Would anyone be up for a game based on the premise of the Civilization Games (specifically Civ V)? I've got a few ideas for one and am wondering if anyone would like to join in.

^ Sounds legitimately interesting, exactly what is it that you are suggesting

Well I've got these ideas for now:
1) We're the players controlling characters in a multiplayer game or at least start out that way. Then shit happens and suddenly we're all famous historical people
2) Another is that our world has just undergone the apocalypse and we're the people in charge of rebuilding civilization from the ground up. For unknown reasons, each player's character will have the soul of a famous historical personage living in their consciousness, the latter serving as a guide for the most part but there's also the implication that they might decide to simply take over the pc's body and do the running of the country themselves. I'm also considering that in that instance everyone could play as one another's historical personage.

1) is a bit meta and probably what killed Archon Keepers for everyone else(not that I'm letting it die that easily!) so it might be better if we drop that and instead focus on the 'meat' of the game.
2) sounds interesting but the idea of some force taking over a players character is best avoided if at all possible(why mind control in Triumph City is, while common, still being treated with suspicion). Plus, while I would LOVE to see it working SOMEHOW, so far there's been a lot of resistance to "team play", with two players working to control one character(even if that "one character" is a gestalt of multiple characters).
Either way, I'd be interested in knowing exactly what we'd be doing. We'd control a single character? Or would we control a whole nation? Would we interact with other players who are PART of our nation(say senators or commander in chief or next in line for the monarchy) or would each player be (from) a different nation? How would conflict resolution(the primary reason I use stats to define characters) take place? Civ does a lot of randomizing stuff, where as we have no real randomizers on the forum( [rolldice] doesn't work) which is why it's fresh every play through, how would we work that in this? A GM controlling all that, like the computer would?
