Long ago, in a far-off land, was the kingdom of Solus. The Kingdom was a land of magic and majesty, unlike our world.
Indeed, our story begins in the days of King Atryn's youth, there was a sole request to the mage Myrddin- the creation of gems of magic to symbolize the members of the Solian royal family. The sorcerer quietly went to work, hiding away to craft the gems. The months turned into years, and years turned into decades. The King had children and he grew old, as we all do. By the time Myrddin figured out how to craft an adequate magic jewel, the reign of King Atryn had given to the rule of Queen Aleylla.
With the Queen's approval, Myrddin began crafting more gems outside of the initial two given to her and her sister, the Princess Eluse. With each gem, dubbed 'Soul Stones' taking less and less time to craft, within two years he had crafted gems for each of the royal children. Eventually crafting had been perfected enough to create 'child' gems, albeit in limited supplies, letting a handful of servants and nobles gain weak-but notable-gems. These people were usually selected by a royal family member, with the gems being dubbed 'Virtue Jewels'.
Myrddin's feat in crafting the gems hadn't gone unnoticed. Word quickly spread across the lands, gathering a major amount of attention to Solus- from the pluckiest adventurers to those seeking to commend Myrddin in his achievements.
However, as with everything, just as many thieves appeared, wanting to take the notes Myrddin had made. For months, attempts of theft had been thwarted.
One had not.
In the middle of the night, while the sorcerer was away, the Myrddin's Tower had been invaded. Though the thieves managed to be caught before the robbery had managed to been completed, a handful of notes had been taken. This was more than enough to be a concern, as even the full notes were dangerous in the hands of even the most careful of sorcerers- what would happen with the unfinished notes?
The bandits had been caught only a week later- though they had long since sold off the notes to a trio of adventurers. Several reports across the lands had spoken of horrible creatures appearing, something that could only happen with high-caliber magic used recklessly.
Search parties had already been sent after the missing notes, but it became apparent that another was needed. A handful of people with the Virtue Jewels had been selected- or volunteered- to follow the trail of creatures in hopes of catching up to the trio.

{Soul Stones and Virtue Jewels}
The Soul Stones are magical gems, crafted by the sorcerer Myrddin- the trusted wizard of the Solus royal court. They're supposed to signify members of the royal family, and are items of great power on their own. A handful have been given to those who are to wed into the royal family, as well as 'child gems' to trusted people.
The child gems, dubbed the Virtue Jewels, grant magical powers- though not nearly to the degree that the Soul Stones have. This is likely because they aren't bound to their owner, as the Soul Stones are bound to the members of the royal family.
GEM TABLE:
This basically breaks down what color your armor is going to be, when you guys get those. See the heading/spoiler labeled 'Dwarves and Dwarven craft' for details on the armor. Feel free to send me a color/gem combo you wanna use, but don't see here.
Red: Ruby
Blue: Sapphire
Yellow: Amber
Green: Emerald
Pink: Topaz
Black: Onyx
White: Diamond
Purple: Amethyst

