In short- we're making our own countries, and playing the leaders therein. It's going to be a very character-driven story - wars can start up, royals can be assassinated or kidnapped and held for ransom, marriages can happen - quite literally, whatever you want! As an FYI, this is semi-fantasy, so in a way, anything goes - but it's more set in the 'medieval' sort of fantasy, so don't try to do something ultra-modern. COUNTRY NAME:STATUS: (Rich, poor, somewhere in the middle? Military, agricultural, or something else?) SIZE: (Compare it to another country if you want) MONARCHY: (character sheets go here, lovelies) OTHER DETAILS: (EVERYTHING ELSE - the real meat and potatoes of the country bio) NAME: AGE: APPEARANCE: STATUS: (king, queen, empress, knight, palace groundskeeper, etc. etc.) BIO: {Adolia - Al and Penny} COUNTRY NAME: Adolia STATUS: Rich, both with money and with resources. Open trading center. SIZE: Comparable to Estonia. MONARCHY: House Bissette. NAME: Arielle Bissette AGE: 37 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img849/3091/l9vi.pngSTATUS: Crowned queen - Adolia has belonged to her family for centuries, and thus her biological daughter will be the queen. BIO: Arielle was the middle child, with a younger sister and an elder brother - the status of which landed her the crown, much to her brother's dismay. She was a very standard crowned princess, learning strategies alongside the usual lessons of etiquette, arts and decorum. Arielle, however, never really had the mind for such things - which is why it was a wonderful opportunity when she joined in partnership with Adalet, who succeeded in the mental pursuits that she did not. Like all queens, both women took husbands, and Arielle took for hers a dark-skinned knight by the name of Dominique. Though he became an earl due to such a position, he remained dedicated to his profession, ultimately dying in a border skirmish some time after their daughter was born. Arielle isn't the most attentive mother to either of her daughters (as her partner's daughter is in fact considered her own just as well), but her own daughter loves her just the same and often vies for her attention. NAME: Adalet Bissette AGE: 40 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img27/4619/8xud.pngSTATUS: Partnered/non-native Queen BIO: Adalet is the younger sibling of King Arslan Solak of Leress, a neighbor nation of Adolia. Due to her homeland having a male heir, she was quickly arranged to marry Arielle of the neighboring nation, the marriage occurring when the two were teenagers. Ironically, the non-native queen is considered to be a more competent ruler than the native- owing to Adalet's more tactically and logistically orientated mind. Adalet had her daughter, Angelique, first, and, rather than giving her a governess, has devoted much of her time to teaching her everything she'll need to know in the future. Adalet executed her husband, Jourdaine, eight years after Angelique was born - for treason and crimes against the royal family. This has had very little effect on herself, as they were never a close couple, but she does fear for its effects on her daughter. NAME: Angelique Bissette AGE: 15 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img845/6827/pox2.pngSTATUS: Princess - to be married off, as her mother is the partnered queen. BIO: Angelique is the elder of the two royal daughters by ten years. Her mother is Adalet, the partnered queen, which means that Angelique has no real claim to Adolia's throne - though she would have, if Arielle were unable to produce a daughter. Angelique, under the teachings of her mother (who refused to get a governess, prefering a much more hands-on approach) has learned much of the things her sister will learn, as well as extra bits about survival, war, and justice that her mother tossed in. Overall, Angelique is a very gentle and shy girl, and is not very happy with the fact that her mothers are planning on holding a celebration in her honor on her sixteenth birthday to find someone to marry her off to... NAME: Charlotte Bissette AGE: 5 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img716/4900/1gvd.pngSTATUS: Crown princess BIO: Charlotte is the younger princess, and as the daughter of Queen Arielle (the native queen), the heir to the throne. Charlotte generally is kept away from the politics, both internal and international, due to her age- after all, the girl barely has a grasp on written language, much less being able to learn political affairs (nor does she have the attention span for it). Despite her mother's inattentiveness, Charlotte