Throbbing hearts burn as if aflame
The pulse which beats forth from their palms, The courage which runs through their veins
Bravely embracing their fate!
The curtain rises on an endless tale!

- Sono Chi no Sadame, Opening to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), Phantom Blood.
Rather obviously, this is a game based on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, an extremely, extremely long running manga series by Hirohiko Araki. You likely know of it from the memes and Capcom fighter.
It tells the frankly bizarre stories of the Joestar family and its descendents, starting in Victorian England with Phantom Blood staring Jonathan Joestar and spanning to 2011 with the story of his great-great-great-granddaughter Jolyne Kujo in Stone Ocean, before the universe gets reset as of Steel Ball Run.
The series is well known for its length, references to rock and roll, adoration of Italy, and an extremely over-the-top nature, to the point someone once called it 'The Glam Metal version of Fist of the North Star'.
By God does it live up to that.
Taken from JoJo's Bizarre Encyclopedia
- Part I - Phantom Blood: Series 1 follows Jonathan Joestar as he masters the ancient art of the Ripple to fight against his stepbrother, the newly transformed Vampire, Dio Brando and his zombie minions. Has been adapted into a lost movie, a PS2 game, and the first nine episodes of the 2012 anime adaptation.
- Part II - Battle Tendency: The second part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series takes place in the 1930s, and follows the misadventures of Joseph Joestar, the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, as he fights vampires and ancient super beings with some help from a cybernetically-enhanced Nazi and an Italian man he has a lot in common with. Has been adapted into episode ten onwards for the 2012 anime.
- Part III - Stardust Crusaders: The face of the franchise- the one you instantly think of when the words 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' are uttered. Series 3 follows Jotaro Kujo, the grandson of Joseph Joestar, and his journey to Egypt to save his mother's life by defeating the Joestar family's resurrected archnemesis, Dio Brando. Has been adapted into several forms- a Super Nintendo RPG, a Capcom fighting game that's been ported from arcades to Dreamcast, PSX, and PSN/XBLA, two OVAs, an audio drama, and will be adapted in the current anime's next season like all parts before Steel Ball Run.
- Part IV - Diamond is Unbreakable: This series focuses on Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar, with Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar along in a supporting role. Strange events start occurring in the town of Morioh, and it's up to Josuke to unravel the secret behind the numerous homicides happening around town, whilst meeting unusual enemies and gaining allies along the way. "Ah, what a beautiful DUWANG!"
- Part V - Vento Aureo: Giorno Giovanna, one of the sons of Dio Brando (don't ask how), wants to become a gangster in order to fulfill his dream: becoming a "Gangstar" (Gangster Star). After killing Leaky-Eye Lukain in self defense, Giorno encounters Passione mafia member, Bruno Bucciarati, who wants to exact revenge. Giorno manages to exceed Bruno's expectations and defeats him. Giorno is invited into Bucciarati's mafia group and is assigned a mission to deliver the Mafia Boss' daughter to him. Has been adapted into a PS2 game that was supposed to be localized in the west as GioGio's Bizarre Adventure before a snarl in localization of the rock-based names caused it to be cancelled.
- Part VI - Stone Ocean: The story of Jotaro Kujo's daughter, Jolyne Kujo. Taking place in Port St. Lucie, Florida, she is framed for a DUI murder and ends up in the Green Dolphin Street Prison (named after the Bill Evans album "On Green Dolphin Street"). She is given an amulet inherited from her father, which cuts her hand and unlocks her Stand ability.
- Part VII - Steel Ball Run: The first part of a new universe directly created by the events of Part VI and is a counterpart of Phantom Blood. The series stars Gyro Zeppeli, who uses a set of steel balls with a special kind of spin, and Johnny Joestar (an alternate universe Jonathan Joestar), a former hot-shot jockey whose career ended early due to paraplegia. They race, along with others, in a mad-dash across America for 50 million dollars and possibly something else...
- Part VII - JoJolion: Currently running series. Is the adaptation for Diamond is Unbreakable in the new universe. The story takes place in 2011 in an alternate reality of Part 4's Morioh Town. Yasuho Hirose finds a strange naked man half buried in the ground. After making acquaintances, she finds out the man has no idea who he is and has no memories of anything. The story unfolds with Yasuho and the Strange Man attempting to unravel the mysteries behind the man's past and his amnesia.
The Stone Masks are ones of havoc, ones of evil. Long ago, the masks were crafted by the immortal Kars and the Pillar Men to be able move in the sunlight, though they were failures in this. From then on, the masks were used in days far gone, before even Dio Brando got his mitts on it, by an Aztec civilization in dark rituals with the reasons why long lost to the cold grasps of time. The mask has a strange effect on those who activate it with blood- spikes jet out from it and pierce the brain of the wearer, seemingly killing them momentarily. This actually has the effect of turning the wearer into a nigh-unstoppable vampire, making them a force to be reckoned with.
The Ripple is the opposite of the Masks. Where as the Stone Masks take life force, the ripple restores it. The Ripple is controlled through one's breathing and blood flow- meaning if one's breathing or blood flow is damaged, they cannot use the Ripple. It can allow you to do practically everything, including walking on water. The Ripple also takes power from the sun, if it's powerful enough.
Stands are the manifestation of one's fighting spirit. These Stands allow you to gain a bizarre power- literally everything you can think of can be a Stand (the most infamous being Dio Brando's ZAA WARUDO/The World). However, the majority of Stands need you to be on your wits to win- just like the Ripple does.
Posing is also appreciated. It is not JoJo without posing.
That said... We have absolutely nothing to do with the Joestar family in this game, and the game will be AU for an extremely obvious reason.
From the depths of silence
Awaken the 'Pillars' beyond their time
Bring together the courage of the rising crimson blood
- BLOODY STREAM, Opening to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), Battle Tendency.
Instead, we tell the tale of a mystery in 1998.
Lying underground in a small village south of London called Wind Knight's Lot is the infamous Stone Mask of Dio Brando, thought to have been destroyed when Dio and the first JoJo fought in battle in the year of 1888.
Though the tale of how Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando clashed is unknown to the public at large, the few trained over the years by Tonpetti's order and simple word of mouth from person to person are well aware of the tale.
You gather at Wind Knight, all for your own reasons. Perhaps you want to destroy it for sure this time? Or maybe you wish use the mask to further your own goals? The point is, you gather on in this small town to investigate.
What's the worst that could happen, after all?
Ah, what a bizarre tale this is...
