dreams she couldn't remember...
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mission Accomplished." Trivia declared, both Ryan and Zeph laying on her bed in the back of the motorhome, sleeping peacefully, their suits looking like colorful pajamas. One could almost think they'd cuddle up against each other.
"Excellent work ooma Trivs." The glass cat whispered from behind her ear. "One tinsy bitsy problemy. You grabbed a third teammate. I don't think that third one is going to be waking up. Infact, we're supposed to have her back with her family so she can attend her own funeral. So... what are we doing with her?"
"Oh, also, I'd like to note that the police are on their way here." The cat continued. "There have been two... ah... anonymous calls. One alerted them to a group of brightly colored motorcycle driving teens vandalizing the cemetery, the other which was placed by the Great and Powerful himself, spoke instead of corpses being stolen and that those jang little hooligans in the groshing rainbow suits were trying to stop the thefts."
"Thing is, those poor drumdick police are going to find our little accident here. And ooma Lu-Lu is the only corpse we can use to put the blame on Krispy Krylov." By the time the cat had explained this however, the motorhome had already pulled out and turned itself around.
That left Trivia with a choice: leave Lucy here to implicate Krylov as the bad guy in this event and so the police could give the girls corpse back to her grieving family, or take Lucy back to the base where she'd be safe from any other greedy corpse snatchers which would still be after her.

"You make a fair point...I figured I could just take her back to Oz but oh well..." She pulled to a stop and went into the back, getting Lucy out of the body bag before climbing out and sprinting back to the scene, leaving her posed exactly as she had fallen. She then turned back around, dashing back into the RV, getting inside and resuming the drive home.

"Which might not have been the worst idea." The cat admitted softly when Trivia got back behind the wheel. "We could protect the secrets within her corpse far better, but the chance of getting her back to her family, not to mention how we'd have to respond to the police..."
There was a pause. "Who just found the scene. This should be interesting..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian and Ticktock were waiting with wheeled gurneys for both Ryan and Zeph. With a little help from Trivia they had the in the elevator. Brian gave Trivia a smile and held back a moment.
"Thanks, you should get some rest." Brian suggested, his bruises still very obvious even in the indirect lighting of the hidden parking lot. "Take care of yourself, okay?"
Brian and TickTock wheeled Ryan and Zeph into the barracks, and Brian lifted Ryan up. Ryan's eyes fluttered a moment before Brian, with Ticktocks help, tucked the boy in. "You need your rest Ryan. It's all cool, you won. You too Zeph, I didn't see what you did, but apparently you kicked ass. Rest up, Oz wants to talk to you in the morning."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ After some sleep.
The smell of TickTock fixing breakfast drifted through the barracks, where Austin, Ben, Ryan, and Zeph were all sleeping, some of them cuddling their stuffed toys. This time, it was blueberry pancakes(from a powder mix), more scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. Syrups and butter available.
Lyra would be waking up in the medical bay, with Brian waiting for her. Despite her memories of the night before, she didn't have a scar over her forehead from when her skull was removed, nor even had her hair been cut this time. She did have an IV in her arm, though Brian had a glass of water(which he was drinking himself, but he'd share if asked) and she could be unplugged to attend the breakfast with everyone else.

Lyra's sleep had technically been dreamless, but the experience of having her head worked on while she was awake was so bizarre, she registered it as a dream when she woke up the next day. The most real-feeling dream she ever had.
She looked around at her surroundings, cringing a bit at the clinical setting and at the IV in her arm. She hated clinical settings, it reminded her of when Malachi was born and her watching the pain her mother had been put in.
When she noticed Brian, she frantically asked, "Brian is everyone okay?"

Late to rest, early to rise, Ben rolled over off of his stomach and onto the ground with a groan, coming to his feet. He was one of the first to wake up, as always. It was involuntary, used to rising with the sun. Drudging along, he picked up his rifle as he made his way to breakfast.
Clad in only his boxers, he sat at the table, running a hand through his hair, which was gradually growing back, enough that he could pull on it. He might need to shave it later on.
Pulling himself from his musing, he turned to look at their robotic companion.
"Good morning." He groaned, rubbing his eyes. Coughing, he looked at the assortment of food. More than he was ever used to this early. He helped himself, piling it on. "Is Lyra still in surgery?"
