In the criminal justice system of the wizarding world, Dark Arts-based offenses are considered especially heinous, and endanger the lives of witch, wizard, and unsuspecting Muggle alike. To combat these acts of supernatural terror, the highly-trained, dedicated officers within the Ministry of Magic are known as Aurors: the best of the best in magical law enforcement, outside the borders and boundaries of Muggle government, beyond your regular police. Bringing dark wizards on both planes of reality to justice, and fighting for the future on behalf of the human race, no matter their blood.
These are their stories.
AURORS:
Magical Law Enforcement
I figured I'd try my hand at this here idea; it's something I've been tossing about in my head for quite some time now, and after a few recent quasi-serious conversations, I've decided to commit. In this roleplay, we play as our titular characters, Aurors: an elite unit of highly-trained, specialist officers within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic, fighting the ongoing threats of dark wizards, witches and creatures galore throughout the universe of Harry Potter, the wizarding world. While the inspiration, of course, lies in the source material (THANK YOU BASED ROWLING), my focus isn't exactly on the Hogwarts-y, high school antics that many Harry Potter RPs tend to rely upon. I'm trying to steer toward a direction in the vein of television shows such as Law & Order, CSI, and of course, COPS. This, coupled with the supernatural, fantastical elements of Rowling's universe, will hopefully make for one helluva ride for all of us involved.
Now, it's your turn: put yourself in the shoes and brown trench coats of the Aurors, and live the life, combat the Dark Arts, and have some fun in the process.

Age: (please, over eighteen; these ones have graduated Hogwarts)
Appearance: (pic or description)
Blood: (Pureblood, Halfblood, Muggleborn, etc.)
Wand: (each and every wand is as unique and individual as its owner; for types of wand wood, look here. For cores, look here.)
Personality:
Bio:
Auror Office (Accept Characters)
Name: Hosea Breckenridge
Age: 34 (born January 2, 1979)
Appearance: Hosea stands tall, thin, but broad-shouldered, with a (mostly) athletic build, a solid six feet and about a hundred seventy-odd pounds. His face is youthful and boyish, yet aged and gaunt from the work he's put in for the Ministry. Relatively handsome, all things considered; sharp, angular features, a solid chin, a bit of a long, aquiline nose, and a pair of big brown eyes. Distinctively, a readily apparent feature on his facial profile is his right ear, which is noticeably scarred and torn, an old Quidditch wound from his Hogwarts days.
Hosea's prefers his clothing to be as practical and modern as possible; he was never a big fan of the old wizard-y robes, and tries to avoid wearing them if at all possible. Under his brown trench coat, a trademark of the Aurors, he wears sweatshirts and T's in darker, cooler shades, as well as comfortable slacks and a pair of (notably flashy) red running sneakers, recognizable to most Muggles as 'Air Jordans'.
Blood: Halfblood (Muggleborn father, Pureblood mother)
Wand: Unlike most Aurors, Hosea's wand isn't much to write home about, and hasn't changed since he first bought it at Ollivander's way back in the day; a ten inch beechwood wand with a 'temperamental' Veela hair core.
Personality: On the surface, Hosea appears to be your regular standard-bearer for any up-and-coming Auror; physically fit and mentally sharp, of sound mind and strong spirit. However, that sentiment is awfully far from the truth, as he has continuously proven himself to be anything but that previous description, once you get to know him. While his interpersonal skills are strong, and he tries to come off as somewhat affable, Hosea tends to be coarse and curt on the job, never doing more than he has to and trying to be as meticulous as he can. He is a firm believer of living in the now; he saves the nostalgia for the off-duty pub hops. He has the vaguest of feelings in terms of getting old or settling down; he enjoys pushing himself to the limit, almost to a fault, and highly doubts that he will ever live to collect his pension.
Outside of his work, he's got a penchant for dabbling with alcohol, and is in the midst of a rather rocky divorce settlement. It's no surprise that he tries to occupy most of his time with his job, and one thing's for sure, he does it well.
