I love KH. For srs. It's been the fandom love of my life since age eleven. I haven't been able to play much of BBS though; not time for anything anymore. ... I'm wearing a Heartless insignia necklace right now. -I love KH -Since 11 -Heartless symbol necklace Oh, my God, are you me? My KH timeline- -Picked up KH in late 2003 -Got Chain of Memories a year later for Christmas -Preordered KH2 after having a fangasm when seeing an article about it in Game Informer -Bought Days a couple months after it came out with my Christmas money, because I had to buy a new DS, too. -Didn't but Birth By Sleep until nine months after its release because I had to save up for a PSP -Preordered Re:Coded, and just finished it about a week ago. Though, sadly, I'm not buying a 3DS to play the newer KH game, because it's not worth $300 total. I hope that KH3 comes out on a good system because, as of right now, I have a PSP, DS, PS2, and Gamecube. I hate XBOX, and my brother is not willing to share his PS3. ----- New 3DS trailer thoughts, anyone? It looks interesting, but I'm still wondering exactly what it is right no-hold the phone. Dream...Drop...Distance...3 D's...SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARE! ...Oh, JEBUS, I never even noticed that. Though, at least it's not 5Ds. ---- On an semi-related topic, has anyone tried playing Epic Mickey?

Although I've never played the games (I've never actually owned a video game system and when we rented them I wasn't very good), I saw an LP of KH and I was hooked on them.
Personally, I would like to see a Robin Hood world. Robin Hood was a favorite of mine. Toy Story would also be interesting. And after seeing the trailer for the third game, I'm disappointed that they don't seem to be giving Kairi a bigger role now that she has a Keyblade.
I mean before it was understandable and even now it's not too bad. Everyone has their own role to play and not everyone needs to be in the active position but her taking an active role now that she has a Keyblade would have been a nice too if only to add support against the crowd that likes to bash her so bad.
And, out of curiosity, do any of you think that the scene where Sora reunites with his friends in the second game portrayed Sora sort of, I suppose the phrase might be OOC? That scene always bugs me so much.

Although I've never played the games (I've never actually owned a video game system and when we rented them I wasn't very good), I saw an LP of KH and I was hooked on them. One of us, one of us, one of us...My favorite movies have already been in the game... though I would like a 101 Dalmatians world instead of just a side quest. I'd love to see Pixar worlds in general. owo THIS. But I've heard tell that Aqua wasn't originally confirmed as playable in BBS; so I'm clinging to the hope that Kairi's playable and they're keeping it secret. I'd would love to see her in an active role now that she actually has the means to fight back when people attempt to kidnap her. If she has the mystical weapon the series is practically based around, I think it'd be kind of stupid for the writers to not, I dunno, USE THAT. You could show her training with it and use it for the tutorial level. You could have her as a party member. You could even have an on-going subplot about Kairi having to fight off evil somewhere else while Riku and Sora are having their adventures. Maybe it started with the end of KH2 with Namine breaking Kairi out of Never Was (and continued with the stories of Xion and Aqua... 'specially Aqua), but hopefully the games are on their way to letting the ladies get in on the action rather than shunting them to the side. Not... really. This is kind of how I saw it; Sora knew Kairi's location and that she was alive and well (eh... kind of. Maybe. He knew where she was, at least). Sora had also been searching for Riku for ages with very little clues to go on, and the idea that he might be dead or worse. I think that the reaction's justified, but then again I'm forgiving... very, very forgiving... when it comes to this series and its writing fumbles. :/

He saw Riku at the end of game one and he saw Kairi at that time as well, and he didn't see either of them in person until that scene. I mean, the only reason I came to that conclusion was a story on fanfiction.net called The Idiosyncrasies of Kingdom Hearts. And although they were playing it up for comedy, when I thought about it, the vast difference between his reactions painted him as unheroic. I suppose it was an attempt to not have romance in the game but I think it just seriously backfired on them.

It just basically fueled the RikuxSora shipper's fire.

^Exactly. But of course, even if Sora did like Riku in that way, he still should have been way more relieved over Kairi being safe than Riku being safe. Why? Because Kairi should have been his main focus at that point.
At the beginning of the game, all his attention was on finding Riku and so on, and rightly so. He knew Kairi was back on the island, and was in all likeliness safe, or as safe as possible. Riku on the other hand was nowhere to be found.
But once he found out Kairi was in danger, all his energy should have turned to her. She did not have a Keyblade at the time, and did not have any form of fighting experience (not really her fault). She was in less of a position to defend herself from harm than Riku, and Sora should have known that.
And that would have been the thought process of someone truly caring and heroic. Traits which were demonstrated clearly in game one when Sora went out of his way to help Alice.
And if he had cared or worried that much, his reactions would have reflected that. But of course, Riku seemed to garner more attention, and not the person who truly needed help.
It really boggles me that the writers managed to make their own character essentially OOC. /rant
I've had that bottled up too long.
Has anyone heard of the LiveJournal community heartless_fics? They spork bad KH fan fiction, from that mildly bad to the brain and sanity breaking kind. It's actually really good.

