Poe quickly grabbed something from the table before heading off, following Ryan and making certain that he didn't leave the boy and de Sade alone together.
"Nevermore!" The raven suggested from it's perch, and Poe offered it a bit of bacon.

Eulalia quickly tugged the shirt on, tossing the non-fitting one to Johanna.
"Oooh, much better!"

The path didn't warp for the trio as they left, de Sade keeping the boy close to his side (no matter how unwanted that position probably was) and pointing out various fixtures of the house, including portraits lining the walls of faceless individuals and a semi-hidden bathroom. Eventually the three would fid themselves out on the grounds, nearing de Sade's quarters and the stables.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Johanna had put on the other top, it fitting better as well.
"Good - now come on, let's get down to breakfast!"
The albino girl nodded, taking Johanna's hand and running down the stairs. She soon arrived to the dining area, looking at the meals offered this morning.
"Hmmm."
Finding her way to the dining area after sneeking in another smoke and changing into the uniforms. They were nicer than her usual rags but she felt a bit uncomfortable. Glancing about the room with Aurora in her arms she wasn't really one for meals, and especially not with groups. Melody shruggedd off the feeling to run and took a seat. Hoping to find another smoker in the house aand even mord hopeful a pack of smoke s.
After all the girls had finish breakfast, they would be sent off to work - Angel going off to assist Mary - in the gardens, with Jane. Jane passed them all pairs of gloves from a large mailbox-like case in the front, taking them into the main section of the garden before turning to them.
"So, I'll admit there's not a whole lot to do... I get very industrious when I'm bored. However, this is a perfect time to show you all the wonderful things we have in our gardens, species you won't find anywhere else in the world - to my knowledge, at least!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
De Sade, meanwhile, stood proudly in front of the stables, as if he were showing off his newborn child. He brought the two others into it after a few (rather awkward) seconds - the stables were softly lit, and surprisingly pristine. The main room was spacious, an empty cage off to one side, across from it a shelf unit jutted out from walls, separating an area filled with various strange tools. Doors went off to various places, extremely sturdy with heavy padlocks, except for one that would, assumingly, be his room. He spun around in the middle of the room, his pride bubbling forth even further.
"This is where we'll be spending much of our time today - especially with the beasts we'll be using!" Giddiness was already apparent in his voice. "It's far too dangerous to even try to take them outside, after all, they were absolute bitches to get in the first place. We can't risk them running off and causing trouble - again." His voice dropped down especially low then, glancing off to LeRennet before perking back up. "Anyway, we have to show you what they're like - they're all quite interesting, you'll find, but don't forget - dangerous."
"What if one breaks free while we're in here?"
"Never you mind, Darling - after all, I'm the strongest man here, and I've subdued them all before!" Now he was just boasting, really.

Melody set Aurora down who promptly started batting at bugs and playing through the garden.
Accepting thr gloves with a smile Melody sliped them on wiggling her fingers. Gardening she was good at, especially herb gardens. "What sort of things do you grow here?" She asked nawing on the edge of her lip.

Eulalia looked at the flowers, staring at what looked like a blood-red dandelion. "La signorina Jane? What is this flower?" She asked, "I have never seen it before."

"Quite masterful of you as always." Poe said, encouraging de Sade to continue on with his display to Ryan. There didn't seem to be anything particularly in need of his intervention, so he simply relaxed and tried to not think about where this all could go, and how many ways this could go wrong. He needed to let his mind go, let it fly on dark wings...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nevermore" The raven told Jane, watching them file into the garden area from the perch on the side of the house before it flew over their heads, circling above the grounds.
"Well, really we grow whatever was here, plus there's a certain patch for vegetables and special herbs - most of the gardens, however, are for show, but each plant has its own significance..." She glanced to where Eulalia was looking, and brightened up. "That is the Floreat Romanorum - Romance Blooms. They're the strongest component for many love potions, though I'm unsure exactly how good that claim is. However, I do know they have powerful soothing properties, so we keep them on hand as much as possible for Dr. Godwin's use."
The raven spoke up, and then a noise broke through somewhere in the forest. With a sharp frown, she only gave a small sigh - "Oh, dear..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
De Sade left the duo to stand somewhat far away as he made his way into one of the other rooms, unlocking the heavy padlock and slipping between the crack in the door. There was a high-pitched 'skree' that continued for a few seconds, even as he was dragging the creature that was inside out on a leash, paying no mind to the noise to throw it into the main cage, locking it back up. The walls shivered with the momentary panic of the other creatures beyond, this one stopping to curl into a ball in the center. It was tall - sort of, the spine on its back jutting past the skin and to a height rivaling its captor. It was thin, fleshy, with a swollen stomach and ribcage, its legs bowed almost like a frog's. Its head was not unlike a cross between a dog's and a bat's, a stubbed nose and ears laying flat against its skull as it whimpered.
De Sade moved to grab a few tools off the wall and waited for Ryan to remove his hands from his ears before continuing. "Don't mind its seemingly docile nature - this thing will tear our your throat with no second chances. Its cries are to alert others of its kind to a kill. Grab those tongs," He instructed the boy while he moved in towards the cage, clicking his tongue- without warning, the creature lunged, only to have its throat gripped by the man's fist, snapping through the bars of the cage. "Grab its tongue."
"What?"
"Grab its tongue," His voice grew sharper. "Quickly, now!"
He glanced over hurriedly to LeRennet, but did as he was instructed right as the tongue lashed out towards them, cracking like a whip in the air.

