((I just realized I double-posted last time in both threads. ._. xD ...Consider it bumping? )) "I don't know." She answered truthfully. "But when it's this quiet... I just get this ominous feeling at the pit of my stomach. Like... something's about to pop right around the corner or out of the ground. Like something is specifically trying to make itself quiet..." She took a deep breath. Cesspit might have noticed just how close she'd moved towards him. Her chest inches away from his chest, her arm brushing against his arm, and... her hand gently touching his hand. She'd noticed him slightly trying to take it earlier, after all, even if he hadn't quite fully realized it. Of course, the other hand was at her waist- so either on her gun or her sword, it wasn't certain which. Either way, they obviously weren't TOO vulnerable.

Cesspit took this brief moment in time to reflect upon both the warmest feeling in his heart - something even a medically severed spinothalamic tract could not dull into that sensation of dull bluntness, that lack of feeling altogether, and lament the fact that, no matter how poetically moved he might have been by such actions, he still could not feel Karma's small, if not dainty hand in his. Nonetheless, the motions were duly noted, and the man of flesh and metal accepted the small miracle that a humanoid of the opposite sex even allowed herself to drift so close to him.
This rash of emotion was held at bay, however, when he noticed Karma's other hand, reaching for one of her weapons. Though she was more human than he was, he always trusted that instinctual sixth sense of hers, whenever trouble was looming on the horizon.
"Okay, so, how should we proceed? I'm inclined to believe you."

~~~~~~~~~Pool Side
Cupid was forced to do quite a bit of dodging to try to avoid all the bombs in the cluster. Still, most of them spiralled off in the wrong direction, so a majority of the blasts were property damage, not personal. Metal and plastic deck chairs reduced to flying debris, patio tables and umbrellas, and at least one inflatable inner tube exploded.
(I'm not going to list each Agility check. Point is she failed one, -6 hitpoints. Bleeding a little and your parents are going to ask what you've been doing when you get home!)
Her knee was skinned, her stockings slicked up, and her pink skirt had taken what felt like a nasty burn on her backside, but she still managed to get a good shot off. The bladed wings flew towards the jet wearing man...
Who was still firing his beam weapons into the pool, creating a steam cloud to obscure your vision.
"What was that?" He asked as there was a sound of metal hitting metal(followed by metal hitting the pavement). By this point he was just a figure in the hot clouds, the steam and the coolish air mixing to make a fogbank. "That was my wing! You fat brat! You hit my wing! How am I supposed to fly with just one wing?!"
Lights in the apartments were coming on now, and some people started looking out windows or their patio door. One voice raised in response to the explosions, presumably the land lord of the complex. "Hey! What's going on out there?"
Cupid was starting to lose Starscream in his instant fog bank as her wing clip flew back for her to catch(I'm going to assume it's magical like that). She could still hear him though.
"You want to play rough you little pest? Ammunition Eject. Cluster Bomb Fifteen Second Delayed!" Cupid managed to see something that looked sorta like a bundle of fire crackers fly over her head. It was the last of his munitions, bundled up and primed to explode, and it easily arced over her head missing her by a good distance to smash through someones second story bedroom window.
~~~~~~~~~~Stormdrain hovel ((Still waiting on Inferno Witch to show mercy or not. And once that call is made, Bright Knight gets to choose if Creeper gets to lose his head or not.))
~~~~~~~~~~Moonlit walk
The overload DarkSon had created, suddenly draining from his homeless target, was wearing off now. The victim would be hungry, and with a bit of a headache, but otherwise unharmed despite the amount of life energy that had been violently yanked out of them.
Inferno Witch's sleep spell was a little longer lasting, so the other surface guards took some rousing before they'd be getting up.
So as Karma spotted them, only the woman who had tried to stop Bright Knight from entering the open grate was stirring. The rest looked to be passed out around a burning barrel. Stirring, and muttering to herself as she tried to get her wits about her.
