"Latex and sticking plaster." She half-smiled. "Daft things to be allergic to, but those things make me swell up and come out in an itchy rash." She looked at Jane, beginning to drink in the information she could about the woman as she relaxed. "How long have you been the gardener here, ma'am?"

She nodded - Allergic to latex, plaster - and smiled at the question posed.
"A couple of years now. I lost count, really."

"You do a good job, the grounds look gorgeous. The landscaping is inspired, if you ask me." Elinor sat back on the bed, pulling her sleeves over her hands, and crossing her legs. "I can't wait to go for a wander, I've always loved the outdoors." The woman seemed genuine and nice, to Elinor. Straightforwards, though she was fairly certain she bore secrets, just like the other staff members. They all shared secrets, and had private secrets- Elinor could see it in them all, like it was highlighted and circled in red three times. "It must be very interesting, working the grounds here- large grounds like this always prove a challenge, by all accounts. You must never have a chance to stop, yet here you are, helping the school nurse."

Jane was very obviously flattered by all this.
"Thank you, I work very hard to keep the grounds in pristine condition. It's not actually as time consuming as one might think... though certainly there are times when the gardens get rough." Inquisitive. Attentive. "A few last questions - vices. Do you drink, smoke, use non-prescription drugs? And are you sexually active?"

"Well, if you're in need of any help at all, I'd happily lend a hand, ma'am." She smiled at the woman, knowing full well what she was doing. "The fresh air's good for the constitution." She paused to listen to the questions, laughing slightly at them. "Yes, occasionally, yes, and yes. I went to a private boarding school- we messed around a lot, and old habits die hard."

Drinks, 'occasionally' smokes, yes to drugs, sexually active. Jane restrained herself from snorting at Elinor's comment, and simply nodded to her.
"Thank you for all this. I'll keep your offer in mind - but I really should take this down to Dr. Godwin. I'll see you and the other children at dinner tonight."

"I ride horses every week, and our estate has two farms- pretty much yesterday, for farm animals, and stagnant water- ponds." Elinor paused to contemplate the city question. "It'll have been the Fringe- about four months back." HW normal (lower). Vitals normal. Reflexes good. Maternal psychosis. No current presentation- at risk. "Thankyou, Melody." Dr. Godwin took out a butterfly needle and lined it up with Melody's vein. "When were you last in contact with stagnant water or a major city, do you have any allergies, and is your lovely pussy-cat up to date with her vaccinations?" Melody closes her eyes in preparation for the needle, she always has a slight fear of them. "I haven't been to the city in years" Reaching out for Aurora she pet the cat in wonder "I don't think she's ever has a shot" she said guilt in her voice. There had never been much money when she waa growing up.

"Not to worry- I'll have them arranged for you whilst you're here. The house will cover the charges. Last questions- do you smoke, drink, use non-prescription drugs or are you sexually active?" Dr. Godwin swiftly pushed the needle in and took the sample. Needle anxiety. Cat needs jabs.
"Have a good day, ma'am." Elinor stood up and looked out, before wandering down the middle of the dorm, looking across at each small room as she passed them, stopping at Johanna's. "You're the fighter, aren't you?"

The headmaster was slumped in his desk as Poe arrived, writing to a companion of his with the minimal light from a candle. He glanced up at Poe, his eyes sunken-in and carrying deep dark bags of sleep deprivation. "I can meet them at tonight's dinner." He said curtly, "Not before, not after."

Eulalia sat on the bed in her room in the center of the room, looking at her surroundings. The walls were an unpainted, pure white. Clocks hung up on the walls, both digital and gear-based, all with different times displayed. To the side of her bed was a nightstand, made of ivory and with pink accents that matched the pink silk sheets on the bed. On top of the nightstand were the picture of her and her parents, as well as a glasses case- her own pair wasn't with her on the train, making this all the more surprising.
The girl sighed, pushing herself up off the bed and looking at a wooden chest at the foot of it.

Smoker. Nervous- keep an eye on this. "Yes- that's everything. I'll organise your cat's jabs within the next day or so. Thankyou, Melody." The doctor finished her notes and got up, showing the girl out of the infirmary before closing the door and cursing to herself. Animal vaccinations meant speaking to the vetinary supplier, which had to be done via... She sighed heavily. It seemed she was going to have to swallow her revulsion and ask for a favour from de Sade, once the last physical was done.

Nodding with a smile Melody walked out with Aurora. Aurora gave a sound of protest at the idea of having to be jabbed.
Melody took her time strolling back to her room. Where wass she? She wondered glancing around it was a bit chilly to her liking, but not unbearable.
Quicker than she wanted she found herself sitting on her bed humming a tune.

