If Common Sense tells you, you shouldn't do this, then DON'T!
Couldn't have put it better myself.
Now for the guidelines, These are -not- rules, merely things you might want to take under consideration before posting.
Do not ask for a change of subject. Changing the subject is perfectly fine, but asking is a bit stupid and most people get offended. Best way to handle it, is grab the person you last said something to, and make an offhand comment. They're sure to respond, and then even if you don't change the current on-going conversation, you have your own conversation to keep you distracted from it. That being said, multiple conversations often take place at once, and they hardly ever are about the same thing or even remotely related. If you Can't keep up, Learn to scroll Up.
Secondly, Do not lie about who you are, or where you are From. I know it's the internet, I know that some people do not like to reveal who they are, but you can never truly be anonymous in a chatroom that is modded by me. I love calling people out when they lie, but not only that, others have attempted to make up stories, and change facts about their personal life, and the members of the chat have gone out of their way to find the truth, and then rub it in their faces. After this, most people don't bother coming back. If you don't want people to know something about you, the best policy is not to tell them anything, keep your age, and your location to yourself if you wish, and any other fact you don't want them to know. However, if you lie, and they suspect even for a second that it may be untrue, they will beat it out of you till they find the truth. They've done it before, they'll do it again. I know some of you don't like this idea of being revealed to people, but this also protects you from malicious people. Such as underage girls fooling older men into something they shouldn't be doing on the internet anyway, or your Boyfriend/Creepy Friend at work, from stalking you on another name.
Last one for now, but I think this one is most Important. We are not a Twilight Chatroom, nor an Anti-Twilight Chatroom. We are a live chat for the members of TS. Which means we hardly EVER discuss twilight, unless we get a rabid fan, or a confused new member to TS asking about the site. We don't mind talking with fans and debating -sometimes- but we in no way discuss twilight all the time, and nor will we become a 24 hour anti-twilight/Twilight chat. Most of the members are there to escape from twilight with people who they've learned are sane enough to want the same thing.
With all that in Mind, just try and enjoy yourself, without getting on the other member's nerves as much as possible.
It's been around for a while, but it's tucked neatly away on the main page, so it tends to be passed up by users who only use the forum. But it's there!
For a much larger view than what the main page provides, simply go here. It's much easier.
Once there, you'll be able to register a name with Chatango, but their service is free. It's a painless process. Honest! And it's much nicer to be a registered user than being merely a guest or anon.
Now, keep in mind that there is a bit of a code of conduct. It's a few very basic rules, but nothing too outlandish. Mostly, it's geared toward ease for moderation and convenience for fellow chatters.
1. Be legible.
If you're going to try to communicate, type your damn words out. (Unless, of course, you're mocking idiots.) But y'all have no problem with this, 'cause you're awesome.
2. Don't abuse the flag system.
Chatango has a system set up so that members can flag anyone who's being a nuisance. Enough flags will put the flagged user on a temporary ban (typically lasting about fifteen minutes). This is to be rid of trolls and spammers if there's not a mod around, or if (s)he's otherwise occupied. Don't just flag someone because you don't like what they said. Flag 'em if they're being unreasonably rude or obnoxious. (Protip: Try as you might, you can't flag-ban a mod, so don't waste your effort. XD )
3. One name per member, plox.
Simply put, stick to one login ID. This is so everyone who's spoken with you will recognize you on site and so that you're known to not be a spammer. If for whatever reason you don't like the ID you'd made for yourself and want to change it, let me know. Or, more effectively, let Heartless Hippie know. He spends a vast amount of time there, so he won't be too difficult to contact.
If you DO change your name without contacting either of us, you take on the appearance of a spammer, and will be treated accordingly, so...don't do it! M'kay? T'isn't hard to stick with one ID. Srsly.
Which leads to the next one..
4. No spamming!
This should be obvious. No flooding the chat. Engaging in idle banter is not spamming.

IS spamming. As well as flooding the chat with links and images. (Which, by the way, you can post an image using the direct link or a youtube video using the appropriate URL. Just don't flood it.)
5. Also, cocks.
Be warned that the topic of conversation, for whatever reason, tends to be filled with innuendo. If "mature" topics make you edgy, do yourself a favor and don't enter the chat. If you ask politely, the other chatters might steer away from such topics, but it always comes back to it at one time or another. And there is no profanity filter, so make sure no little kids are looking over your shoulder. However, the posting of pornographic imagery isn't allowed, and falls under the spam category. Talk about sex, but for god's sake, you never know who might just happen to glance over the shoulder of another chatter, and we don't want anyone getting anyone else in IRL trouble, got it?
..and that's it, unless Heartless Hippie has more to add.