Kingdom Hearts is the only series I can find any reason to continually play. Final Fantasy is overrated, and so is Disney, but somehow these games are very likeable to me. I've been playing since I was 11 pretty much. The only ones I haven't played are the Final Mixes & the original CoM. And since I have no interest in the 3DS, I probably will not play Dream Drop Distance, but I will still keep up with the storyline.

Why are there Pokemon in this game? .__.
Also, did they explain why Sora and Riku are so young?

Sora and Riku don't really LOOK young...somewhat, maybe it's just the new costumes and slight redesign that makes them look that way.
...Okay, Sora does still look young, I'll admit.

What do you mean a retcon? It's just the game that has actual weight on the story, and it comes before KH3.

Guys it's the kingdom hearts game for the nintendo 3ds, as for all the heartless stuff and costumes, they haven't released any information that other then apparently those two heartless things are new party members replacing donald and goofy.

Ah, so that's what those odd yet adorable things are. I'm alright with that. At first I wasn't too excited about this game, but at this point I think I'll probably end up buying it. Oh, and Riku's haircut looks fucking weird.

Okay, I have a few questions that maybe somebody here can answer. One, Namine's powers. I know that she can alter memories, but I've always been confused as to whether she can alter anybody's memories or just those connected to Sora. Also, how to they work exactly? I mean, does she just alter the facts in your head, does she create illusions, or does she literally warp reality? I mean, I read a fic once where Sora's parents see a doctor and the doctor tries looking up information on an old appointment (Sora's birth I think) and the file itself is blank. I just wonder how Namine's deception survived a whole year. Did she steer people away from evidence, did she create hallucinations, or did she literally alter the physical evidence, like records, family pictures, any pictures, so on and so forth? Also, there seems to be some confusion with the new game. Correct me if I am wrong but so far it seems that Young Xemnas or whatever the bodysnatching badguy's name is right now I forget, creating a new organization XIII, with duplicates of the originals, all of them with hearts of pure darkness and they are called Nobodies, right?

Her memories affect all who are connected to Sora. That's why in KH2, people forgot about Sora during the 1 year period he was asleep. I think Namine's powers affect facts (why everyone else forgot about Sora) and can create illusions (Chain of Memories). Organization XIII were merely shells that were going to have Xehanort's heart in them.

Ok, to answer the questions about KH3:DDD
1. The "pokemon" are actually "Spirits". These are your allies 2. The creatures you fight are nightmares, the bad version of the Spirits 3. This is a direct sequel to KH2. I don't know why they're so young, so I presume this might be lazy character design

Ok, Can I be sincere? I only play these games for the Gameplay anymore. The Plot has suffered from the same plague that Final Fantay has: It has became needlessy complicated, with stupid twists and annoying characters. Remember KH1? Where the plot resumed to "Evil monsters bad, go kill them"? And it didn't take a story where a Nomura Zipper Abomination and Donald Duck appeared on the same screen seriously?

^Or yet another expy of a female character, only loaded with more angst than everyone else in the series combined....mainly because the character herself seemed to be a giant ball of issues taken from every single character in the series combined into one emo-tastic Mary Sue.
I'm looking at you, Xion. I gave up on Days because of you.

@lady Phoenix: Thank you. From the sounds of it maybe this confusion I am seeing on TV Tropes about Nobodies and hearts as of 3DS is the result of a screw up in naming and terminology. I mean even though they are hearts of darkness, and thus, probably wouldn't make them truly living things again, perhaps a better name could have been chosen for the clones. @chaotic Neutral: I can see why some would call Xion a Sue, I mean, the idea of an extra Organization member has been done to death in the fandom, not to mention Xion is technically a girl (though since her appearance changes she probably doesn't have an actual reconstructed human body or something like that). But I like to think that Xion still has a bit more class than the KH Sues in the fandom. I mean, her name is connected to water, like Namine and Kairi, so that's clever, and what I find really clever about her character is that her name, when you anagram it like the others, forms "no. i". Number i, as in the mathematical substitute for an imaginary number like the square root of a negative. It's a nice twist since while Xion is part of the organization, she's merely an artificial Nobody, not even a true human body, so she's an imaginary number. And it makes sense when you realize Vexen probably named her. I mean, most Sues in the fandom have ridiculously unpronounceable names and certainly none of them go for a joke dealing with math. And it makes perfect sense that the Organization might try to make a second Keyblader to increase productivity, and try to MAKE one instead of waiting around. I mean, she died ultimately but I'm sure they'd still count the productivity.
