"My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams, this wasted land... but most of all, I remember the Road Warrior..."
Once upon a time, not too long ago, but so, so far away, there was an old world. A world powered by electric lights, and the black fuel. A world where the waters flowed freely, and the sun shone with mercy, and there was no sense in the killin' of anyfolk. Great cities stretching as far as the eye could see sprouted from the earth - with endless towers, and skyscrapers - before they were all wiped away in a flash of bright light and raging fire, for reasons long forgotten, between the squabblin' of two great warrior tribes. As the old world burned to ash and rubble, a whirlwind of looting and fear overtook the last of civilization.
On the roads, it was a white-lined nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge and brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice. In this maelstrom of death and decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed and burned.
Out from the ashes of this dead world, some have sought to exploit the chaos, with chaos of their own design. Men as heartless and cruel as the wastelands they rule, consolidating their power and exuding their will over every grain of sand in this ruined hellscape.
In the wasteland, hope is a mistake.
In the wasteland, everything hurts.
In a world that has forgotten its past, the future belongs to the MAD.

In this RP, we are road warriors, blazing across the desert in search of a full tank, a full belly, and a better tomorrow. We fall into a brand new war in the desert; a war of fear, and revving engines, and a race against time to claim a relic of a long-forgotten world...

VEHICLE STATS
In the post-apocalyptic orgy of gas and steel and rubber that is the Mad Max universe, your vehicle is an extension of yourself - you take care of it, you try to keep it from harm, and you trick it out with some crazy bullshit that makes it dope-er than hell. Like the old, trusty steeds of the Wild West or Medieval Era, your mount was an important part of your personality, your prestige, and getting from A to B quickly, and in one piece. Luckily, these things are faster than horses, and (probably) poop a lot less. And you've got a wide variety to choose from.
VEHICLE: (Optional, but recommended; choose from whatever category you'd like, and feel free to go nuts with the appearances)
SPEED: (How fast your vehicle goes; The faster you are, the faster you can run someone down... or run away from someone, if need be)
MANEUVERABILITY: (How well your vehicle handles turns, tight spaces, or other fancy flying)
DURABILITY: (How much abuse your vehicle can take and still keep going; the bigger you are, the more you can take, even without armor)
MILEAGE: (The rate at which your vehicle consumes fuel, and how much it expends; gasoline is the lifeblood of the wasteland, so the more you have, the farther you can go... but the more you'll need when you go empty)
CUSTOM: (What have you slapped on your vehicle? Sidecar? Guns? Plate armor? More guns? Turbo boost? Even more guns? Apply the statistic edits to the rest of your vehicle's profile)
VEHICLE CATEGORIES
BIKES - They might be the smallest vehicles you'll encounter, but they're some of the fastest, by themselves. Good for lone wolfing your way across the Outback, the sun at your back and survival on your mind. (4 Speed, 5 Maneuverability, 1 Durability, 4 Mileage)
COMPACTS - The smallest four wheeled automobiles, including smaller two doors, jalopies and buggies, they might not be as bold and badass as the Muscles or Roadsters, but they tend to make up for it in their flashiness and reliability; it's not about the size, mate. It's about how you use it. (3 Speed, 4 Maneuverability, 2 Durability, 3 Mileage)
MUSCLES - Some people just prefer the classics. These are the cars your dad sighs about as he scrolls through the Craigslist ads and looks at you with mild disappointment. They're bigger, and tougher, and pack one hell of a punch, but they aren't as quick as their Compact or Roadster counterparts. (3 Speed, 3 Maneuverability, 3 Durability, 3 Mileage)
ROADSTERS - This is speed. This is style. This is alpha as fuck. What they lack in durability, they make up for in speed rivaling their two wheeled cousins, and make it look even better. (4 Speed, 3 Maneuverability, 2 Durability, 3 Mileage)
TRUCKS - The workhorses. The pluggers. The get-er-done-ers of the sandy wastes. They've got more space, more durability, and more room for friends or other unpleasant surprises for anyone unfortunate enough to cross your path. The stuff the ads on TV narrated by Sam Elliott and other gruff baritones consist of. (2 Speed, 2 Maneuverability, 4 Durability, 2 Mileage)
RIGS - The big ones. The really, really big ones. The biggest ones you'll encounter. Most of them are practically rolling fortresses by themselves, but all that weight makes for one hell of a slow ride, and they suck down gasoline like mosquitoes, or that one girl you met back in Bartertown who earned her keep the hard way. (1 Speed, 2 Maneuverability, 5 Durability, 1 Mileage)
CUSTOMIZATION
It's rare to see a vehicle in the wasteland with any stock parts left clinging to the chassis. You have a multitude of custom bits to choose from, whether they be defensive (armor plating, bulletproof tires, a turbo boost) or offensive (guns, guns, guns, flamethrowers, harpoons, GUNS).
- Armor Plating (+1 Durability, -1 Speed)
- Bulletproof Tires (+1 Durability, -1 Maneuverability)
- Turbo Boost (+1 Speed, -1 Maneuverability)
- Sidecar (for Bikes, -1 Speed)
- Turret (Compacts through Trucks, whether it be a machine gun, flamethrower, harpoon gun, whatever you wanna throw at fuckers in your way, -1 Maneuverability; Rigs can have up to two without penalty)
- Spike Strip Deployer (-1 Speed)
- Oil Slick (-Maneuverability)
- Boarding Plank (Compacts, through Roadsters, -1 Maneuverability; Trucks and Rigs can have up to two without penalty)
- Battering Ram (+1 Durability, -1 Maneuverability)
- Tow Cable (+Durability, -Speed)
- Elevated Suspension (+1 Maneuverability, -1 Durability)
- Lowered Suspension (+1 Speed, -1 Maneuverability)
Anything else you can think of? Write it in, lemme know, we'll see how it goes!
FACTIONS
Not every road warrior wanders alone. Some have formed gangs, even armies, to have their backs, and fight for supremacy over the wasteland. Each group is a unique, special grain of sand in its own way, and come with certain perks otherwise not afforded to the common rabble.
The Free Furies - led by Imperator Furiosa, the Free Furies are probably the largest gang left standing in the wasteland, though probably the most divided, as well. Since the death of Immortan Joe, Furiosa has presided over the Citadel, taking charge by right of conquest after defeating most of the War Boys' standing army. By her will, there's been a great deal of change and reform that has shaken the Citadel to its foundations; the countless wives of Immortan Joe have been freed from their servitude, water runs freely from the underground lake-circulated taps (with some moderation), and the massive divide between men and women of their settlement has been... well, addressed, at least. Former War Boys and newly-trained warrior wives fight alongside each other in the wastes as the Free Furies, so that's something. Meanwhile, many War Boys, still fanatically dedicated to their slain god-king, have fled the Citadel in disgust and dishonor, marauding their former home at every opportunity, while relations between Gas Town and the Bullet Farm have become decidedly colder...