Johanna glanced up to Elinor, having been preoccupying herself holding and messing with various weapons on her walls.
"Yeah, I guess. I mean, I do various fighting classes... so I guess I am. Why do you ask?"
Angel had been sitting down at the desk, already drawing - the train, in fact - in one of the books. The tune from somewhere down came to her ears, and she smiled... somehow, it seemed familiar, though she wasn't sure how she'd known it. She stood up after a moment, pencil and book still in hand, following the music to pass in front of another girl's room.
"What's that song called?" She asked softly, trying not to disturb her much.

Eulalia made her way out of the room and to the infirmary's door, tapping on it gently. She was, as far as she knew, the only one who hadn't been examined yet.
"Ciao? Dottore?" She said softly. "I believe I am next to be examined?"

"Just confirming a hunch." Elinor turned to walk away as abruptly as she'd walked over. She wasn't sure that this girl was a safe bet just yet, so retreated.
"Come in." Dr. Godwin was laying out all she needed to get this examination done quickly, and smoothly. "Ah, good- I'll check your vitals, take a blood sample and asks few questions. I hope that's alright with you." The doctor efficiently guided the girl in and around the room, carrying out her various tests. "Any family medical history, or personal medical history? Same for mental health, and allergies?"

"Uh, well..." The albino girl coughed, wincing a bit as the doctor drew blood. "I am albino, as you can see, as is my papa... Mia mamma has trouble keeping from being underweight."
She paused, trying to think of anything else. "And I have an allergy to Asprin, as well as bees."

He glanced up at Poe, his eyes sunken-in and carrying deep dark bags of sleep deprivation. "I can meet them at tonight's dinner." He said curtly, "Not before, not after." Poe gave a forlorn sigh and moved to admit more light onto the desk by way of one of the windows. Not that the rest of the room needed light... oh, it could be made to be better visible, but did you really need to see such things that would tear at your very sanity? "That was going to be the second matter." The butler of the house noted. "Dinner is already in preparation, and while a few hours for the children to get settled in can be coupled with Doctor Godwin's fancy of examining each child in detail, it would be unseemly if you did not at least dress for the event." It was a polite hint that Lovecraft should finish his letter and get washed and dressed to be seen outside of the gloom.

HW low. Vitals normal. Reflexes normal. Solid pain response. Albino- paternal side. Often underweight. Aspirin allergy, bee allergy. "Of course. When were you last in touch with animals, stagnant water or a major city? And, do you drink, smoke, use non-prescription drugs, or are sexually active?" The doctor smiled slightly, reassuringly, as she withdrew the needle, the sample obtained. "Just these questions, then you're free to go."

Johanna stared at her, and then looked back to her swords.
"Well, nice seeing you too."
The doorway to the infirmary was filled by a new figure. Alphonse de Sade was not a man who believed in knocking - or in privacy, for that matter. However, he did believe in eavesdropping - even if it was painfully obvious he was there, as he was literally in the room.

Mary made a strange noise, like a cough had caught in her throat. "Alphonse- what- de Sade, what are you doing in my infirmary?" She was on her feet and standing between him and Eulalia within seconds, holding an active dislike of the man. "I will not allow- this is an invasion of privacy- I have a patient-"
As she walked away, Elinor smirked slightly, calling over her shoulder. "Not my fault you're as easy to read as a picture book, is it?"

The girl snorted.
"Yes, because 'reading' someone is such a good way to know them. You won't ever see past the end of your nose!"
"Relax, Mary," The man replied, leaning against the wall and taking a hefty bite from a passion fruit. "I didn't realize you were with... someone," He looked Eulalia over from behind Mary, before looking the older woman in the eyes. "However, it seems you two are finishing up, so I think I'm alright to just wait."

"Then wait outside." Watching him bite into the flesh of the fruit made her skin crawl- his presence made her skin crawl. "This is a private consultation, Alphonse. Wait outside." Mary turned back to Eulalia. "Why don't you go and see Jane, Eulalia? She can finish up the last few questions- just let her know I was interrupted." She looked back at Alphonse, irritation and anger in her eyes. That man was not allowed in this clinic. She had made that quite clear. He was not to come in here.
"I learn enough. I know from the way you carry yourself that you're a fighter, I know you're close to your father, and I know you have anger management problems. You'd be susceptible to hypnosis, and brainwashing- you can tell from someone's eye movements- and you intend to get your hands down the italian girl's pants." Eli had stopped and turned to walks slowly back towards Johanna. "Would you like me to keep reading?"