generally is trying to catch Arielle's attention, and that of her sister's when she fails. NAME: Mirabelle Lebleu AGE: 24 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img62/821/td67.pngSTATUS: Countess BIO: Mirabelle is the only surviving child of Earl Adrien and wife Countess Katarin, and as such the direct heiress to the county the two owned. The woman herself is somewhat unremarkable- a bit of a fiery redhead and still full of youthful energy, for sure, but otherwise a slightly bland, typical noblewoman in Adolia. However something of note is how Mirabelle, oddly, is unmarried for her age- and has no plans to do so in the near future. As of late, Mirabelle has been getting a particular bit of attention from the nation's two queens, leading to a spat of gossip amongst the works at the royal castle. OTHER DETAILS: Adolia is a matriarchy, a society where women are held at a higher esteem than men. The vast majority appointed nobility are all women, though men can be born or married into such graces. Strong, young men are always encouraged to train to be a knight; for the majority, however, the best they can be is a successful farmer, merchant, entrepreneur or sailor. In this society, innocence, chastity and purity are valued, and young persons are expected to uphold these ideals with utmost respect. Both of these things are due to their religion set in place at least a century previous, under which the country has thrived. The nation is traditionally ruled by two queens; one from the royal House Bissette, and another from either a noble house or another country, though the two queens usually are not romantically involved. {Leress - Penny} COUNTRY NAME: Leress STATUS: Poor, agricultural. SIZE: Pretty much as small as Luxembourg. MONARCHY:NAME: Arslan Solak AGE: 48 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img593/7016/1ovs.pngSTATUS: King BIO: Arslan is the eldest of several children in the Solak family line, though due to diseases only he and his younger sister Adalet survived to adulthood. He is still quite close with his younger sister, but remains in his own kingdom, and has never seen beyond its borders - in fact, he's afraid to leave his kingdom, as he has heard stories about what can happen to those in other countries. He married somewhat old for a young man, to a beautiful common young woman named Hande. He loved her dearly, but she died during childbirth with their son Cemil. Arslan can be hard on his son at times, but loves him dearly and is extremely proud of the young man he has grown up to become. NAME: Cemil Solak AGE: 20 APPEARANCE: imageshack.us/a/img856/8373/hwst.pngSTATUS: Prince BIO: Cemil is a dashing young man, hardworking, and genuine. He is also Arslan's first and only son. He never knew his mother, as she died during childbirth, and was raised entirely by his father and various people in the kingdom. He considers his childhood uneventful, and thus doesn't dewll on it much. In truth, all he wants is to leave his country and see the outside world and what it's like - and considers the news of his cousin's coming-of-age as a great opportunity. OTHER DETAILS: Leress is a standard monarchy, for the most part. However, they don't seem to really have the whole 'nobility' thing in place - as a poor nation, even the royal family works to some extent. Leress has very few knights - just enough to double the amount of royals they have - but its citizens have the right to form militias to protect the country in case of an attack.

COUNTRY NAME: Shinoshita STATUS: Middling, originally an agricultural power, but slowly and steadly building in military strength. SIZE: While its basis is Japan, the Shinoshita Archipelago, is around the size of Hawaii, but consists of 4 islands. MONARCHY: House Shinoshita (bios coming when I think of them) NAME: Masashiro Shinoshita AGE: 80 APPEARANCE: STATUS: King BIO: King Masashiro has been the king for the past 50 years, and has had one of the most celebrated reigns of the Shiroshita line. However while to the public eye he is still seen as the young idealistic man he was when he first took the throne he has become rather... grumpy and unreasonable in his elder years especially around those who live and work in the palace. Many of his advisors eagerly await his death, so that they can steer the country into directions the king refuses to do out of tradition, but the man is very much the pinnacle of health, meaning that his death might need to come from a not natural source. NAME: Hajime Shinoshita AGE: 40 APPEARANCE: STATUS: Crown Prince BIO: It took 10 years for King Masashiro to