Bio: Born to a pair of wizards (a Muggleborn father and a Pureblooded mother, respectively) living in the Muggle world, Hosea was always getting into trouble, one way or another; this wasn't exactly supplemented by his father's death overseas in the Falkland War, and before he received his Hogwarts letter, it seemed as though the young lad would fall into a downward spiral to petty crime.
Hosea was placed in Slytherin house at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he avidly took to most of his classes, as well as the unique, dangerous sport of Quidditch. Even in his first few years as a student, Hosea showed great potential on his broomstick, and could have easily been voted MVP for the Slytherin House Team during his fifth year . . . until he took a bludger to the chest, breaking his broomstick and sending him hurtling to the ground. Hosea was badly injured, breaking several ribs and suffering permanent damage to his spinal cord, injuries which were too extensive for magic to immediately repair. He finished his Hogwarts schooling at the top of his House, but with a back brace and chronic pain.
It was during the days immediately after his graduation that Hosea found himself immensely bored with life in general; he'd taken to drinking, and had nearly wasted his savings on his booze before he met his soon-to-be wife, who introduced him to Gawain Robards, Head of the Auror Office. With his exemplary schooling career and latent drive, Hosea was put on the fast track to becoming a fully-initiated Auror, which he did by the age of twenty-four. He's been with the Office ever since.
Name: Artemisa Acosta
Age: 22 (born April 13, 1991)
Appearance: (pic or description): Artemisa is of mixed race, having a mother of African descent and a father from Spain. Her skin is very dark, making it look like she has no white ancestry at all if you see her from a distance. Her feautures however are slightly more on the Caucasian side. Her dark brown hair is thick and curly, and she has brown eyes.
Blood: Halfblood (Squib Father of Pureblood descent, Half-blood mother)
Wand: 12 and a half inch Rowan wand with a Dragon Heart string for its core
Personality: Artemisa is a newbie Auror, and it shows. She is still filled with all kinds of idealism and optimism about changing the world and helping people. This causes her to make mistakes and trust people too easily, when such a trait is very detrimental to her job. She almost always has a smile on her face when off-duty, but is serious when she needs to do her job, even though she's a bit on the reckless side during missions.
Bio: Artemisa's father was Emiliano Acosta, a Squib born to a well-known Pureblood family residing in Spain. He was resented by his family, and was kept a secret, and was cast out with nowhere to go when he was 16. Emiliano wandered around Europe, until finding his way to Britain, where he ultimately met and hit it off with a recent Hogwarts graduate studying to become an Auror, Daisy Bolton. First came love, then came marriage, then came a baby in a baby carriage. Said baby was Artemisa.
Daisy ultimately fulfilled her dream of becoming an Auror, but died during the Second Wizarding War, when Artemisa was only 8 years old, leaving her to be raised by her father. Artemisa had always been obsessed with her mother's work, and her mother's death made her want to go out and kill Dark Wizards even more, especially since the one that had killed her mother had been one of the few Death Eaters to not be caught by the authorities, and is still lurking out their somewhere. Artemisa started Hogwarts in 2002, and was sorted in to the Hufflepuff house. She proved to be a fairly popular student, having a decent network of friends, and having a few boyfriends through her life, and she was a good enough student that she became a prefect in her 5th year. She passed with grades good enough to become an Auror, and she began training shortly after graduating in 2009. She has only been a certified Auror for 2 months.

Name: Jordan Peyton
Age: No one knows. It's assumed much upwards of thirty, perhaps early fourties to fifties. Birthday, at least, is June 7th.
Appearance: Jordan is... massive. Alright, he's not terribly big- about 5'6 and of a slightly larger stature (think Molly Weasley over Horace Slughorn), but her presence is what makes him seem so... enormous. Very confident and calm, Jordan has graying brown hair that reaches just above the shoulders, and brown eyes if you can get close enough to see them beneath thick-lensed glasses. Jordan wears relatively normal clothes, albeit a bit bedraggled- not that he's poor, she just doesn't see the point in spending so much money on clothes.
Blood: Technically pureblood, but perhaps halfblood?
Wand: 8 1/3", laurel, unicorn hair, sturdy.
