He was pretty much spot on.
The only part I didn't agree with was: NC: "Pray for these boys." *Pictures of Edward and Jacob* Those two aren't exactly angels either.

That was my only qualm with it as well. But that may have just been to emphasis how poor of a character she was...I dunno.

He's going entirely on the movies - there's still an entire movie to go before he learns Jacob is a pedophile. Plus Edward comes off more angsty than abusive in the movie.

Oh Doug, you remind me why I love you so. Honestly, from the way he puts it, I actually found myself feeling SORRY for those two. Jacob especially.

Not sure about Edward, but I do agree with praying for Jacob considering what Meyer does to him in the last two books just to make Bedward more perfect. Bella really manipulates him, intentional or not.
I think what puts Bella above the other characters listed is that she often puts herself into danger, never really addresses bringing others into danger, and doesn't even bother fighting for herself. Although (as the NC says), had her flaws been intentional, she could have been at least a tiny bit more interesting as a mentally-screwed-up character.

Yeah, of the two, Jacob was definitely the one I felt worse for. Poor guy. I have little doubt Meyer intentionally made him OOC because he was starting to look better than Edward. Agreed. It reminds me of the Twilight section in the TV tropes page "It's All About Me". That is pretty much Bella's mindset. It doesn't matter who she's using or hurting, just so long as she gets what she wants. And it's as though the concept of others suffering for her sake doesn't even REGISTER in her head. No concern shown for the people she put in danger, no grief for those who died because of her, and no guilt over allowing her new vamp friends to eat a bunch of unimportant nameless humans so long as it means HER happy life isn't messed with. This is supposed to be the makings of a great villain, NOT an "everygirl" we're all supposed to empathize with.

Doug is probably just as hateful and annoyed by Twilight as we are. Every chance he gets he makes a stab at it. I'm surprised he's not a member here!

Actually, he doesn't think Twilight is that bad as a movie. He is aware of how crazy the fandom is, but he himself doesn't mind it. When he's playing the Critic, he takes stabs at EVERYTHING.
Heh. I once commented on when he did old vs new with Batman that he didn't mention the music at all. Then I mentioned it to him and his brother (Rob?) and his bro turned to him and was like "I told you! I even pointed that comment out!"

I'm surprised he doesn't. I would have thought with all his comments and with the fact he had Bella as his number 1 dumbass in distress that he'd despise it more.

I found his review of the other animated Titanic movie yesterday the most hillarious review in a while. I really hope he reviews the sequel to that one too.

Yeah. But seriously though, did the people making this movie ever stop to think?
Or were they all going through a Manic Bipolar I episode when they made this?

"The OTHER Titanic Animation."
O.o...what the...WHAT THE FUCK? WHAT A FUCKING DISGUSTING, INSULTING PIECE OF SHIT. SERIOUSLY, ANIMATION JUST HIT A NEW LOW WITH THIS ONE.
KUDOS TO DOUG FOR BEING ABLE TO WITHSTAND THIS PIECE OF SHIT. I kind of wish I had a bomb or some other powerful weapon, like Etherion that could blow up this damned moive to smitheerens. And I thought the first one he reviewed was bad.
...dammit.
Edit: But no matter how much that "animation" disgusts me, I do admit I did find Doug's facial expressions to be priceless and amusing...it was one of the only reasons why I didn't stop playing the video XD.

How can they sugarcoat these endings? Good Lord! Titanic was a tragedy!

How can they sugarcoat these endings? Good Lord! Titanic was a tragedy! It seems to be the requirement for children's movies. Actually, the story of the Titanic probably shouldn't be adapted into a children's movie (unless, of course, they have competent people involved).

As much as it sugar-coated it (and trust me, "sugar-coating" is the Understatement of the Year here), at least the rapping dog Titanic movie acknowledged the disaster and stayed vaguely historically accurate (the band really did play when the ship went down, even). This, on the other hand... I could go on all day about how insulting and tasteless it is to claim the deaths of many were a lie and turn one of the biggest disasters in history into a cutesy talking animal flick and use said disaster as a soapbox for a completely unrelated subject, but I'd be preaching to the choir.
This one bit confused me though- if all these people really lived in the movie's "canon," then why does everyone still think they're dead? Why did they claim they were dead, for that matter? Uggh, my head hurts trying to make sense of a movie where the closest thing we get to a death are the comic relief animals and magical rainbow firework moonbeam tears give you the power to speak with animals.

My guess is that they were actually committed for going on and on about giant dog-faced octopuses and talking sea creatures and people just assumed that they died. And why is it that both these movies have talking animals in them anyway?
