"Suddenly getting a magical tattoo sounds terrifying..." The blonde mumbled, curling his legs underneath him, grasping the back of the couch to steady himself for a few moments afterwards before relaxing somewhat. He realized that he was starting to not feel as steady, and did a mental search of having taken his meds (check!) and where everything he needed was. "Have you ever heard back from any of your clients? And no, thank you!"

"I dunno..." Saskia said, "I just feel like going out and stretching my legs. It is a nice day." "What're we supposed to do if you have no idea what you wanna do?" The other girl retorted.

"Nah. It's not that bad. Really." Lena said, attempting to ease the tension and add some of the positives into the mix with her new form of magic, one which she knew she would be working with for the rest of her life to perfect and understand. "Sure, there's... dangerous aspects of it. That I'm working out. On myself and volunteers."
"But the idea of just... creating new magical skills or focusing already powerful ones, that's great." She continued to explain, smiling at her own praise. "It's a whole new field of magic."
"I've... only ever done it on myself." She said, almost sounding depressed but peaked up a bit. "You sure? I make a fucking sick peanut butter and jelly sandwich."

"You alright, sweetheart?" Lena called out, walking into the room once more with a sandwich in one hand that she placed on the table, sitting next to the boy and combing his hair affectionately and looking him over carefully once more. "Do you want some aspirin?"
"I can give you an aspirin and take you home." She continued, standing up and walking to her bathroom, going through her medicine cabinet, scanning and grabbing a box, walking into the room with the nauseous Ryan again and getting a glass of water, sat next to him again. "May can take care of you. She's your girlfriend. That's her thing to do."

"I'm not really hungry either..." Amrita said, "Your Jester kind of made me lose my appetite. I dunno if I wanna go home just yet though. Me and my mom were fighting so I spent the night at May's."

He gave her a smile, the air gently warm after she ran her fingers through his hair.
"I'll be fine, I'm just trying to make sure that in case something bad does happen, I'm prepared and stuff. I really don't want to freak Liz out again. Thank you!"
He did, however, take the aspirin gladly with the last phrase, and looked to Amrita.
"Maybe you can come back over to May's with me? Maybe not for the night since her family's there - I'm not even staying - but yknow. For a little while longer."

"I'm so sorry about that, sweetheart. I really am." Lena apologized to Amrita, scooting closer to the nauseous boy seated on her couch. Wrapping her arm around the boy, she used her one freehand to comb through his hair affectionately, almost nursing him. "I'll have a talk with him. It probably won't help, but It's all I can do."
"I'd let you stay here, but... you probably wouldn't feel safe." She continued. "Even if I let you stay in my room and lock the door."
Standing up, Lena walked into her kitchen and scooped up her car keys, jingling them as she looked at the others and threw on her jacket.
"I should bring you two and the groceries back." Lena suggested, walking towards the door looking at the pair and smiling. "Ryan can have a bit of a rest. Get better."
"Come on. Let's get going." She cheered, laughing slightly. "Get on the road before all the groceries go off or some shit like that."

A good deal of time passed as May returned from traffic, most of her family in tow as she lead them through the forest.
"Nice location, I 'spose." Her father said, looking around. "Doesn't look like many people live 'ere."
"That's because most of them live in the city, daddy." The girl replied as they arrived to her cabin, leading them into the surprisingly large home.
"...Strange people, them."