produce an heir that survived childhood, and that heir is Prince Hajime. Unlike his father, the Prince is very outgoing and personable, but also very idealistic and a bit impressionable. Many in Shinoshita, eagerly await his accension to the throne, as they believe he can be easily manipulated to take the country into directions his father refuses to do. NAME: Setsuna Shinoshita (nee Nagato) AGE: 38 APPEARANCE: STATUS: Princess Consort BIO: NAME: Hikaru Nagato (usually referred to as only Nagato) AGE: 65 APPEARANCE: STATUS: Royal Advisor BIO: NAME: Momoka Shinoshita AGE: 16 APPEARANCE: STATUS: Princess BIO: NAME: Yurina Shinoshita AGE: 10 APPEARANCE: STATUS: Princess BIO: OTHER DETAILS: The Shinoshita Archipelago was originally known as the Morto Archipelago, a chain of islands that's plant life and animal life was so deadly and untameable, no one settled it... until 300 years ago, foreigners from across the ocean came to the islands, having split off after a bloody civil war in their homeland. To the surprise of the mainlanders, the tenacious foreigners managed to tame the islands, led by their leader Haruto Shinoshita, who later declared himself king, and was the starting point of House Shinoshita's lineage, along with naming the country itself after him. COUNTRY NAME: Iaco STATUS: A heavily militarized nation at this time, however, so far it still maintains the wealth it once had. SIZE: Moderately sized, neither large nor small, able to challenge another nation or two easily on the continent it's on. While the fantasy setting somewhat implies a smaller, more intimate, setting(implying all our 'nations' are fit on a section of land as big as Britain or Japan), it's best to think of the size being similar to Germany when compared to the rest of the European block. We'll have to see how big our "European block" turns out to be. MONARCHY: (see below for better details) OTHER DETAILS: As of only recently the nation of Iaco was a benevolent republic, ruled by elected senators and governors. Highly civilized and advanced, many educated and learned scholars came from Iaco, and great works of art and architecture were what the nation was known for. It was formed from a gathering of seven city states to create a network of government that protected each city state under it, but has since grown from that into what was, arguably, the height of civilization. Unfortunately, this came from the sweat of laborers, and the elections were easily bought. This led to civil unrest as the wealthy continued to grow more prosperous, and the lower classes failed to share in the benefits. A revolt was staged in the mountain city state of Tarn, as a miner named Melach rose his way in the gladiator ranks and gathered a massive following of supporters, then proceeded to visit other city states and stir their civil unrest to higher degrees before staging a concerted strike against the Senate and ruling class. Melach promised to destroy the corrupt rulers of the nation, abolish the strict caste system holding people in their place and bring a higher standard of living to the people. So far he's managed to replace the ruling system with his own(having needed to broker some deals with certain rulers of city states in order to gain support he has not replaced everyone, those most self serving remain in power because they backed him), replaced the caste system with a military system, and discovered that because of the cost of all the changes he's brought the standard of living on average has actually decreased(it's being felt more by the middle class than the lower class now though, as those who are educated are no longer designing aquaducts, building homes, and teaching medicine but are being forced to work in the fields and mines as serfs, the lower classes actually have noticed a rise in their lifestyle, no longer needing to work as much for their meager rations). Melach is currently seeking legitimacy from the other nations as he builds his military strength to expand Iaco outward. For his plan to better his people to work he needs more wealth than the nation of Iaco currently has. That means forging alliances, or conquering.
The City-States that make up "Iaco" includes the central/ruling city-state of Iaco itself, followed by Tarn(in the mountains), Nyo, Kao(guarding the mountain passes against neighboring nations), Uraya, Praxus(port town, former center of trade badly damage in the take over), and Prahix(port town). For pronounciation help, all the "o"s are pronounced as in the word "on"(it sometimes helps if you pause before saying them. "Kah-on" "Nigh-on" "Eye Ack-On".