"Not for you... no not for you... Only the Lost Ones... no outsiders. Just the choosen, and the recruits who wished to join them. Failed... failed to stop invaders... failed to sound the warning... failed failed failed... couldn't follow the Path... Lost... lost... lost..."
----Pool side---- There was a second sound, one of someone running on the rooftops before someone jumped into the air, grabbing the cluster bomb and throwing it into the pool.
((It's Aeon Phoenix.))
Cupid may not have been able to see him throw it, but she was able to see it crash through someone's window. And now she was faced with a dilemma- whether or not to save the person, or go after the bad guy. At best, he could outrun her... at worst, he could short circuit. Both were bad, one for her and one for everyone here. But if she went after the bad guy, the bomb could explode. She didn't know what sort of damage it could give, but in someone's bedroom? Who knew who was in there- an influential friend of the mayor? A fellow superhero? A baby?
In that split second, a decision was made for her. A figure through the fog had grabbed the bomb, and had tossed it into the pool. Now she could do this.
She got closer, attempting to see through the steam to see the assailant Starscream. She could make out no more than a silhouette at best, but she kept moving closer. She was going to have to be fast with this.
She reached behind her, grabbing her back ribbon which luckily hadn't suffered as much damage as her skirt. She threw one end, willing it to loop around Starscream before it would come back to her.
~~~~~
The duo stepped around the corner, going a few feet in still silence, a gentle electricity sparking between the two hands together, or at least that's what she felt. It was gentle, very nearly unnoticable, but she could feel it.
But then there was the matter of... this. Close by, a stirring of clothes and hair, a mumbling low voice. Karma's eyes darted across the scenery, her hand loosing her gun from it's holster but keeping it low, at the ready.
There happened to be a big group of homeless people laying about at an enclave here, close to an open storm drain. Her brow furrowed- what had happened here? Only one was stirring, a woman. Karma took a glance up to Cesspit, motioning with her head as if to say 'See? I told you so.'
She let go of his hand then, getting closer, gun still at a possible ready. She didn't know whether or not the lady was armed and would attack her, after all.
"Excuse me." She finally said in a loud voice, from the edge of the sidewalk. "What has happened here?"

((I'd like to point out that Aeon Phoenix's Agility isn't high enough to make both the leap from the rooftop AND catch the explosive AND throw it away with any kind of accuracy, all while under poor vision conditions. That sort of trick would take a full 30 agility, and should also require a 20 Strength to land safely afterwards. You don't even have enough karma to boost yourself to the point where that feat is possible for the one turn. Try for something simpler.))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Under the Overpass
((Charisma check on Karma against the one homeless woman's psyche. Additional bonuses for the stress of the previous team dealing with her...))
The woman looks up at the loud voice, trembling in fear, and throws herself backwards, against the concrete embankment of the overpass that the grate was set in, trying to get away from the two newly arriving heroes.
"I didn't mean to! I'm sorry! I tried! Lost! It's all lost now!" The homeless woman broke down into sobbing.
"Okay, let's all hold up a minute," Cesspit offered calmly, stepping forward to get a better look at the seemingly homeless woman. "Are you hurt, ma'am? Is there something wrong?"
The questions were pretty bland and general, Cesspit knew, but at least a little more noticeably comforting than Karma's initial inquiry. The women was obviously distressed, to put it in the lightest sense. And what was she talking about?
Creeper kept a constant stare with Bright Knight.
The girl was not her own, at this moment. She was seeing things, and the things that one could consider worse than Creeper had to range into seeing Agent Orange sprayed on an Elephant's cock, or watching Game Of Thrones without all the porn.
"Bright Knight, sweetie," Creeper said, blood pouring out of his open wounds, congealing around the edges of his deepest wounds, "Put the sword down. Really, I thought you were better than this."
The Brpight Knight'sxeyes flickered wildly. This had gone horribly. She hadn't managed to save any of the monks. The preacher still lay burning. And now this evil being was speaking to her as if he knew her. Which was a lie, of course... Wasn't it?
"Free him!" she demanded again, glaring at the witch.