The War Boys - Once the warrior-elite of Immortan Joe's army, the War Boys were born and raised to worship and revere their god-king without question or even self-preservation, fighting and dying for the chance to live again in Valhalla alongside their glorious leader. They've been dealt a terrible, God-smacking blow with the death of Immortan Joe at the hands of the traitorous Imperator Furiosa, and her man-hating, whore-wrought ideas of the future for the Citadel make them sick - fuck the traitors, fuck the wives, they live and die for Immortan Joe, may he forever ride into the horizon, shiny and chrome. They take the death of Immortan Joe, a god made flesh, as a sign of the coming end times - Ragna Rock. The majority of War Boys suffer from terminal afflictions - oftentimes leukemia, or other forms of radiation-wrought cancer - and live short lives.

The Ironbars - the Ironbars are one of the most varied forces in the wasteland today, and one of the fastest-growing. Once, they were the muscle behind the trading outpost known as Bartertown, home of the infamous Thunderdome arena, nearly destroyed by a meddling road warrior. But, under the guidance of Auntie Entity, Bartertown was rebuilt, bigger and badder than it was before. From a remote market settlement, Bartertown became a vastly influential center of commerce and trade in the wasteland, with the Ironbars as its greatly-expanded fist, named after their first commander.

The Rock Riders - The Rock Riders are a smaller bandit group that has taken residence in the canyons to the east of the Citadel, carving up the desert cliffs with supercharged bikes and some badass stunts. Without the fear of Immortan Joe to keep them at bay, as well as some added resentment for Imperator Furiosa's new leadership at the Citadel, the Rock Riders have also expanded in numbers and influence, controlling the entire mountainous canyon expanse stretching further east.

The Buzzards - The Buzzards are a Russian-speaking group of bandits of Russian descent, living in underground burrows in the desert wastes bordering the Citadel. Once regarded as the 'lowest common denominator' in the wasteland, they too have benefited from Immortan Joe's demise, and have expanded their influence to maraud the Citadel and Gas Town. They are not known to scavenge, and care little for the preservation of any semblance of order.

The Khmer Noir - The Black Kampucheans - otherwise known as the Khmer Noir - represent the unified remnant of Australia's once sizable immigrant population, originating from Southeast Asia. Before the fall, thousands upon thousands of refugees made their way by sea and air to find hope of a better tomorrow - whether they were shot down, sunk in the ocean, or made it to shore, there was little hope left to find. They have since united a great deal of the Asian population left in the wasteland, clinging to the history and culture of a world gone by as they seek to stand for themselves, an autonomous people.

The History Men - The History Men are probably the least militant of the factions rearing their heads in the wasteland, standing for the return and preservation of the long forgotten old world, and to ensure that the horrors of the past do not further scar the future. This, however, does not mean they will not defend themselves, and they do have a paramilitary arm ready to protect what knowledge of the world before the fall is left, by any means necessary.
