I never really understood why people ship Neville/Luna. Like, once I think about it, it's cute, but what prompts a person to come up with that pairing on their own? Upon first glance, it seems a bit like Pair The Spares to me.

I mean, out of all of them, didn't Neville feel the most uncomfortable around her? I mean, he didn't want to be in the same compartment with her. Plus, I think it's just "Pair The Outcasts." Lame.

I'm a canon freak. But there are a few fanon ships I don't mind, like Neville/Luna.
I don't like Draco/Hermione fanfics because they usually turn Hermione into a shallow bitch. Plus I hate Draco and I don't like reading about him, so yeah.
Harry/Hermione gives me incest vibes. But it's also really obvious. Even people who haven't read HP say to me "Harry and Hermione get married! OH, SORRY, DID I SPOIL IT FOR YOU? LOL." They're obviously thinking "main guy gets with main girl"... sorry, guys, but JK is one step ahead of you there.
And I love the epilogue. Harry dying would have been so fucking stupid. "Your mother died to save you. And love is more powerful than anything else. That's what I've been saying since the first book and-- oh crap, you died! What the hell! I guess Lily didn't really love you after all."

I dunno, it's probably because I was kind of young when I read Harry Potter and wanted to pair everyone up, but it's really grown on me. I love pairings with the crazy girl and the guy who loves her because she's crazy. *shrug*

It's because neither of them are in the epilogue and they're good friends, so they must be together I don't buy any of the arguments for Harry/Hermione. It doesn't make sense in my head.

No, it's because they go together perfectly. I think it was (for me at least) at the end of the sixth book, when it said, "With a great rush of affection for both of them, Harry saw Neville being helped into a seat by Luna."

I like fanon despite it's somewhat WTF? worthy nature, I mean come on HarryxVoldemort seriously? Also I do like TonksxRemus but I still kinda ship SiriusxRemus *shot*

I liked how the movie did sorta put more hints about Ron liking Hermonie. They do feel shoe-horned compared to some of the other movies (with the exception of the previous-that-must-not-be-mention), it does make it more believable that Ron and Hermonie can become a couple

Well, it also sorta depends on the fanon for me. For example, Harry/Voldemort is REALLY wtf?, but Harry/Ron could be ok. With me, fanon is fine as long as the characters aren't too drastically OOC, and with some pairings (see above) they'd have to be. Along with that, the only two pairings I ship so strongly I'd be willing to completely break canon for them is Snape/Lily (but we all know why that one can't happen) and Neville/Luna, which doesn't even break canon if you're only looking at the books, because what's-his-face Scamander doesn't even make an appearance outside of JKR's interviews.

I like to pretend that the epilogue didn't happen and that anything could happen to the characters after their adventure. That way Fans could still have fun with it, that way most pairing ships have not been sunk because of the pairings set in stone, Adventures can be imagined, and also sort of keeps the hope alive that maybe it might be continued? I like endings like that because it fun to imagine what may happen. But it did happen so I guess Fanon.

I'm with one of the commenters, who said: I don't know whether to laugh or reach for the Brain Bleach.

I vote fanon.
I don't know how I started on this pairing, but I love it to death: Draco/Harry *waits to get pelted with stuff*
I can't help myself. I love others take on the Malfoy's and Draco/Harry really clicks in my mind as so right.
...I'm a horrible person aren't I?

*pelts with stuff but makes sure it's soft stuff* Drarry just seems so weird to me. I mean, they hate each other!
In other news... I finally got around to reading the Giant Squid/Hogwarts fic. Dear god, how perverted am I to find it funny?

I don't care that much about ships at all, but I must say I can't fucking stand Harry/Ginny. I was like...wut?? Why?
Lol, Drarry actually sounds kind of interesting.
I honestly think I prefer canon, because it's less worse than fanon. ;-;

Dear god, how perverted am I to find it funny? I dunno if Harry actually hates Draco as much as he is annoyed by his stuck up behavior. I wonder if things had been different, would Harry have been able to, I dunno make Draco a better person himself? I mean in the last book, it kind of seems like Draco never had any actual true friends. I recall Crabbe saying something like "We don't take orders from you anymore Draco, your father and you are finished." It basically screamed "We only followed you because you had control. now you're pathetic, we were never your friends." And in the beginning, Draco wanted to be Harry's friend, but we all know he gave him a bad first impression. I dunno, I've always like Drarry myself, I never knew why though. But on the subject of that fanfic, I was so....WEIRDED out, but at the same time FASCINATED at the person who'd even come up with such a funny pairing. I cracked up.