Inferno Witch just stared Bright Knight down, undeterred. She knew. She knew already that Bright Knight, even under this influence wouldn't do it. She couldn't.
She look at the Rector who had finally passed out from pain and shock, she snapped her fingers and the flames went out. She looked at Bright Knight and waited.
((I'm going to be off for the weekend, so might not get to reply to this on time.))
((Bright Knight gets one reaction to Inferno Witch while still under the influence of the illusion. Followed by a gradual restoration of her short term memories of whos side she really is on. DarkSon will be trying to keep Creeper from killing anyone more(and if it comes down to a fight between Creeper and Bright Knight, DarkSon is simply going to steal the gun and let them have it out, one more death won't bother his conscience), but if that seems under control he'll start checking on the survivors. The normal humans who were on the side of the Lost are injured and in need of help, and one hostage is nearly dead from a stray shot in the fight. Also if anyone tries to follow the Holy One, a Sectoid, he'll say something about closing this "chapter" of the Lost Ones after this rectors failure, his clone brothers will see fit to be less reckless in the future, then detonate some explosives in a small chemlab set up in that corner. The explosives are on a deadmans switch, so stopping him while he's talking will only detonate them sooner. Otherwise, there's a timer involved, and it should give you enough time to get everyone out of the range of the blast. Most of the hostages are well enough to help carry the wounded.))
((Cesspit and Karma will hear/see the blast(might pop some manhole covers further down the street or something, plus, their right at the stormdrain opening). Shortly after, TireIron will probably try to charge past them. You guys failed to finish him off, and I was going to have him giving Creeper trouble as Bright Knight was distracted by DarkSon, but since she didn't distract, TireIron never had an opening. With the Rector out of it, the zealotcy of the Lost Ones has faded, they're now confused and subject to presence attacks(your Charisma higher than 6). They probably won't be much help though. They really do think they're involved in a religious cult, which was organized to feed and shelter the homeless outside of the normal system. The injections were only for the mutates(the hostages misunderstood what they were seeing), as it was a continued psychic conditioning to loyalty prior to the physical augmentation. TireIron still has some fight in him, and may try to fight his way free.))
((Two of the hostages, "Susan" and "Raven" are teenage girls who ran away from home and will not want to return(Susan's father is abusive, Raven is loyal to her friend). However, they're goth, and will develop an attraction to either Inferno Witch or(if she escapes too quickly for them to pester her) DarkSon and try to become a sidekick, or coven, or thrall or something. The two girls will flee from the police and other authorities rather than be returned home, so unless you want the two girls out sleeping on park benches again, somebody on our team is going to be stuck with them. Somebody NOT Creeper that is, he has his own 'sidekick' in the form of Legion. The rest of the group(including the mutates) will accept police custody, though what charges to press would be questionable.))
((DarkSon is a liscensed and registered hero, but isn't going to like talking to the police about this adventure assuming the police do get brought into this somehow. He's not happy with how the whole thing went, from Creeper "tagging along" and "ruining any attempt at stealth, forcing a violent, and fatal, confrontation", to the fact that DarkSon is a mystical hero and is completely out of his depth when it comes to dealing with aliens and mutations. DarkSon, Cesspit, and Karma however would "know somebody who knows somebody" to get more information on that particular kind of alien and possibly find a way of reversing the mutations.))
((Also, DarkSon may want to take Bright Knight to the side(or fly her up onto a rooftop) and ask her what she saw in the illusion, and perhaps give a pep talk if she's upset about Inferno Witch called her bluff(assuming she is bluffing, and Creeper doesn't lose his head during her upcoming reaction). Hopefully I'll be back for that, as I'd like to come up with the private talk myself, since it may be the last we see of DarkSon for awhile, and I want to give you some reason to want to see him return to the story.))