Poe very quickly stepped in, scooping the tongs up and clamping the creatures tongue between the metal pliers, likely inflicting quite a bit of pain on it.
"Faster reflexes next time Mister Stark." Poe suggested, offering him the handle of the tongs, the creatures tongue still lashing about in them as though seeking out Ryan's flesh.

Melody bobbed her head in response. Not seeing anything that needed any real tending she wondered a bit from the group. Looking at the expansive garden. Bending down she sniffed a peculiar purple flower noting it in memory.
Now to find someone to question about a pack of smokes. Trying to not appear obvious she eyed the others tying to decide who looked like a smoker as if a sign would appear on their fourhead declaring them a smoker. chuckling to herself at the idea of it beinf that easy.
The she remembered aa conversation at dinner. Didn't someone say de Sade would have cigarettes? Keeping that in her mind she went back to looking at the flowers.

The boy nodded, taking the tongs and shrinking in on himself somewhat, with murmurs of "Yes sir... sorry, sir...." De Sade glanced down at him, lingeringly blinking before crouching down to his level, voice somewhat softer despite still holding a writhing beast with one fist, dragging it down along with him.
"See those blue spots?" He motioned to those in question before resting his hand on the blonde's shoulder. Ryan nodded. "Poison sacks. Specifically, they help break down meat and flesh. The tongue itself is coated in small barbed wires - the tongs are metal, so they won't connect."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane followed after Melody, much of the group following in accordance.
"Much of this area are common plants, I'll admit," She said motioning to the likes of simple daisies and hydrangeas. In particular, at the one Melody had glanced at. "Passiflora. Lovely, isn't it?"
Johanna had rushed ahead, to a tree nearby, pulling herself up to sit on a small bridging off of two limbs.
"This'd be a good climbing tree," she mentioned offhand, before looking to the droplets hanging off of branches. "What're these? These common too?"
"Oh, no, not at all," Jane replied, coming over. "These are just what we call blood turnips - I know that's strange. But within each sprig - " she pulled one down somewhat hesitantly, crushing it in her hand. Her fingers were coated in a thick, sticky red substance. "-Is a sap that acts as synthetic blood. Fascinating, isn't it?"
Poe nodded, taking a step back so that de Sade could carry out his instructions. As long as this kind of behavior was going on he wouldn't be needed for intervention. It would be an easy dream that de Sade would simply give Ryan some confidence by training the boy how to protect himself in a fatherly manner.
The easy dreams were the ones so often crushed, so often withered, so often gone and consumed in a blaze of the harsh light of reality.
Eulalia nodded as she smelled the flower in question, smiling before hearing the sound. She turned her head, looking at the forest with a frown.
"What was that?" She mumbled to herself.
Jane glanced over, rubbing her hands on her smock. "I'm assuming Mister de Sade is wrangling a few animals... you get used to it, I'm afraid."
"...How could anyone get used to something so awful?"
~~~~~~~~~~
De Sade was, at least for the moment however, staying where he was with the boy.
"You have to be careful with anything you see here. This is one of our least dangerous beasts - and even it is far too dangerous for comfort. Let go."
In time, both let go of how they were holding the creature, which in its struggle rebounded off the cage, scampering to the middle once more. De Sade stood up then, instructing the boy back to a safe distance before opening the cage to grab it by the neck and tail, carrying it out of the main cage and back into its particular cell, locking it back in.

"Because we wouldn't let them into our bedrooms- and rightly so. We'll tear all of their terrible rooms out, once they are gone." Elinor began tidying up the playroom as Amanda followed her around. "All their rooms, and all their monsters."

Melody smiled at Jane "It's really beautiful, are we allowed to use any of the herbs or flowers in the garden?" Melody had jars of dried herbs stashes in her bag but fresh always worked better.
The mentioning of de Sade has her ears perking up. Now she had an idea where to fnd him. When to go seek him out was the real question.

Jane nodded.
"Yes, of course. Just ask me and all that - there's an overabundance of most, we should be fine." She moved in further, Johanna hopping off the tree to follow. "Oh- I will advise you, the further we get into the gardens, the stranger and more, um... violent, honestly, some of these things will be. Stay close, and stick to the path."