NAME: Melach of Tarn AGE: Young Adult(harshly aged) APPEARANCE: Tall, broad shouldered, muscular, hard angled. His face has weathered into a perpetual harsh glare it seems, and his originally light skin has darkened. He's not exactly un-handsome, but he's certainly not trying to be attractive. Nor does he go for displays of intimidation, though he certainly has a charismatic force to his presence. He typically wears greys or browns, undyed armor or cloths, and goes for a streamlined functionality to everything he does. Stark and unadorned, his face and head clean shaven. STATUS: Current ruler of Iaco, former son of a miner turned gladiator slave. He is looking for a bride from another nation to secure his legitimacy as ruler. BIO: Melach was born in the mines high in the mountains in the north of Iaco, where he lived a harsh life. The climate and living conditions were usually enough to kill most of his caste, and when others saw that this boy was surviving the did they best to put a stop to that. Declared a slave(debatably a step up from what he had been) he was thrown into the gladiatorial pits where he learned to kill and to think quickly, tactically. His record beating string of victories afforded him further teachers, as other slaves joined to him and taught this 'rising star' what they knew. He learned to cut deals and organize people. As the gladiator he traveled the city states and saw the conditions of life most serfs lived, and the conditions that the senators who took him for their pleasure lived. This injustice would not stand in his heart, and he forced the issue, drawing further supporters even as he worked to destabilize the already weak and corrupt governments of the city states. He found a kindred soul in Othom, debating political and philosophical points with his good friend when he could. When he finally confronted the Senate, his forces behind him ready to further the destruction of the great edifaces they had built, he was betrayed. The Senate to submit their authority and surrender, admitting their flaws and giving in to all of Melach's demands... but giving in to Othom, not Melach. The rage at his friends betrayal drove him to slay the senate and their families, as well as reduce much of their works to ruins simply out of spite.
NAME: Othom of Praxus AGE: Roughly same age as his 'brother' Melach APPEARANCE: Tall, broad of shoulders, handsome and soft. Almost fatherly in appearance, his beard giving him the appearance of a greater age than he really has. STATUS: Exiled. Officially recognized true ruler of Iaco, by election of the senate(one of their final acts before being destroyed). BIO: He grew as the son of a dock worker often working along his family in shipping cargo from one boat to the next, he learned the value of hard work, honor, loyalty, and dedication. But his family wanted more of him, and so they sent him to schooling, where he became a learned figure, teaching others. One such student who was drawn to him was Melach, and the two became close friends, enjoying many debates and learning much from each other. Othom supported Melach in his quest, though Othom himself did not know of the more savage, destructive, methods Melach and some of his followers were taking. When Melach forced his way to the senate Othom stood beside his 'brother in all but blood' and supported him, lending his voice of support. When the senate surrendered itself to the inevitable, Othom was shocked that he, and not Melach, had been chosen to lead the nation of Iaco. Othom was also shocked at Melachs rage at this betrayal, his brother no longer listening to his protests but instead drawing to the darker more destructive path, destroying great works of art, aquaducts and bridges in order to 'hurt the senate' which seemed to be making as hasty a retreat as possible during the confusion. Othom decided that his best option would be to voluntarily exile himself from the kingdom, and has not been seen since.
NAME: Scrimshaw of Kao AGE: Appears to be the same age as Melach, but in fact is older. Cosmetics help. APPEARANCE: Sharp featured and angular, attractive and roguish with a quick smile and quicker laugh that always seems mocking. Her hair is long(often braided and tied up however) a dark brown that seems to have natural tones of red mingled in it. STATUS: Noble, ruler of Kao(and thus a commander of Iaco's military) BIO: She read the tide of politics and sided with Melach early on, managing to maintain her position of power as Melach took over the nation. She has been his on again off again lover for some time, but their relationship has never been all that trusting.
NAME: Solanae of Uraya AGE: Adult verging on elder. APPEARANCE: Originally a somewhat hard woman, she has grown to be a pleasant looking, if matronly, woman as she has been allowed to gain weight. Her features are soft and kind, though her eyes can often hold much hardness. STATUS: Melach's adviser. BIO: Solanae was one of many slaves who, while unable to help directly with military matters, still found a way to lend support to Melach's cause. She has been a midwife and often a nursemaid, it's said that many children have come from her breasts(though not her loins) to become great leaders and warriors. She now acts as an adviser and a spymaster, being able to put together information from the reports of many sources, including it is rumored, that she can speak with birds and vermin to learn the secrets of Melach's foes.