((Meanwhile, Poolside, Starscream will make every cowardly attempt to escape he can, including threatening innocents(as the throwing of his clusterbombs into the apartment was showing. The bomb can be easily disarmed if you get to it in time). His flight systems have been taken out, but he still has his enhanced strength/endurance that'll let him run better than either of you, and his thrusters will grant him super leaping to clear the two story apartment buildings and houses in the area. He can break free of the ribbon entangling him(it's still just ribbon, you didn't give it enhanced strength), if you're still wanting to use that on him. You might not want to, since the bomb is still in play as Aeon Phoenix is not agile enough to catch it and throw it away while jumping off a rooftop. Catching it, maybe, but honestly I think the jumping off a rooftop is going to hurt him, and throwing it away he'll have no accuracy and do more harm than good. Honestly, using the ribbon to grab the bomb might be a better tactic, as the bomb won't fight back. You'll still get the rewards for defeating him if he escapes, as long as bystanders don't get hurt, and your fight has brought several bystanders out into the line of fire by this point(They'll be suitably impressed and thankful to the hero who saves them, assuming you don't start shooting the potential hostages yourself). Cupid will also have to explain why she looks like she's been in a nasty fight when she gets home.))
((Resolve all that, and you're free to do whatever you want again. We'll be back to square one, with everyone just hanging out and chilling again at the local club or diner until I can dangle some story hooks in front of you.))
((Kaykay. First off then: Poolside, yo. Reversing all that happened with Aeon Phoenix and Cupid tagteaming... Al doesn't mind I'm sure since I kinda asked him to do that in the first place... xD And since you, Per, gave me direction I'll gladly take it. /shot))
Cupid may not have been able to see him throw it, but she was able to see it go towards crashing through someone's window. And now she was faced with a dilemma- whether or not to save the person and grab the bomb before it broke their window, or go after the bad guy. At best, he could outrun her... at worst, he could short circuit. Both were bad, one for her and one for everyone here. But if she went after the bad guy, the bomb could go through the window and explode. She didn't know what sort of damage it could give, but in someone's bedroom? Who knew who was in there- an influential friend of the mayor? A fellow superhero? A baby?
Well, that made her decision for her. She could wait for the bad guy. He could, after all, resurface in the future and she could always catch him then. But right now, life was on the line.
She quickly untangled her ribbon from her skirt, throwing it so it would loop around the bomb. She twisted the ribbon a bit as it came down to her, and got it into the pool quickly enough to blow out the fuse. However, when she turned to look, now that the steam was clearing- he was gone. She gave a slight sigh at that.
However, in the silence she looked around at the whole area. Almost all the people were smiling at her, happy for her help. She felt her face blushing and she began to beam. She looked at everyone, gave a small salute while backing away, and then turned and ran off.
The skyline was becoming tinged with dark blue and gold.
...Her mom was going to kill her.
((And now back to Cessy and Karma. c:))
Karma, a bit taken back, looked up to Cesspit. She was nervous- she didn't really handle this sort of thing well. Cesspit was far calmer and gentler, so she stepped aside, sort of making him handle this.
That was, until the storm drain moved slightly as the ground underneath them gave a small quiver. A few other storm drains down the street popped up as well. The scent of smoke began to fill the air as a man came from the one nearest, trying to bolt off. Karma nodded to Cesspit, and then charged off after him.
Well, first night back in the city was going to be eventful...
((I dun think the bombs went off yet. It's going to happen, so I think the post is fine, but I think one of the sewer heroes has to go after the Sectoid for that to happen, and by the time they get out, will probably go off.))
Creeper moaned, the blade digging slightly into the flesh of his skin. He had a slight euphoric rush, and it was evident he was rubbing his nuts.
"Bright Knight!" Creeper yelled, "Don't stop!"
He began laughing.
The priest fell, and the fire was extinguished. But fell is an awfully vague term. Was the priest alive? Should the Bright Knight check on him, leaving herself open to attack? Or should she continue fighting and potentially let the priest die? Or should she do what she'd threatened, and kill the dark knight? He said something about not stopping, obviously an attempt to confuse her further.
