Forgive me for the barebones of an OOC, time is of the essence. Halloween in two days, bitches!
JB: We play kids - well, anywhere from, say, twelve to eighteen - who live in this mansion-turned-group home. The one characteristic that defines our characters?
JB: We have all been involved with, victim or otherwise, of a supernatural event. Possession, summoning, haunting, what have you, each of us has experienced these in such a way that we were brought to this place.
Charlamaine Monroe: Ooooh!
JB: The mansion, as it turns out, is a siphon - a high-traffic area between the living and the dead, souls who haven't yet found the afterlife, or ones who want to get out.
Charlamaine Monroe: I like this idea. XD Especially as it's getting close to Halloween
Charlamaine Monroe: well 'close'
JB: So, while we have living characters who can see and experience these anomalies? There are the spirits of the dead as well.
JB: The mansion becomes a halfway house for them - the transition from this world to the next.
JB: . . . so think Fosters Home but with ghoulies and ghosties.
Charlamaine Monroe: The one question I have - why are our kids there?
Charlamaine Monroe: Is it like in JS where they were pulled?
JB: Oh, no.
Charlamaine Monroe: Or like in SG, where they're sent there via being orphans or having bad family lives?
Charlamaine Monroe: Or a mental ward type thing.
JB: Think along the lines of SG.
Alastor0: Dude that sounds neato
Charlamaine Monroe: People don't believe them, this place offers to 'cure' them, or just take care of them..
JB: These kids have experienced paranormal activity events.
JB: And whatever it was, it's altered their lives irrevocably.
JB: It's here where they're brought, or are discovered and brought here: a group home for kids who with 'special' circumstances.

Charlamaine Monroe: Okay, I see.
Charlamaine Monroe: I LOVE this idea.
Charlamaine Monroe: Please do it. c:
JB: Kids who are or were possessed are often referred by exorcists/'experts' to go here.
Charlamaine Monroe: Especially since it doesn't seem like it'll need to be TOO story-driven, and more character-driven
JB: Kids displaced by hauntings or things like that.
There ya go. I promise, it'll be a lot cooler once we start playing. You're all playing these new residents at this Halfway House, invited or brought here at the behest of a 'kindly old man' - the owner of this house. A kindly, old man that doesn't appear the same to anyone. At all.