Said path being a dirt dug out a few inches beneath the grassy patterns of flowers and hedges.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"That'll be fun! I just hope they get out soon and don't do anything bad..." She sighed, sticking close to her sister, holding onto her blouse and biting her nails. "Sometimes, they get really scary..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
De Sade emerged from the second door, his collar over his face, taking a much quieter creature to the main cage. This was smaller than the first, but still not small by any means - probably a good eight feet long, laying close to the ground like an alligator, with small, spindly feet cropping up along its sides. There were no eyes, only a long snout that opened up like a horn, seeking around blindly. De Sade's arm went out in front of his charge.
"This is one to stay away from - you're not even dressed properly for it. It seems harmless, yes, but it can make you wish you were dead in seconds flat."
"What does it do?"
"It likes to lay its eggs in whatever or whomever it can find." He left the rest to the imagination, mindful of the grimace on the boy's face. "Hence, proper clothing." He motioned down to himself, showing off the long jacket and gloves in particular. "You see these around the school often, but not nearly so big; often they're only the size of your average bug. Those, however, are far easier to kill."
Within minutes that one was packed away again as well.

"Don't bite your nails, little one, you'll break them." Elinor put an arm around her little sister. "Now- I'll have to go for a while, so you stay in here and play. I'll come back again in a while, alright?"
Mary looked up as she heard the door to the infirmary click. She got up from her desk and came out, smiling slightly. "Ah- Angel, thank goodness you're here. There's three boxes that need unpacking just outside the storeroom- everything should go away in the clinic, through here. I'll be in there, so if you can't find where something goes, just ask." Mary wandered back into her clinic with a smile.

The little girl gave a softly disgruntled noise, jamming her hands into the pockets of her dress before her sister addressed her again. "Okay! Don't take so long!"

Angel smiled back at her, nodding before setting to work on the boxes.

"Be good, Amanda." Elinor kissed the little girl's head, before beginning to materialise again. "And put the door back!"
"Oh- I have your medications as well, Angel." Mary was prepping tools for emergency aid- she couldn't help but be concerned. "Just drop by at your usual medication times to come and take them."

Poe considered the creature that had just been brought on display. "Don't worry, you'll only wish you were dead with that one. Mary has shown she's fully able to remove the eggs... if they haven't hatched yet. With minimal repairs required. Just be sure to check over your body if you feel something insect or... larger... crawling over you."
After a moments consideration he decided to add something more. "Perhaps this warning should be spread to the girls as well before they go out into the forest."

"Let's just steer clear of them, shall we?..."
"They may be scary," Jane called back, obviously having heard them, "But I assure you - for the most part, their beauty and what good they can do makes up for all that."
~~~~~~~~~~
"Does that mean we should go tell them?" The boy asked.
"I'm quite sure that Miss Gilman will be able to keep them safe within the garden." Poe said in a manner that seemed more towards convincing himself than Ryan. And failing at that. "Yes... they certainly won't get in to any trouble this soon. You should focus on what you are being taught here, it could help you save them in the future."
Bending down to poke at a flower Melody smirked "They don't seem so scary". Though she was looking down at what looked like a daffodils she didn't figure any harm would be found.
Aurora had found a bush of mint and was happily rolling around in it.
The boy's brow furrowed while he nodded, and de Sade turned on Poe, switching back quickly to the same way he'd sounded earlier.
"You're not worried, are you, LeRennet?" He sneered.
~~~~~~~~~~
Jane glanced back with a smile.
"Some are worse than others... but it's the same with any creature, of course. Just- " She stopped as they entered into another large clearing, turning back on the girls. "Whatever you do, once you're passed here, take heed. Even the roses have tricks up their sleeves I don't fully understand, yet..."
