Anyone who knows what Unit: E I'm referring to, it sorta spoils the 'surprise' for this.
And this is going to be an extremely ambitious project on my part. I'm not sure I can make this work honestly. I KNOW it won't work if I don't get support though.
EDIT: Which I'm not.
I can't tell you what it's about, exactly. I can just hope you trust me enough to at least let me try to make it work. I can tell you that it's something that's being constantly bantered about here, though probably not as intended. I can also tell you the theme for it... this is going to be light hearted, action oriented, 80's cartoon. Good guys will be good guys, bad guys will be incompetent fools backstabbing each other and calling retreat as soon the plot requires the good guys to win, the power of friendship, all that.
Now, sign ups will be done by PM. Send me a PM of your favorite 80s(or 80's ish) cartoon character(you'll be assigned an expy of that character to better fit in with everyone else... in fact if you want to (re)name your expy I'd accept that) OR an original character from an "80's-ish" original work of yours. I'll need at least one episode summary of your original work to get a feel for it and the character your going to play.
Please no 'superhero' genre characters/shows(Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends or The SuperFriends comes to mind, Darkwing Duck is borderline and if you really think you can run with it, go ahead), I don't want this to edge into Triumph City's territory too much. Also no super sentai like groups(Guardians of the Brink has that covered too... okay given that Voltron was pretty Sentai I'll allow them, but nothing that steps on Brinks thing). Other than that, please, go crazy. Obscure, mainstream, whatever you would like to play as. Initially envisioning this like MASK, G.I.Joe, He-Man, ThunderCats, Jem, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, even My Little Pony, but then figured that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pirates of Dark Water, and similar should be allowed too(so I included "80's-ish" making it that STYLE(a merchandise driven adventure show, male or female audience it doesn't matter) rather than that actual time period).
This post will be edited and updated with further instructions once I start getting PMs. I'll also explain what "Unit: E" is, for those being good and not looking up the obscure reference.
EDIT:
The idea being Unit:E is that all of our forum RPs, including the ones that never actually started up, exist in a multiverse. Certain characters, primarily 'mentor' and high power types, know of the multiverse and interact with other realities, but if two universes start 'contaminating' each other too much, if too many "Crossovers" are "Authored" the separate realities will merge into one, generally causing much confusion and peril for the individuals of the separate realities. Thus the "Cross Overseers" try their best to halt, or at least slow, such contamination, even though they're not completely sure if it's natural or 'man made'(most suspect that it's 'man made' hence why the term "Authored" is used).
The results of a massive crossover can be seen in the reality code named TS8bits, and as such anything TS8bits is attached to has been cordoned off by the Cross Overseers as too dangerous to interact with. That doesn't stop unscrupulous individuals from sneaking to author crossovers for their own benefit.
Thus the Cross Overseers have sanctioned five patrol units, A through E. These Units are made up of a team of heroes from various realities, and have joined forces in order to safe guard the multiverse from unsanctioned crossovers. Unit:E is the newest, with the youngest recruits.

Okay I've started to get PMs... okay... IMs over Skype but still... I'm still not giving anyone a character skeleton yet since the setting is still nebulous at this point. But! Here's what I have:
Your character is to be from an 80s-ish cartoon that you pick or make up yourself. Making up a show whole cloth is much more work, but gives you much more control over the character, since if you pick a real show, _I_ will twist it into an expy to better fit in with the rest of the multiverse.
Your character is to have a role in that cartoon. You don't have to be the main character, you don't even have to be a major supporting character, but your character has to exist in the world of the cartoon and have contributed something notable to it.
The character has to be a 'good guy'. Or at least moral enough that they'd work together with the good guys against a common foe on a regular basis. MOST villains are to be left out, but there are some villains who are more 'rivals' than actually evil(in the above examples JEM's main antagonists work, but not really any of the others since they are mostly card carrying villains of evilness) who would work as player characters for this.
And finally, the major thing, you need to come up with why(and how) your character 'left' the show to be recruited into "Unit:E" by the Crossoverseers.
ONE of you gets the lucky position of working out the why and how in character. But I figured this MiB parody can only have one Agent Jay, can't have everyone as the rookie newbie.
EDIT: Warrior of Light Penny has earned the right to be our "Agent Jay" newbie. Everyone else who joins will get a briefing on things. Her character is a little orphan girl who died young and now exists in limbo(along with some other lost souls), turning limbo into a paradise of joy and friendship through her optimism(and rather potent magical powers). She interacts with her living world(treated as another reality in the multiverse) indirectly, causing natural phenomenon(rainbows, flowers, etc) to be seen and appreciated by humanity. In effect she's giving back the joy she believes the real world has that was denied to her. Most of her magic relates to her mood, and as such weakens when she is feeling sad or without hope.
Her character is based on Rainbow Brite.

Alknostorm has also signed up as Tiye. A pirate girl from a fantasy-esque world with strange creatures and some organic technology that is currently in the high age of sail, making it a pirate and swashbuckling setting primarily. An eldrich abomination has been unleashed that is currently trying to absorb the planet, but is being held in check by The Thirteen. Despite this, the Dark Dweller is still testing the bounds of it's prison, and trying to escape, or influence the greed of others to release it. Tiye herself is an able sailor, agile and nimble, trained in swordsmanship and has recently started to pick up 'ecomancy' or the ability to attune herself to an ecology and learn from it as well as influence it in ways, often creating a 'St. Elmos Fire' around herself when doing so.
Her character is based on Tula from Pirates of DarkWaters
{EDIT: explaining the reference.} "Unit:E" was a 2011 SDCC comic book by Hasbro featuring characters from Jem, Micronauts, M.A.S.K. and other series, including a minor tie-in to Transformers, G.I.Joe and even CandyLand. It even went so far as to "Easter Egg" other 80s cartoons into it, such as Centurions, even though they were not owned by Hasbro and couldn't be directly portrayed.
The titular "Unit:E" was a mysterious team detailed in the issue. They are a group of explorers who investigate the "Eerie, the Else, the Eternities of Infinity." (Great work if you can get it.) They operate from a "phase station" that exists "in the slipstream" outside of the normal space-time continuum. Undetectable there, they protect reality(or realities, given that this works in the multiverse concept) from the outside.