COUNTRY NAME: Carnifex Wastes/Vykingyr. STATUS: Poor, albeit sitting (figuratively and literally) on a goldmine of resources and minerals. A collection of warrior tribes. SIZE: Canada, north-most section of the world. MONARCHY:
NAME: Svipdagr Vindkald. AGE: 47. APPEARANCE: STATUS: King. BIO:
NAME: AGE: 17. APPEARANCE: The spitting image of his father, Phryx looks like the familiar of most of the warrior caste. Tall, with a hard packed body of lean muscle, his entire face tattooed as is the custom of his tribe. He has gone blind in his left-eye, poorly healed over from a scar.
STATUS: Warrior-Prince. BIO: A miracle in his birth, due to the age of his father at the time of conception, Thrax is the prodigal son of Phryx. Groomed since the time he could walk for leadership, Thrax was educated by his father and from chosen companion's, both from the Carnifex Wastes and the outside world, namely Adolia.
Like his father, Thrax walks the line of leading and protecting his people, taking up the task that his father, now overcome from age, can no longer continue, much to his shame. Among his people, Thrax is loved for his honest and integrity, tolerated by the larger community due to his blood relations and drive to protect his land and hated by the outside world for his drive for the Carnifex Wastes to remain isolated, untouched by the outside world who would see it cut to pieces for their resources.
NAME: Sabine Trajan. AGE: 37. APPEARANCE: Barely a head in height above most other women, Sabine is alike with most women from the Carnifex Wastes in that she has a powerful build, a carry-over from a time when women would hunt and kill just as much as the men. She has a round face with a squat nose and almond shaped eyes. She has long, brown hair that she keeps pinned back and away from her face, as not to interfere.
She has a series of tattoos along her mouth and lips, as well as around her eyes, not as heavy as her male equivalents in her tribe. STATUS: Warrior-Queen/Political Adviser. BIO: The mother of Thrax, the unity of Sabine and Phryx seemed like an odd one from the beginning, namely due to the age difference, with Phryx already in his fifties and Sabine barely out of her teens, many considered her homing with their chief purely out of position.
However, Sabine has continued to stay by her husband's side and even guide him on the political machinations that have arrived from the interconnection of all of their tribes, which has caused conflict due to their varied religions, customs, titles, positions and history.
Many consider her lucky, due to her ability to birth Thrax even due to her husband's advanced age, with many among the tribes coming to her, almost revering her as a fertility goddess. Much like her husband, son and many of the people of her tribe, Sabine is well-versed in the art of warfare.
It was often that women would have to defend their home from the creatures of the Carnifex Wastes or from warring tribes who would seek to enslave and rape the women while the men were at war or hunting. While the latter is less likely to happen nowadays, the practice is still continued anyway.
OTHER DETAILS: The Carnifex Wastes itself is a horrible place to live, a place where no man not born of the land could live. Surrounded in perpetual darkness, wracked by blizzards and blistering cold, much of the land was roamed by feral men who practiced mutilation and cannibalism until Phryx's arrival.
However, despite having been given the chance, Phryx, and his people, refuse to leave their land. They are fiercely territorial and take great enjoyment in the scars and callouses that they have earned. They consider the other countries weak in comparison, with no martial honor or duty.
For the people of the Wastes, the tribe is everything. The Law of the Jungle dictates that the wolf is the pack and the pack is the wolf, an example that they all follow. Crimes against the tribe were met with instant vengeance with exile into the wastes, a death sentence.
There aren't many social justice issues to be found among the tribes. Women and men are held in equal status, with King and Queen considered a cooperative leadership and homosexuality was considered acceptable among warriors.
Those who could not support or assist the tribe were generally mercy killed or left out in the cold.
The military system of the Carnifex Wastes is adaptive and reliant on guerrilla warfare when facing outsiders. However, the land itself is more likely to kill an invading force than anything else, as no one can truly prepare for the horror that is the Carnifex Wastes.