The witch had tried to stop her from killing the Dark Knight. Perhaps if she injured him, the rest would be too distracted to fight her, letting her check up on the priest. But at the same time, the Witch hadn't put out the flames until the priest fell, and the vampire had done nothing at all. She couldn't take that risk.
"Come with me," she commanded, pulling the dark knight across the room. She forced him to kneel down next to her as she listened for the priest's heartbeat, her sword always pointing at the dark knight.
Creeper was pulled with the girl, relatively light and thin, and without his armor on, he was like a cloud. Plus, he was wounded, and wasn't up for fighting.
"You know you have very soft hands, Bright Knight," Creeper said, walking alongside the girl, "And such a nice voice. You should try singing. I tried singing once, but when I was in prison, if you had your mouth open to far you either got shanked or raped."
~~~~~~~~StormDrain Hovel
DarkSon gave a twist to Creepers wrist and disarmed him. With a flick of his wrist DarkSon unloaded the pistol and let the bullets drop into the debris used as bedding, followed by throwing the empty gun to the opposite side of the room.
Turning to glance back the way they'd entered, DarkSon saw the mutate guard wearing bits of tires strapped to his body. He was still carrying his tire iron weapon. He looked somewhat shell shocked. He'd looked ready to take a swing, but now he was confused and hesitant. DarkSon paused a moment and smiled. That was fear on the mutates features.
Apparently the look on DarkSon's face was enough, and the Mutate broke and ran.
The Rector's pulse was still going, though as Bright Knight touched him she realized that the Priest wasn't just badly burned, there was something else wrong with his body. Cloven hooved hands and feet, strangely stretched and enlarged body frame... the illusion was starting to fade away as her memory returned. Gradually she realized that the 'building' they were in was more of a cave. Yet a man made cave...
"Excuse me... Miss..." One of the young women, probably no more than 15, came up from behind Inferno Witch. "I... I think this guy's really hurt and..." The young man who had taken a plasma blast, "Are you really a witch? That would be so cool!"
~~~~~~~~~~~Overpass Stormdrain entrance(a few minutes later)
The... man... was big and strong. He ran past the homeless people by the open grate like he belonged there, none of them giving him a second look.
But he was winded, and Cesspit caught up to him easily, with Karma not far behind. He hadn't even made it to the corner when they could make out that he was carrying a tire iron in one hand, and had some lumpy pads strapped to his ragged coat. Like... cut up tires, giving him a little more protection.
~~~~~~~~~A block away from Poolside
Starscream landed in the middle of the street and staggered aside. The thrusters were not made for jumping. These start and stop triggering was disconcerting at best. At worst, he felt like he was going to throw up under his silver robotic mask.
The one wing he still had only made things worse, as it had put him into a corkscrew spin during his leap. He was lucky he had been able to brake and not break his leg. Still, despite how it seemed foppish and foolish, he did have some skills.
Spotting somebody following him was not among his skills. Technically, running at speeds that rivaled some (slower) cars wasn't one of his skills either. That was equipment. The thruster mounted boots that went all the way up to his belt, augmented his strength for taking jarring landings(to a point), and now that augmentation was being used for running. He took himself at what he felt was a steady jogging pace, and found he would be ready to pass any cars he met on this street. Or leap over.
He didn't even notice somebody shadowing him who thought actually using the sidewalk was a good idea.
((Aeon Phoenix's somewhat undefined talent of "decent athletics" mixed with his Endurance and/or Strength makes his running speed only slightly less than Starscreams, and about the speed you'd expect a car to drive through a suburban neighborhood. Starscream is only "jogging" so by putting into a sprint Aeon Phoenix could catch him. Or he could tail him back to wherever he's going and stop the Decepticons once and for all, muahahahah... okay probably not, but still your choice of what to do.))
~~~~~~~~~~Homecoming.
Before she left Cupid had seen two young childrens faces pressed against the window the cluster bomb nearly has broken through. The bomb had still gone off in the pool, blasting water every which way in multiple explosive splashes, but the damage this time was resigned to the pool floor and walls, as opposed to destroying the patio furniture and sliding glass doors to some apartments like the first bundle had... and certainly better than causing fatalities.
