Vsti watched the Maiden as events progressed, sitting there calmly at the side of the pool.
"Is something on your mind?" The dragonborn hissed conversationally. "You seem quiet, watching these events. Are you thinking about my questions?"

Nialleen stared at Miri, and, after a moment, nodded.
"Of course. At this time of night, an owl would go unnoticed in the woods... but did you see wherever they might have gone?"

"You seem quiet, watching these events. Are you thinking about my questions?" "I... a bit, yes." The Maiden nodded, watching the events transpire in the pool. Lunath stopped, crouching slightly, sword and shield both up and at the ready. The arrows struck their marks, clanging off of his armor easily. A few calculations and - With one quick flourish, his shield was thrust up into a section of the trees, hoping to knock his first assailant from their branches. Should he succeed, his sword was at the ready and thirsty for whatever bloodshed might be needed on this night. "Shit!" A bandit called, as he tumbled out of the tree and having barely managed to land on their feet. The bandit- Dwarvish, or perhaps just a short human, Lunath would see- leaped back, while he tried to gain distance from the knight. "Tha' fahk d'ya want?" The thief asked, as kept backing away. "Out number you, ya fah-ker. Got some buddie hidin' near, wouldn't be smart to fahk wit me." The thief's voice was panicked under a poorly-kept sense of calmness.

Lunath kept his head down and shield up while talking to the bandit. It wasn't that he was afraid of him - he realized that he could probably take him easily. However, the mention of a second confirmed his suspicions, and his eyes cast around, landing on the bushes nearby before landing back on the dwarf. His head didn't move, but his lower body swooped a kick into the bushes, reeling back quickly to let the second assailant know he knew he was there.
"Outnumbered, perhaps. And I would be stupid to not take into consideration that-" he paused. There had to be another one close-by, there had been quite a few bandits, not just two. Besides, there was still some unknown presence raising hair on the back of his neck somewhere to the north. "-Three of you could easily take down someone like me. But now two of you have lost your element of surprise. This makes this much easier."

Vsti watched the Maiden in silence, considering the girl. She seemed rather overwhelmed by all this, taking it in silent shock. Poor thing. Not at all what Vsti had expected of the legendary Maiden. "If you have anything to say..." Vsti kept the tone conversational, "Please speak. We're here to talk, and it won't be too long before your companions find you again."

"Please, yes. Thank you, so much. Anything." Miri said, pleading, her voice rising in pitch as she frantically paced on the spot before she latched onto the Changeling, giving him a gentle push, as if to get on with it. "They... whatever it was... it was magic. I have no idea where they went."
"Please, just... do this for her." The frantic girl continued. "Do this for her and I will make sure no harm comes to you of that Paladin's hands. Just help us find that girl."

The Maiden sighed, sounding slightly frustrated- though clearly not at the Dragonborn, at least not directly. "I never really was out of the church terribly often before today, much less expected what's happened in the last few hours.

"I understand." Vsti nodded. "You have much to get used to in little time. Would it help if we spoke of it?"