Country Name: Reich von Ke-Akhetaten ("Black Horizon of the Aten")/Empire of Ke-Akhetaten Status: Rich both in money and resources. Formidable in many areas (military, agriculture, etc) but especially in culture. Size: Around the size of the Hun Empire Imperial Clan: Clan Amarna Name: Helene Amarna Age: Middle-aged (?) Appearance: A tall stately woman standing at 5'10 (more with heels) with long, dark, slightly graying auburn hair reaching almost to her knees and piercing olive-green eyes. Status: Kaiserin/Empress Bio: The leader of the nation, she is often caught up with running her domain or grooming her children to rule in her place. Every now and then she does make an effort to take a break and spend time with family. She takes her duties seriously and has proven an able ruler and politician. Name: Henutawwy Amarna Age: 17 Appearance: Status: Princess Bio: The third princess, and possibly her mother's favorite daughter. She is an ardent supporter of the arts, particularly music and literature, always keeping an eye or ear out for a promising artist. Henutawwy is also one of an unconventional bent, doing things that are considered untraditional for princesses. Other family members (to be edited): -Gyula Malkatta-Amarna (Imperial Consort) -Seth Amarna (Crown Prince) -Zitta Amarna (Crown Princess) -Rameses Amarna (2nd Prince) -Margarite Amarna (2nd Princess) Other Details: Going by the ancient creed of lassen Sie die fröhliche Apokalypse entfalten ("Let the joyful apocalypse unfold"), the Empire of Ke-Akhetaten encourages change and the chaos that follows while at the same time upholding some measure of stability. This leads to a highly active political scene, where much of the nobility is often engaged in trying to one-up one another, the original source of these conflicts often being grievances of any form escalating into feuds between Clans. The foremost and most powerful of these Clans is the Imperial House, Clan Amarna, which has ruled since the founding of the Empire. Originally, the nation was a collection of scattered regions under the control of individual Clans, which eventually banded together to form a vast territory under Kaiserin Smenkhare-Neferneruaten Amarna I. The trend of succession within the Clans operates along, but not quite, matriarchal lines, leading to many Clans being ruled by women known as Matriarchs, though it is not uncommon to see male rulers. That said, it is hard to say just how many operate behind the scenes in politics. As for the common folk, they're generally not affected by the feuds between the nobles unless there was open war going on between one Clan and another. Fortunately, Clan Amarna keeps the nobility well in line. It is a progressive nation in the sense that despite its matriarchal bent, both genders can be given equal opportunities and even chances to progress beyond their station, leading to a few Noble Clans in the hierarchy that had originally been humble merchants, etc. Ke-Akhetaten is a Polytheist nation, though it has a few major cults that are more popular than the rest of their pantheon. However, it is always made essential to honor each and every god. In addition, the Clans have the tradition of adopting a deity as their patron, though surprisingly few have claimed to be descended from said deity. Notes: Clothing trends seem to be an amalgam of New Dynasty Egypt and Ptolemaic Egypt. Nation is a crossover between Austrian Empire and New Dynasty-Ptolemaic Egypt. Naming trends are both Ancient Egyptian and German.

{Spoiler}COUNTRY NAME: Aventine. STATUS: Rich. The main exports of Aventine are slaves, religion, iron, gold and steel. Heavily militarized, religious state. SIZE: The Holy Roman Empire at its peak. MONARCHY:
NAME: Sors Diomedes, the Great Shepherd. AGE: Almost into his nineties. APPEARANCE: Despite his advanced age, Sors barely looks a day over forty. He has a statuesque build, lean cut muscle and an impossible stature. His face is stern, with a shaven skull. He has numerous scars surrounded his scalp in a circular pattern, almost like a crown.
While he will often parade around in utilitarian armor of iron and steel. Diomedes himself is never without his cloak, a ragged patchwork mess of colors and symbols, torn and ripped. It is the combined flags of the most brutal tribes and nations to face Diomedes, those who earned his respect, surrounding the central image of Sors Diomedes himself. STATUS: God-King. BIO: No one can truly say where Sors Diomedes came from. The general populace believes him to be the manifested will and faith of their God, his most loyal servant. Sors Diomedes would keep it this way, preferring to be a symbol to rally to, a concept and unifying being.
In actuality, his story is much more disturbing in nature. Long before the genocide of magic, the shamans of the tribe Sors Diomedes would eventually belong to ordered the ritualistic, mass suicide of their entire tribe in an attempt to achieve ascension. Hundreds of souls formed the one manifest being of Sors Diomedes, who would later be found by a shepherd and his wife, crying, surrounded by hundreds of dead with their throats' slit.