Still, Cupid left before the land lord could sort out exactly what had happened, or to thank her properly for her efforts of thwarting the villain. Of course, she could have just let him go and saved on the property damage she had caused, but if you didn't try to stand up to evil when you find it, next time she might be too late to see the beaming faces of ten year olds you just saved from explosives.
That looked to be the only reward she was going to get tonight however. Martha and Daniel Ansel were waiting up for their daughter when she got home. They'd moved here so she'd stop this foolish "super heroing" she'd started in their hometown after all...
((You can write for your parents, I'm not quite sure where to go with them.))
Creeper groaned, "Awww..."
He looked to Bright Knight, "Did you see that, sweetie? He fully just disarmed his brother man."
He looked over, "That is not cool yo'."
He turned back and looked at Bright Knight. "You know you have beautiful eyes when you're holding a sword to my neck. How about you and I get together some time, you know. A little wine, a flesh-skin table made out of stacked up hooker bodies, a little Turkey leg. It'll be wonderful, just you and me and Legion and Annie and Darkson."
The Bright Knight shook her head as if to clear it. She knew exactly where she was... Didn't she? This chapel - no, it wasn't a chapel. What was it? The words storm drain came to mind, but she had no idea what that was.
The dark knight - was that his name? - was still talking about the most vulgar of things. Surely someone like that was evil? And the people he was fighting with - a witch and a vampire. This poor man... But then, was he even a man?
Images started pouring into her head. The time machine. The experiments. But surely that was impossible... Wasn't it? With a start, she realized she couldn't remember how she had become a knight otherwise. Her life in the city. The diner. Creeper - the man she was holding at swordpoint - talking to the guards. The storm drain. The fight. Inferno Witch freeing the captives. DarkSon and Creeper fighting the mutates. The sudden sleepiness. And now, here she was, protecting the very being she was supposed o be fighting.
Her sword clattered to the floor as she pushed herself away from Creeper and the Rector. "Oh, God," she gasped. "What have I done?"
~~~~~~~Stormdrain hovel
"Effectively, nothing." DarkSon told Bright Knight in what was probably supposed to be a reassuring tone. Or a condensending one. It was hard to tell, Bright Knight switching sides had done nothing to change the flow of the battle it seemed, so what did that say about her own abilities?
"Of course," The girl said still nervous as she was talking to Inferno Witch, and maybe babbling a little. "Real witches don't need to use broomsticks, right? That's just a stereo type, I read that you should actually use a sacred dagger, but that's just symbolic right? You just sorta waved your hands..." The young, probably somewhere in his 20s, man who had taken the plasma bolt was okay. He could walk, if someone would help him up, but had burn marks across his skin where the bolt had hit and fused his clothing to his flesh. His main issue was that he seemed to be in extreme pain at the moment.
"But you can do magic, right? We saw you zap that big guy..." This was a second girl, wearing some smudged make up that was apparently several days old without touch ups. She was referring to the mutate who had tried wearing a street sign as a breast plate. The one who had been hit by a lightning bolt, and then had his plasma pistol stomped by Bright Knight. He was still breathing, now that things were calm enough to check, but didn't look like he'd be moving any time soon. "Can you teach magic too?"
DarkSon was already gliding across the makeshift chapel made of burning barrels and scattered debris that they had turned into a battle field. He passed Creeper and Bright Knight with only his two words, and ducked behind the curtain that led to another tunnel. If need be, he could accelerate his hovering flight to catch the child like alien who had fled this way...
That left the rest of them to deal with the hostages, and their wounded enemies.

The white clad hero-slash-magical-girl-stalker (and a rather thankful one at that, considering one of said magical girl's family members) broke into a sprint, continuing to trail the armored villain.

Cupid, back home, was confronted by her parents. She now sat on the stairwell, sighing as they began to- gently- lecture her.
"It's not that we don't want you to be happy and fell important, Honey," Her dad was saying, "It's just that... well..."