{Solian Royal Court}
Royal family:
Queen Aleylla, 46, is the current queen, and has taken on her duties very well over the years. She's refined, calm, patient, beloved by her people and a great problem solver. She is, however, a rather distant mother, being so wrapped up in her work, leaving her kids under the care of eachother and their aunt most of the time. Holds the Pearl Soul Stone
-Prince Lohn is the eldest of Aleylla's children at age 25. Lohn is somewhat notorious for slacking off on the more political aspects of being a prince (including taking a bride, at least so far), shunning them in favor of acting as a warrior of sorts. He tends to be found mostly found outdoors, particularly in forests. Lohn's also a bit of a hothead, and prone to bouts of anger; though most of the time he's usually fairly relaxed. He was wounded by arrow fire during the robbery, which left him removed from leading any of the search parties. Holds the Garnet Soul Stone.
-Princess Iseult is one of the youngest princesses in the family, along with her twin sister Andraste and cousin Anizette, at twelve. She has a suitor already from another kingdom, and is learning many 'princessly' hobbies. She's very sweet and kind- albeit extremely naive and unknowing of the world. She's pretty clumsy and enjoys playing games with her handmaidens. Holds the Opal Soul Stone.
-Princess Andraste is the youngest of the royal family (by roughly six minutes, according to most), being the twin of Iseult. She's rather bratty and self centered- very rarely can she be seen actually getting along with Iseult or her brother for that matter, for that matter. She's usually found shadowing her cousin Anizette. Holds the Cernelian Soul Stone.
Princess Eluse, 44, is Aleylla's younger sister. She's much more independant than her sister, but that also causes others to be dependent on her- she's the mother figure to both her own kids and her sister's kids, after all, being the person they run to for advice most of the time. She suffers, however, from ennui and mild depression. Holds the Apalite Soul Stone
-Prince Joavan is the eldest of Eluse's children, almost 30 years old. He's probably the most outgoing of his siblings, going out on the town often and interacting with peasants and nobles alike. He's charitable and family-oriented, and really doesn't have a bad bone in his body. He's not that close with most of the family, save for Mirabelle and Iseult- whom he dotes on and tells stories to all the time. Holds the Moonstone Soul Stone.
-Princess Mirabelle is Eluse's middle child, at fifteen years old. She's probably the closest to being a 'Disney princess', being elegant and gentle with a fondness of animals, particularly rabbits. Mirabelle is noted for being sickly, likely from whatever illness claimed her twin brother in their youth, spending most of her days in doors and reading. She's to be wed off to the Duke Antony by the end of the year. Holds the Beryl Soul Stone.
-Princess Anizette is the youngest of Eluse's children, 12 years old. She's rather spoiled, but doesn't try to be outwardly cruel (though a few servants can argue that). She prefers to stick to interacting with her family members, rather than people outside of it. She's very concerned with being pretty, even at this young of an age. Holds the Lapis-Lazuli Soul Stone.
Other members of the court:
Myrddin is the court mage, pledging loyalty to the crown. He is the one who crafted the proper Soul Stones, perfecting decades of work. He's currently traversing the lands with another search party, hoping to find the missing pages of his notes. It should be noted that Myrddin is merely the current identity belonging to this figure.
Sir Leon is the personal knight of Princess Eluse and her two youngest children. Sir Leon is a boisterous man with the skills to back it up , often times humorous and light-hearted. He's also known for his taste in liquors- and, less nobly, his habit of siring bastards. This has lead to rumors of affairs with Eluse; to the point of being the father of Mirabelle and Anizette.
Sir Connor is the personal knight of Queen Aleylla and her younger daughters as Leon is to her sister. He is, first and foremost, a kind and merciful man, with a huge heart and not that big of a brain. He's a bruiser, though, extremely strong and something of a tank, and will not hesitate to attack when something happens to those he protects. He has a wife and seven children already at this point in his life, all of them under the age of seven.

{Dwarves and Dwarven Craft}The Dwarven race were a race in ancient times. Enchantingly beautiful as they were magical, the Dwarves have long since left the plane that our story takes place in. The only things left behind of them are items crafted by them, as well as the belief that sorcerers in the setting are descended from them.
The Weapons of Aonghus: Weapons crafted by the Dwarven King in ancient times for great warriors, who would one day rise to the task to claim their weapon. The location of these weapons are long lost to history, with there being doubt that they were even real- or that they had been whisked away to wherever their makers are now.
The Armor of Alchad: Sets of Armor that correspond to one of the Weapons of Aonghus. The location of these are better known- held in an old Dwarven cavern not terribly far from the Solus royal castle. These armors are protected by a series of charms, and even then require something to fit into a hole in the armor.

Players are members of the royal court. Entrusted enough to be given jewels that hold some magical power, but not necessarily nobles- they're favored in some form by one of the members of the royal family, at the very least.