He grew at an advanced rate, both mentally and physically. By the time he was ten, he was already defending his flock of sheep by himself with all but his raw ferocity, with the mental acuity of a wizened elder.
At the age of fifteen, the town he was raised in was razed by enemies from several clans, who came to loot, rape and pillage the agricultural society. After uniting his people, they pushed back the enemy, all the way to their homes and slaughtered them all.
Making the mothers, sisters, daughters and grandmothers carry the heads of their loved ones, Sors Diomedes paraded them around to the other tribes. They knelt to him immediately. To keep the collection of clans united, Sors Diomedes used the imagery and symbols of a Great Shepherd to unite his people, give them a cultural identity to continue towards despite their bitter rivalries and hatred.
By the time he was sixteen, five more tribes joined their rank. At the age of twenty, they were fifty strong. By the age of thirty, almost eighty. Now, hundreds. From the idea of a Great Shepherd came the religion of Aventine, distorted and twisted beyond its original purpose, yet fulfilling its purpose nonetheless, with Sors Diomedes at the head of it all.
NAME: Homunculus. AGE: Impossible to tell, albeit he started appearing at the side of his master some twenty years ago. APPEARANCE: A large, hulking mass of patch-work skin of varying tones and burnt flesh, the Homunculus is covered in iron-plates that are sewn into his skin. He has a smooth face, bare save for eyes filled with a savage intelligence that constantly track everything around him.
He carries a weapon the length of a tall man, a metal blade, jagged and serrated, made of the weapons of those he himself, in single combat, bested. STATUS: Lictor. BIO: The true nature of the Homunculus is hidden from all but Sors Diomedes himself, his personal pet project and now body guard that follows him around loyally. No one has seen the Homunculus eat, sleep or drink, let alone converse with anyone if he could.
Despite his disturbing visage, Diomedes treats him as if a faithful hound. The two are inseparable, with Diomedes often seen lovingly talking to the Homunculus.
NAME: Aximand Koira. AGE: 45. APPEARANCE: The former soldier has aged terribly throughout the years. He has a rounded face, haggard and wrinkled, with a mouth full of damaged, crooked teeth. He has almond shaped green eyes, lined with bags and a cleft lip, cleaved in two from a blade.
His head is bare, save for a top knot of ragged hair that he keeps pinned up, giving him an imposing stature. He has a lithe build of hard packed muscle the color of charcoal that is beginning to sag from inactivity. After his injury, Aximand is now fitted with a specially crafted leg of gold and steel, detailing his history, albeit still requires crutches to get around. STATUS: Legatus. BIO: Originally a warrior in one of the myriad of conquered tribes, Aximand showed promise right from the beginning. His tribe had fought Sors Diomedes for months in the desert, never once bending a knee or giving in, despite the thirst, heat and near perpetual warfare.
Eventually conquered, only be the direct intervention of Sors Diomedes himself, who now wears the flag of their people for their tenacity, Aximand, like the others, was split up and conscripted into one of the many legions. Over years of indoctrination in his youth, Aximand rose to Centurion, then Tribune rapidly over almost a decade, having shown the ability to think independently, with a brilliant mind for strategy and tactics.
After killing the former Legatus in single combat, Sors Diomedes took him into his inner-council. Immediately, Aximand pushed the crusade to the next level. He utilized the flexibility and prowess of the legions to conquer vast territories, pushing their borders. He became a hero, always suffering just as much as his men, leading from the front.
Ultimately, leading from the front caused Aximand to wound up with his leg speared through. Infection set in and the leg had to be amputated. Under the command of Sors Diomedes, Aximand was forced to return to his side, commanding from their capitol much to his pain.
Despite his injury causing him to leave the side of his men, much to all of their collective agony, Aximand himself has a brilliant mind for strategy and tactics, which has solidified his position as Legatus in light of most recent events.