Harley snorted, patting her husband on the back as they took their stuff in.
"That's Normals for you, Dear."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Thank you Lena! And I will, promise." The boy followed her down to her car then.
"Sweet. Come on." Lena said, throwing on her jacket to shield herself from the cold and smoothing out her hair, running her tattooed fingers through her dirty hair, wincing. She hated starting the day without a shower. Gripping her car keys in one hand, she wrapped her free arm around Ryan, leading him and Amrita to the car. "We all good?"
"If you feel like throwing up, tell me." She said, unlocking the car for the pair as she fell into the driver seat, turning on the ignition and immediately turning on the heater. "So I know."
With the drive being relatively quick, Lena pulled up next to May's parent's car, looking at the two for answers as she took the groceries out, almost spilling out of her hands as she sprinted up to the front door and rasped on it, before she attempted to open it.
"Bitch, where you at?" Lena called out loudly, before she walked in to find the girl, as well as her family, laughing awkwardly. She placed the groceries on the counter in the kitchen. "Hey."
Harley turned around to the group as the door opened, entertained by the outburst of the woman leading the small party carrying groceries. She was smiling, at least - Lena wouldn't be in trouble with them for that.
"Oh, Maybee, these must be your friends!"
She began to survey them. Lena, leading, didn't seem too bad - an orange aura, at least. The tattoos may have been a bit much, but Harley wasn't about to discriminate (especially as she had one herself, albeit in a much more discreet location). She seemed a little bit nervous and her hair was a little wild, but overall, she seemed good.
The next girl presented a little bit more of a challenge. She was also orange, albeit a much darker color. She seemed very reserved, she held herself low and inwards, and seemed to be trying to take up as little space as possible. She didn't look comfortable in this room, with these new people, either. Harley looked at her for a moment before deciding that she was probably good, and she'd just have to figure out more about her.
Her eyes drifted to the last in the party - and a barely detectable look, one that none of the party could decipher, flashed across her face. This was bad. This was very bad.
That didn't seem to stop said third from setting the groceries on the counter in the kitchen and coming back to stand quite excitedly by May.
"Hello, uhm-" his mind sought to figure out what exactly to call them. It decided on formal. "-Mr. and Mrs. Ansel! It's nice to meet you!"
It may have been the fact that he was mentally still a teen, but this felt like the sort of nervous first date where he'd go up to meet the parents, at the door, for the first time. And then he realized that he only really knew that feeling due to movies, never having actually had a first date like that yet.
"Maybee?" Lena mouthed, before she clapped her tattooed hands together and laughed, rummaging through the groceries as she began to put some of it away carefully, making sure that it didn't melt or go off quickly. "That's so fucking adorable. So beautiful."
"Maybee!" The Swedish girl called out. "We got your groceries! Come here and give your boyfriend a kiss!"
May nudged her boyfriend slightly to tell him to calm down, laughing awkwardly as she did.
"Mum, Dad, this is my boyfriend." She said, rather frantically at that, putting her arm over the blond. "His name is Ryan and I'm so sorry if he's acting a bit weird, he gets anxious easily!"
This was ignoring her own anxiety right now, because if this went badly, chances are she'd be dragged back to the forests of the English countryside (or back into Birmingham, if they were feeling more 'Normal'). The fact her father just laughed at the boy's awkwardness didn't help.
He even mumbled something unintelligible to people not used to particularly thick accents. Hell, even his daughter only understood 'Princess' out of that.
This was going to be so gods-damned awkward, wasn't it?
The boy gave a nervous smile as Lena called over and as May wrapped her arm around him. He took her hand, giving it a small squeeze. He was starting to feel really dizzy, especially now as even May was getting anxious. He listened to Daddy Ansel for a moment, and then said, quite quickly, "Oh, yes, of course I am! She's wonderful, why wouldn't I treat her like a princess?"
...The fact that he apparently understood probably came as quite a shock to the rest. It certainly was to Harley.
"Aye. That's gud, m'boy." Bishop replied, patting Ryan on the back with a laugh.
The fact Ryan could understand her father also shocked May quite a bit, even as she shot a glance at Lena to knock it off.
"...How in the hell can you understand him?" She asked, looking down at Ryan.
May would find that the space previously occupied by her beaming boyfriend was now vacant. His eyes shut for only about a second and he dropped, before catching himself. He wasn't hurt, but was just now extremely embarrassed, as he got himself back to stand straight on wobbly feet. His cheeks flared up, and the air suddenly became hot.
"S-sorry..."
He was still blushing as they sat down, staring at his feet and nodding.
"I'm sorry..."
Harley was looking around the group, and, trying to bring back a sense of relaxation (they were on vacation after all), she went to the kitchen to grab herself a cup of coffee.
"Bishop, Dear, do you want one? And May?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"...Goody?" Liz cautioned from her stance on the table, "...Is everything okay now?"
"It's fine!" The cat called back, bounding back up to the table as she slid off of it, getting picked up and carried back to the living room. "What even was that, Goody?"