The girl looked up - and at the last comment let out a big-bellied, amused laugh.
"Oh- oh, my goodness, you ARE good!" She moved over on the bed, setting the sword down and sitting cross-legged. "Read any other good 'books' lately?" She glanced across the hallway into another room to make obvious she meant the other students.
De Sade waited for the albino girl to leave, his eyes trailing after her. He took another bite from the fruit, tossing what was left into a nearby garbage can.
"You told me to come collect - and the other ways in were locked. And, since we both know it'd be a wretched idea if one of these... things were to get lose, I refrained from taking an axe to them. This damned house seems to enjoy locking me out wherever it can."

"You know full well there are keys with Poe." Her voice quivered slightly. "You do not come in here, de Sade- you hear me? This infirmary is out of bounds to you. Send a messenger, ask someone to fetch me, but you do not come in here!" She dropped her fountain pen at the last comment, and it clattered to the floor and rolled towards de Sade's boots. Mary crouched down to pick it up as she continued, resting on her knees. "It's by your hand half of them end up in here anyway!"
Elinor took the subtle hint to sit down. "Where should I start? Give me a book, and I'll tell you what I thought. They were all full of little surprises, in their own ways."

He stared down at her as she went to her knees, not able to resist a smirk.
"Ah, you wound me, Mary. It's only this once, anyway."
"Weeelll... 'The Italian girl' would be a nice start."

Mary rose back to her feet, finding herself uncomfortably close to the man, quickly stepping backwards. "It had better be, de Sade- you are the last person I want darkening my door. You shouldn't be this side of the infirmary, ever." She walked over to the main doors to her theatre, opening them onto the hallway, and gesturing for him to follow. "Quickly, now."
"Start with her voice. Sounds Italian, right? Wrong. There's a lot of languages in there- the Italian sounds most prominent- mother tongue, along with a lot of European influence, but there's others there too. Suggests she travelled a lot as a child." Eli leant on the wall, pausing for breath. "Next- hear the way she refers to her parents as Mama and Papa? Infantile- she still enshrines them like little children do, which probably also means she can be infantile in herself too. She seems easily distracted- partly the childish nature, partly a wandering mind indicative of an obsession on one or two subjects- her mind'll wander easily back to what she obsesses over, more often than not." Half-smiling, she continued. "You can see yourself, the albino gene, mixed with her physical frame- she may struggle in a fight, with fragility against her. She's dainty. But, she's fast on her feet, you can see it in the way she carries herself. Graceful, yes, but fast in a pinch. She's strange, though." Eli looked across at Johanna, making eye contact. "There's more to her. Like she's seen more than she should, perhaps." Eli paused for a moment, holding the eye contact, before relaxing back. "So there you go. She'll definitely respond to your advances, if that's the main point you were after. I get the feeling she's waiting on you to make the move."

De Sade didn't respond - though he paused before they even got to the door, glancing down at the notes she'd left on her clipboard before hurrying after her.
The girl stared on in admiration.
"God, you're wonderful. And thanks for the heads-up, I'll keep it in mind..." She glanced around, seeing Melody and Angel down the hallway. "Them?"

"Cat girl- abuse victim- just look how jumpy and anxious she is. Probably her Dad. Mother not present or very weak. Better friends with the cat than other people- probably because she struggles with trust and social skills, I'd guess." She looked across at Angel, half smiling. "She's sheltered. Army family, I think, but she's not the typical army brat. She seems quite attuned to everything around her, but she's so anxious. It's like she's constantly scared of something- an ever-present, unseen threat, maybe from within. Medical condition, I'd guess." She laughed to herself. "None of them seem particularly up for tracking down where the staff keep their spirits, though."
Mary walked straight past the chained, padlocked double doors leading into her theatre. Instead, she headed for a cast iron spiral staircase, descending down to the cellar and bringing them into the cellar. She unbolted the back-door for de Sade, before looking back at him. She knew she was a long way from anyone else, alone with the man, and a half-dying abomination behind the door of one of her disposal bays. "There. Unlocked." She swallowed, making a fatal error of showing the man her fear. "Y-you can get it cleared now."

Johanna nodded, still marveling at Elinor's talents.
"I'll go off searching for their spirits with you," she replied. "...Anything else?"
He gave a smug look, strolling past her to the disposal bay, to begin working his magic of taking the abomination away.
"Oh, Mary, Mary, Mary... Darling, what is there to be frightened of? As long as you help me help you, your life will remain terribly easy...."

She felt her heart beginning to pound. "Well- that's everything- I must get back- work-". She flinched as he walked past her. "Just, get rid of it." She turned to go.
"Nothing special yet." She shrugged. "I've not seen much of anyone, yet." She looked around at Johanna's room, taking in the little details. "When I get more, I'll let you know." She half-smiled. "You often pick your prey within an hour of meeting them?"