Personality: Confident, sarcastic, strong and a bit rough around the edges. However, it's easy to tell, once working together, that Jordan has an incredibly good heart. Jordan may have seen things in the time spent on this Earth, but still being pure and gentle is probably one of the biggest accomplishments hit so far- untainted by evil despite having the possibility of being that every day on the job.
Bio: Born to a pureblood squib of a mother, and a pureblooded father, Jordan grew up with very little magical background. Aleesa, the mother, was obsessed with it, but unable to perform it- even so, she would read the small child the Tales of Beedle the Bard. Georges, the father, was a graduate of Durmstrang, a model student- Head Boy, Prefect, team captain and chaser for the school's Quidditch team- but for some inexplicable reason, after he left the school, he swore off magic, married Aleesa and moved to her hometown of Dublin in the hope of having a somewhat normal life.
Even so, she was somehow able to convince him to do a few spells every once in a while, and, when the time come and Jordan was invited to Hogwarts, he and Aleesa both took the child to Platform 9 3/4 and saw her- or perhaps him, even then no one but the family really knew- off on the train. Jordan, of course, followed in Georges's footsteps. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Jordan immediately set about making history for the house of the intelligent, invited to the Slug Club as a first year, taking up quidditch as a second year (a beater), and starting his own club as a sixth year- a club for people of all houses to get together and play chess and other mentally-stimulating games. In his fifth year, Aleesa died, leaving Jordan alone- though Georges was here he wasn't very affectionate. Of course, shortly there came the time when Hogwarts ended for Jordan, who didn't know what to do. So she traveled for a while, taking in the world both muggle and wizarding. While compassionate for them, Jordan could not stand to live with the muggles, so that was straight out- and by the age of twenty-seven or so, Jordan was stationed at the lowest level of the Ministry of Magic. As the years wore on, and his talents became more and more leaning in one direction, Jordan eventually became an Auror, the most prestigious of all jobs at the Ministry of Magic, besides being the Minister of Magic himself.

Even still no one could tell WHAT Jordan was, and the fact that he seemed very asexual just aided that fact- in fact, the only major affection she seems to have is for his pet ferret, Mariana.
Name: Sally Rickett
Age: 33
Appearance: She has long, wavy, layered black hair, kept in a side braid. She has dark green eyes and pale skin. She's 5'8 and 127lbs (before anybody asks, yes she is supposed to be a bit on the unhealthy side of underweight). She has a few scars from her time as an Auror, on her hand, elbow, under her left eye. She has rough feeling skin. She has a penchant for dark, old fashioned Muggle clothing when she wears it (though, as with most Wizards, she's usually in robes).
Blood: Muggleborn.
Wand: Nothing fancy. Dogwood, unicorn hair, 12 3/4 inch, very flexible.
Personality: As a 33 year-old mother of three kids, Dinah, Sarah, and Ben, Sally knows how deeply important it is to persue justice in the Wizarding World. She's not unused to being treated badly by some due to her blood status, and has been attacked for it before, and while she does not let in on it, she is worried about herself and her kid's safety. This can lead her to neglecting her health, causing her to be skinny. She covers up her worries with a smiley, joking facade that only comes down in the privacy of the late night, when she's alone with her husband Anthony. A word of warning? Threatening her family will be one of the last moves you make. The others will be flailing at all the hexes she whips at you. She tends to joke around her friends in the Aurors and tries to keep the tension down between them. She can be very stubborn and once she's set her mind to something, there's no stopping her.
Bio: Sally grew up in Godric's Hollow, completely unaware of her home's history. She grew up with her parents and much younger sister Denice. From early on it was clear she was a firecracker, and she was often in trouble for fighting with bullies at school. She was very surprised, but pleased, to learn she was a witch. She was placed in Gryffindor house. She excelled at DADA and became eager at the prospect of fighting Dark Wizards. She quickly discovered that that might be easier said than done. At the time she was in school, Pure-bloods undoubtably held all the cards. She got on the bad side of some of their biggest fanatics by challenging their ideas. Some of them jumped her and hexed her hard enough that she was knocked out for hours. This incident led her to swear to fight injustice in the Wizarding world and she set her sights on becoming an Auror. Since then, it has been a wild ride throughout her career. She's only recently returned to work after giving birth to her youngest child Ben.