"We just don't want you to get hurt." Her mother entered in, with a small sigh. "Crimefighting is dangerous. You know this by now. We came here so maybe you wouldn't have to do it."
"But Mommy, Daddy... I NEED to do it." She replied, turning up her big brown eyes to them. "I can't just stand idly by while someone does bad things!" She stood up then, her finger in the air with resolve and the gusto that only a teenage girl can give. "I can't let some innocent people be hurt! I can't let bombs go off in a city and just do NOTHING! I need to HELP people!"
It was a miniature speech, and rather dramatic, but she stopped and gave her parents a sheepish smile, her hands together in front of her.
((Pitting her charisma against their psyche... she wins!))
Her parents gave a sigh.
"Sweetie..." Her mother seemed about to say something, but just smiled and gave her a small, playful swat on the butt. "Go upstairs and change into your PJs and go to bed. If you're going to be superheroing again... you might as well get your rest in in the early morning."
She gave a sweet smile to them, giving them both hugs and kisses.
"Thank you guys! I love you!"
She pulled herself upstairs to her bedroom, changing and falling down into bed.
...She grabbed the cat, on the other side of the bed, and pulled him close to her like a teddy bear. He probably wouldn't mind. Because he was a drunk cat.

Karma swerved to stand at the man's front, revolver aimed at him as she noticed the tire iron in his hand. She hoped Cesspit noticed it as well, just in case.
"Drop the tire iron and put your hands in the air!" She told him in her most commanding voice.

"Can you teach magic too?" "The kind of magic I specialize in is...well, it's not something you want to take likely," said Annie, as she helped the injured man up. "It...can be taught. However, it takes years and years of study and practice. I would definitely say do not do it without any supervision." She looked at the exit. "Come on let's get out of here."

"Oh," said the Bright Knight faintly. "Good." She stood up shook her head again. Things were still foggy. She looked down at the unconscious Rector. "So... What should we do with him?" She didn't want to admit it in front of her teammates, but she wanted to make sure he'd be all right. If she didn't focus too much on the hooves or the color of his skin, she could still see the kindly-looking father who was forced to battle for his life.

"Bright Knight, Bright Knight," Creeper reassured, smiling. It wasn't calming, really. Jagged, broken, yellowed teeth, along his tattooed face. It wasn't very calming at all, nor was the person mentally sane enough to be calming.
"You're fine. Ya' don' nothin', ya' little munchikins. All ya' done gon' did was give me an erection." Creeper said.

A gentle smile curved at Lady Enigma's lips as she flitted through the dimly lit streets of Triumph City. It was only at night that she got to prowl the streets, doing the work she had been born to do. The ONLY thing she'd been born to do.
She had been living in Triumph City for months now and had already established herself as a keeper of the peace and bringer of justice. But of course, that was only natural for a hero like her. Bred for justice and here, on the streets of triumph city, lay her natural habitat.
In the months she'd lived there she would admit, she hadn't been as active in the realm of crime fighting vigilantism as she'd wanted. In fact, she'd been a bit lacking. She had managed to stop a robbery or two, solved a few cases of missing heirlooms and rescued a cat or two from a neighborly tree, but none of what she'd done thus far in the city amounted to anything particularly heroic. Or even particularly interesting.
But tonight, she knew, was the night. Tonight was the night she finally broke out and was recognized as a true super hero of triumph city. She'd already gotten her grand entrance all planned out. She would wait until the tension of the moment was at it's climax, and then burst in, catching the villains unawares. Taking down their defenses she would then use her powers to shrink out of their grasp, and then grow large enough to apprehend them. Then she would leave the crooks to the proper authorities as people marveled over the masked heroine who had saved them. And she would smile and reply modestly
'I only act in the name of justice'
And with that she'd be off, quick as a shadow. Now all she had to do was figure out WHERE the source of all the trouble was.
