"We don't want to attract their attention. As for who's going...Mr. Wraye, you're up; we could use someone of your expertise. Mr. Camp, you've got the maps so you're coming along as well. I'm coming along as well, that makes three...Vincent will be coming, too." A pause as she looked over Milo and Cicero. "Which one of you is more adept at concealing their presence from predator or prey?"

Vincent's eyes widened, and he stared at her.
"I... me?" He was, of course, at least marginally shocked - sure he was a fast swimmer where he was from, but... "I... I-I'd be honored," he finally finished, voice a bit faint.

"Oi, what? Hidin' and shit? Nah, cunt. That's Cockrow." Milo rambled, nudging the shy mess of flesh next to him, causing the Fishman to stagger and whimper. He dragged his claws up his arm, scraping the wet skin quietly before he nodded. "He'll get the shit done right, mate."
"I can hide. It helps when catching fish by hand." Cicero explained, before he nodded. "I might need help with my suit."

"Keeping attention off oneself has always been a key part of any hunts I've participated in." Wraye noted. Of course he wasn't really a hunter himself. At least not that kind. "Come on, I'll break down a suit, see if we can get it fitted to you. You don't seem to have very much of a torso do you? How comfortable are you with your dorsals being folded down?" He was already adding pieces to the gauntlets so that they would adapt to Cicero's forearm spines. The helmet would have to be split in half for the eyes, but that wasn't too much of a problem, there were enough bug eyed creatures of the deep that was standard on this level of gear. The major issue was the dorsal spines and the organic lantern. The quartermaster wasn't quite sure how to deal with that, and he was reasonably sure that Cicero wasn't going to enjoy wearing boots or mittens either, but even with this high quality and adaptable gear, there were limits to what could be done.
Cyprian was going to be an issue too, since his 'mer-tail' was in effect backwards from the standard. Not insurmountable, but it would require some work both on the part of the outfitter, and on his part to get used to having a new set of fins(or flippers, depending on how you looked at it) propelling him. Until they got used to it, they'd all probably be somewhat clumsy.

"Alright. With the addition of Cicero that makes five. How long do you think it might take to take apart those suits, Mr. Wraye?" In addition to suiting up and everything.

"Don't look like any hunting cunt I've ever met, mate." Milo gestured, head cocked to one side inquisitively as he inspected the man from head-to-toe, as well as his equipment. Growing up, Milo had seen influential Fishmongers who could only dream of the equipment this man had. "Don't bullshit us, cunt."
"I'd... prefer if I had as much of my original self as I can." Cicero murmured quietly, running his clawed talons along his dorsal fins. He waddled over and picked up a piece of equipment, testing it experimentally against himself before he set it back in the place he found it carefully. "It helps to cut the water and move."
"I know that I'm at risk, but... It's a smarter move." He continued. "I have speed over them and size. This might weigh me a bit."

"Not significantly longer than the suiting up itself takes." The quartermaster answered his captain, already getting Cicero suited. Well, getting the parts ready to let him suit himself. "Fifteen minutes. Conservative estimate."
"No bullshit." Lt. Cmdr. Wraye said, addressing Milo curtly. "We apparently just hunt different things."
He turned his attention back to Cicero and the gear he'd started laying out. "Try this then." He opened one of the compartments on the armor locker and pulled out what looked like an oversized glove for a man sized sharks fin. "I can set it into the back of your suit, let you still use your dorsals but also keep them protected."
"Let's see if we can get a working suit. I'll leave it to the captain to decide if you dive with us without gear, if that's your choice. I don't suggest it, but that's just my recommendation." He turned to the rest of the group. "Okay, everyone not diving, out please." He started unlocking the other lockers. "Everyone who is diving, strip down."

Trivia helped herself to one of the suits and headed for the captain's cabin to change into it, making sure her hair was suitably pinned up before slipping it on. When that was done, she donned the usual array of gear she'd need for the expedition as well, making sure everything was in place before stepping out onto the deck again.