NAME: Nerva Lachen. AGE: 70. APPEARANCE: A sullen figure of a man, Nerva is pale and wrinkled, with a hunch and crooked talons for hands. His nose takes up far too much of his face and his eyes are inquisitive and unsettling in their quest for knowledge, their intelligence picking at every detail of a person.
He is almost constantly surrounded by his retinue of slaves, all young girls. They keep a constant rotation to help clothe, feed and bathe Nerva, apply scented oils to his skin and hold his notes and documents. He is lecherous, perverted and hangs off of them.
STATUS: Signifier. BIO: Nerva Lachen is despised by all, even Sors Diomedes himself. During his mid-forties, when Sors Diomedes was beating on the door of his city in the seventh week of their siege, in which Sors Diomedes was prepared to allow them to actually be starved out, Nerva Lachen, then a noble of the court, slaughtered the ruling class while they slept using his household guard.
He immediately opened the gates, collapsing onto his knee and hooking himself around the leg of Sors Diomedes. Entering the court, he found the heads of children dashed against the wall, noble women raped and disemboweled and men, all of whom Sors Diomedes had hoped to bring to light, decapitated, their heads piled on the throne.
Ever since, Nerva Lachen has only retained his position through his usage and expertise as a saboteur and an assassin. His undying loyalty to Sors Diomedes has allowed him to utilize his skills for a purpose. He is the Master of Words, the man responsible for the cowardly tactics necessary for their expansion, as well as the thousands of missionaries who flood the streets of cities all over the known world.
NAME: Oriana Sigismund. AGE: 23. APPEARANCE: Every aspect of Oriana is disarming in nature. She is short, with rounded hips and large breasts, complimented with soft and unmarred olive skin. She has a round face, a button nose and full lips, her mouth packed with white, perfect teeth.
She has flowing, brunette hair, kept long and free flowing, reaching to the middle of her back. She will wear whatever is necessary, albeit has shown to enjoy wearing free flowing dresses that show off her form, most likely a necessity for her expertise. STATUS: Quaestionarius. BIO: Taken by force from her mother and father as an infant, Oriana was hand chosen by Nerva to be one of the myriad of concubines of his harem. However, her intelligence and cunning shined through to the wizened old man, who began to train her as an assassin.
Let out into the world, Oriana is often a part of the more political expansion of Aventine. She will often talk herself into the bed of kings or bury her blade into the spines of nobles, covering her tracks as she watches the courts crumble long enough to allow the influence of Sors Diomedes to flow over their cities, whether it be manifested in the will of Nerva and his words or the righteous fist of Aximand and his Aventine Legion.
OTHER DETAILS: The religion, started in Sors Diomedes's youth, has become the central point of life for everyone in his Empire in their almost eight decade long holy war and perpetual crusade. They are a monotheistic society who worship 'God', the title and the position. Sors Diomedes is seen as his avatar and most loyal servant, 'The Great Shepherd', who will unite all of Man into his flock. By force, if necessary.
The original message of humility, loyalty and modesty, the internal struggle of faith and brotherhood and the external suffering one must face has been distorted. Sors Diomedes himself is prone to thoughts of turning his empire in on itself, to flood his empire with war and carve out the truly faithful, those who uphold the original virtues, from those like Nerva, who utilize it for their own.
For the rest of the general populace, most are conscripted into the Aventine Legion. Those born in the empire from the time they are ten and capable, while those conquered immediately, separated from their original clans, tribes, towns, cities and nations, as to be indoctrinated into their faith.
The military of Aventine is diverse, flexible and brutal in its execution. Many of the soldiers, all from different clans, fought in different styles, with different technology and with different tactics, making them capable, if not experts, in all terrain and warfare.
However, while individual clans have been stomped out, traits are kept and maintained. Hairstyles, facial markings, names and even languages remain, with some adapting their former religions to that of Aventine's after becoming indoctrinated.

My luck seems to be really nonexistent. I make RP - doesn't work. I join RP - the RP dies... well to be fair, you haven't finished a bio. We're almost all students in college and high school near the end of the year, so we're kind of all waiting a bit before being able to work on bio sheets and all that for games.

We're waiting on Adlai and Meka, I think.
And myself, but honestly, I've been pretty stuck on it and we could start without it.