At last she spotted it. A decrepit looking hovel. The site of a hostage situation where it was said a couple of mutates had been spotted. She steeled herself. Steady Cole, this is the moment we've been waiting for! she took a breath, Put on a smile and let's do this.
With a flourish she stomped forward and kicked in the door.
"Never fear, fair citizens! Lady Enigma is here to..."
Her voice trailed off abruptly. Apparently the situation had already been handled. There were a few shellshocked hostages that already seemed to be accounted for and a couple of OTHER super heroes who had already seemed to have finished up the job. Her face went red with embarrasment. She'd been beaten to the chase.
"Ah-.. that is..." she forced a smile, "It seems my job has been done for me. Truly the spirit of justice is strong within this city already." she stepped forward, flashing a winning smile, "But do not fear, as a true paragon of the ways of justice I am ever faithful to this cause. I will aid the hostages in their journeys back to safety."
It wasn't the entrance she'd expected, but at least it was something.

((Like to point out that the hovel is a fair distance into the stormdrain system, so unless Lady Enigma is traveling underground through the tunnels and just randomly stumbled on this junction that was once a hang out for a gang of devil masked punks who were kicked out be religious vagrants... she's probably witnessing a zombie(Cesspit) and a gunslinger(Karma) trying(and easily succeeding) to run down a bulky dressed homeless person, not the scene of a resolved adventure. "Overpass Stormdrain Entrance" was what I called the location last.))
The overly muscled, or perhaps just overly padded, man looked for a moment like he was going to let the chunk of metal slip from his fingers for just a moment as he stopped running, but as he turned he seemed to collect himself. With a hesitant shake of his head he braced to deal with Cesspit coming at him, his grip on his tire iron tightening again.
((Technically Karma fails at this intuition check, but I'm just going to give it out anyway.))
Karma had seen this kind of thing happen before. Whoever this was, they had just been in a nasty fight, and they'd lost. Now they were running for their life, or ready to fight for their life, and her words weren't going to reach them any time soon.
((At this point is Lady Enigma going to be making her dramatic entrance?))
~~~~~~~~~Stormdrain Hovel(Still a few minutes ago, not yet synched with above ground)
"Oh..." The girl looked uncomfortable for a moment at Inferno Witches statement. "What kind of magic do you use?"
"Could you teach us?" The second girl asked. "We'd like to learn. We really would!"
The young man, who admittedly had looked a bit rough before, groaned as he was helped to his feet. He wasn't smoking any more, but shifting around had made his burn wounds crack a little. It wouldn't be much for him to start bleeding. One of the other hostages came forward to help Inferno Witch support him.
~~~~~~~~~~Residential zone running
Aeon Phoenix jogged along through the night after the powered armor villain, but after three blocked he realized that he started to realize he was tiring. He was no machine, and his quarry seemed to be. That left him with a choice... confront the villain now, or follow and hope the villains hideout is near enough that he won't be too exhausted when they reached it.
~~~~~~~~~~
((Oh, and normally I'd like to make the calls on if Cupids Charisma is enough to beat both of her parents psyche... otherwise Cupid is probably always going to win and then she's going to be a spoiled brat! ... but I did say that you could write for them. Won't be seeing Cupid again until the next morning anyway.))
The Bright Knight glared sideways at Creeper. She didn't know what a "munchkins" was, but it sounded insulting.
She looked back at the Rector. "We need to get everyone above ground. We can send the hostages home. Then we'll give the Lost Ones to the police." Carefully, she picked up the Rector, then got a good look at Creeper for the first time. "You look awful. You should see if you can find a doctor." She glanced around the cave. "Where did DarkSon go?"
Cesspit dashed to Karma's side, ready for . . . well, whatever it was they needed to be ready for. The first night back in Triumph City, and already it was one of his most confusing.
"Waitwaitwait weapons down," he motioned to Karma to lower her revolver. "This guy's hurt."
Cesspit, moving himself in front of Karma, raised open hands away from him, toward the man with the tire iron's shoulders. "Easy now . . . just drop the tire iron and take a breather . . ."