The Quartermaster glared at the door as Trivia left for her privacy. Anyone who dove regularly should know that you did it in partners. Not because the dives were as dangerous as they used to be, if you were adapted to water breathing there was little to no chance of drowning, but because the gear was often complicated enough you needed a second set of hands to get it right. Diving these days was as hazardous as, back when there was enough land to enjoy these things, rock climbing or wilderness hiking. Infact, that danger rather than the depth or the time spent in the water was now what made 'diving' different from just 'swimming' particularly for an adapted.
"The straps need to be snug but not too tight." Lt. Cmdr. Wraye intoned, hiding his annoyance with the captain for leaving with a professional and much rehearsed lecture. "If you can fit your fingers under them comfortably, that's good. If you can tug on them and they're not tight against the surface that's bad." He stripped off most of his outfit and was standing in just his underwear as he started fitting on his own armored suit layer by layer. "When you get to needing the zipper done, ask for help." The zipper in question involved two flaps to keep it from touching or rubbing anything directly, and was up the spine, in short hard to handle. "Head gear goes on before you close your neck line, as it tucks under." Not fully suited himself, the quartermaster started checking over everyone else to make sure even the strangest body type was properly suited to survive shaking hands with a Tuska.

Vincent was pretty must just fine with the lack of modesty going around - he was after all from a big family. He stripped down, pulling the suit on and getting help with the zippers and headgear and everything else before standing, unsteadily, against the railings to wait for Lt. Cmdr. Wraye to look him and the others over.

Cyprian shrugged and began immedietely stripping down, with no cares about human modesty. To make things more awkward, he only put on the aa top to act as a diving suit, afer all he was going to morph on the bottom. He wraped a piece of cloth around his bottom half that wouldn't shred when he went from a human bottom to a fish bottom, for the sake of the others.

Lt. Cmdr. Wraye lay out proper segmented suit parts for Cyprian, so his tail wouldn't be exposed when he swam. "If you want you can leave off the plates until we're ready to dive, but I'd like you to try them on for fitting purposes."

"Oh wow you found some for equine mermaids? Those can be pretty hard to find" Cyprian said. He laid down and morphed forms, flopping around as he struggled to put the plates on.

"Technically they are for the standard mer-folk." The quartermaster explained. "But given the lobster configuration they suit your rare configuration as well." He knelt down and reversed a few of the plates so that they fit better. "The suits are modular for that reason, and if put together correctly will adjust to you, in particular the curling at the tip. I suggest you practice some swimming with it, as your tail will have a fair amount more surface area. It might be a little different at first for you, having this weight on your tail."
With Cyprian pretty much covered he moved on to the next person who might need help, waiting for the Captain to get back before cracking open the buckets of slime.

She reappeared at that moment, rejoining her chosen team and walking to stand where the buckets where. "Hmm...Do these need a certain type of procedure in order to open them or can we try simpler measures, Mr. Wraye?"

"Open the buckets?" He asked. "No, just open them like any other bucket with a lid. The gel stinks, and you need to rub it on your armor. After that we should get into the water immediately, the gel dries out quickly."

Trivia nodded and opened the lid of one of said buckets, making sure to rub it all over her suit, then placing the lid in place before sprinting across the deck towards the starboard side and taking a leaping dive into the water.

"Alright, looks like we're diving then." Wraye said, somewhat annoyed with his Captains lack of professionalism. He was expecting a final checklist before the dive, or some instructions on exactly what they're searching for, or something. Instead he was left sitting here with tuska symbiote mucus stinking up the deck. He did his best to slap big handfuls onto everyone as they came past him, trying to slather them as heavily as possible. The more of this mucus, the less the tuska would think they were out of place in their mating grounds.

Once everyone was in the water, Trivia glanced up towards those remaining aboard. "Keep an eye on things topside and give us an alert if anything happens. We'll do the same on our end."
She took a moment to look at her diving team, all of them treading water.
"Everyone ready?"