Amrita, after greeting May, just sit awkwardly and watched the scene with May's parents.
"Uhh... I don't know if you guys know me," she said awkwardly, "But I'm one of May's friends. Sorry I'm not usually that...social..."
--------------- Saskia shrugged, "Man I dunno what to do. I'm just glad to be with someone for once who isn't dead and thinks its still politically correct to call me 'negro'"

The house was perfect. Not too large, not too small but just the right amount of living space a young woman like herself could live and maintain comfortably in while still having quite a few acres of land. True, much of those acres were forest but that would not be a problem for Elisabeth Wittelsbach.
"It's perfect!"
She exclaimed with a tone of giddy joy in her voice as she began to move the boxes in, mainly by trying carry as much as she could manage without toppling over. It would have been simpler to use a little magic and make all the boxes float into the house but it would have also been lazy on her part. After all, she had hands, she had legs...they were there for a reason so why not put them to use?
Still, it was clear that inactivity was not going to be a problem here. A lot of yard work would have to be done in the backyard to make it presentable and the old stable would have to be cleared out and cleaned before she could house Xaverl in there. The house's interior was no exception to this, either: it was already furnished but there would have to be a few changes to suit her tastes. Fortunately, she could afford these. And of course there was the cleaning to be done...
"So much to do, so little time...Best get started."
And with that, she resumed moving the boxes into the house.
As for the house's location, it just so happened to be located not far from May's house, though in a more wooded area of the neighborhood.

"I don't think you're ready for my jelly..." Lena murmured underneath her breath to the beat in her head, throwing her jacket onto the kitchen counter to reveal more of her tattooed form as she put the groceries away. Finished, she bundled the bags together and threw them out.
"I'm Lena." The Swedish girl introduced herself before she threw herself onto the couch, making herself at home and using one arm to wrap it around May, casually playing with her hair. She liked to fidget with people. "Maybee helps me out with my studio."
"Put all the shit away." She continued, looking at May. "You're welcome, Maybee."

"Oh, it's fine," Harley replied to Amrita, pouring coffee for those who wanted it and bringing it out to the living room, sitting as far away from the group as possible on one of the chairs. "Shyness is nothing to be ashamed of. And Studio, Lena?"
"Do you want to sit down?" The boy asked the adult man innocently. After all, there were plenty of chairs for them to sit in, if he wanted to sit on the couch and not the floor... but of course, the boy wasn't realizing the man might break it, being a half-giant.

Today, Gulu-Gulu, a coffee shop on Essex Street, was extremely crowded, with a band playing off to the side. Most of the crowd was, as typical for this time of year, tourists.
Lucy didn't mind though. Besides, Carrie technically would be considered a tourist, after all.
"Do you like this?" The young redhead asked, sipping on her drink and watching her brightly, "Or is it too loud?"

Liz gave an uncomfortable sigh.
"It's... okay, Goody. The next one will go better, right?"

Liz gave an uncomfortable sigh. "It's... okay, Goody. The next one will go better, right?" Goody shrugged, wiping her hair back as she moved to the sink, beginning to fill a large cooking pot with cold tap water. "Well, define better, hon," she replied, predisposed determination returning to her eyes, with a little childish glint. "I mean, it looks like if I stick with what I've got going here, I've got the whole 'solid mass' thing going for me. Which is nice. But, if I ease up on the fire salts and maybe invest in some eye of newt . . ." And like that, Goody was off on a tangent, listing ingredients and other spells that may or may not have existed, bringing her pot of water up to the simmering cauldron and dumping it in. In a flash of light and a puff of steam, the viscous liquid in the large pot simply evaporated, leaving mere condensation in an otherwise clean and dry container.
