"You guys are funny, actually thinking you can kill Deadpool." Brianna said. "By the way, actually STAB someone next time you wanna do that. Otherwise, you're just following your bonking animation. That, and don't use a stick, idiot." She added towards...Marach? Malak? Who cares? "And, if you want a cheap shot done right, Ardent, do it like this!" She quickly flung her sword at Ratio. "Yeah, that's not landing." Brandon said.

Ratio smirked, "It's because I'm about twice your age and twice your size." he said smugly, giving the boy a little kick, "You really don't have much room here."
Ratio whipped around as he saw the sword hurtling towards him. He reacted immediately, countering with his own. The spell embedded in his blade sawed through the weapon like butter and left it in two halves.
"Razing spell." Ratio explained, "the edges of this sword are magically tempered. They can literally slice through anything given the proper angel and the right amount of force." he smiled, "Would you like to test it?"

"DO I!? That thing's practically a lightsaber! I wanna try!" Brianna said, giddy as a schoolgirl. "Called it." Brandon said, his bet that the attack would miss totally right.

Ardent almost fell backwards but caught himself. He glared at Ratio and retreated, muttering insults.

"Okay, let's get back to questions now before this becomes a horrible fight..." Twili suggested. "Oh, like every other topic we've been in?" Brianna noted. "That...might not be likely." She added, smiling. "So...Pichu, how did you get the inspiration for so many characters?" Twili asked.

"Inspiration?" Ratio snorted, "Is that what you call it these days?"
I sighed, "It's not that he's the only character I write for. He's just the most outspoken."
"I'm outspoken too!" Maric protested.
"But I've got more important things to say." Ratio replied shoving Maric out of the way so that the boy conveniently toppled over onto Ardent. He smiled contentedly.
I sighed, "Alright, let's see, how did I spawn all of these monstrosities?" I looked around the room, "It's not like I sat down and thought all of these guys up all at once. They each came up, some from necessity, some through a back story, some just because they seemed to fit. Shane, Maric, Stephon and Celeste were the originals, but I wanted each of them to have a good backstory. Almost all the other characters in the story are in some way spawned off of one of them. For Shane, I wanted a little angst, so I made him a bad mage, looking up to his father who was a very good mage. So I made Wyatt (who's character I didn't really refine until much later on. For a while, he was just a backstory sue). I also wanted Shane to be mixed up in a lot of controversy so I made up the Brotherhood. They needed a leader, so I came up with Clayton Vartle and his little sister Tori, who was friends with Shane, and to fill out the group a little more, I came up with the twins Aye and Sian Fisher who had conflicting personalities but were both very good with magic. Their father would later be the illusionist, Lazarus.
"Then there was Stephon, who was just a noble in the beginning. I wanted a little bit of drama with him, so I gave him a jealous younger brother named Talon. Talon was so jealous because he was getting cheated on his inheritance, because Stephon wasn't really his father's son at all. He was the son of two mages, Clefina (and someone else. Lazarus maybe. Or just someone else because Lazarus is.. you know..), and I wanted him to have some sort of ties, so I made him, in reality, the brother of Tori and Clayton Vartle, his real name, Elias Vartle.
Then came Maric, the main character of the second half who's only living relative was his uncle, Rachen. Rachen had strong ties to the Brotherhood and to Shane's father, Wyatt and he had a small family of his own (mostly minor characters who die before the beginning)
And lastly Celeste only has ties to a blind healer named Xavier who was her childhood friend.
Then I figured I wanted to flesh out Wyatt's backstory, so I started coming up with new characters for that. I needed someone to be the leader, thus I created Ratio (literally, I asked for a good name for a leader. Someone said Horatio and I ran with it. XD) and a future wife for Wyatt, Averis. Then I decided that Ratio needed a foil, and created Seven to counter balance Ratio's personality.
After that they all just kind of developed their own personalities. They're still developing now too. It's wasn't inspiration, as much as necessity." I smiled nodding, "did you get all that?"

"Got it." Twili said, finishing up the last note that was said on a convenient notepad. "Wow, talk about a Handy Dandy Notebook." Brianna said, netting Brandon another self-inflicted facepalm. "I'm gonna hurt my head with all of these...but, wow. That was very interesting. More necessity than inspiration, huh..." Brandon said. "Hey, care to explain our story, bro? We might as well." Brianna suggested. "This is already fascinating, Brandon. It'd be a good idea to get all of this out there." Twili encouraged him. "Very well..." Brandon said, taking a deep breath.
"Well, of course you know I'm the token self-insert of the author, no surprises there. But, being the one actually doing all this stuff does make me quite different from him in the long run. A bit more of an over-protective urge to keep my friends safe, and a more adventurous personality. However, I still contain my naivete about many a topic when I think I really understand it when I don't. Your good friend Lazarus helped make a mind illusion that caused me to address that."
He pointed at Twili next. "She's...an interesting one, at that. Our author can admit she's more inspiration than anything else. You see, once upon a time-" "-Three to four years ago hardly counts as that, to be honest." Twili interrupted. "Very well, simply few years ago then. Back then, our author found what would be your run-of-the-mill self-insert Zelda fanfic. With Jordan, aka Twili, being said insert, with her older sister turned fairy Christina. Because it was an early exposure to this kind of fanfic, Skyblade blindly really liked it without giving it a second thought. He'd wanted to get some kind of strange combo-fic idea going...which was a retarded idea to being with, but by the time he thought of it, the fic was practically wiped from the face of the Net. Never to be seen again. Plus, he's forgotten the original Twili's true appearance and backstory, save for the older sister. So, he made a new one, somewhat from scratch. By 'somewhat from scratch', I mean way too similar to Tifa Lockhart for his own good." "Oddly enough, I never even made a comment about that..." Twili said to herself.
"Now...for her." Brandon pointed at Brianna. "Stop one moment. Didn't we already give our total backstory in the original version of OUR topic?" Brianna reminded. "A refresher course wouldn't hurt. Now then...honestly, I don't know what exactly came over our creator to make her in the first place. I've completely forgotten. Anyway...since Twili is mainly a more subtle counter-balance to me, he figured that Brianna would make a good obvious one. One that...well, quite literally, gets right in your face and goes 'I may be a clone, but I'm DEFINITELY nothing like him!'" "OH, ooh ooh! I remember what first got me as an idea!" Brianna shouted, raising her hand as if she were a student in a classroom. "...Go on." Brandon said. "It was a series of dreams that we had before...well, our creator did. First, it was like he could switch between being himself and a female version of himself. Think Ranma 1/2, but he could switch without water...and without even knowing who Ranma was at the time. Then, he had a dream that he was getting a new baby sister. Naturally, it ended before said kid was BORN, so he ended up constantly wanting one in real life. Then, he thought 'Well, what if that sister from my other dream was exactly like what I turned into before?' Hence...ME!" Brianna explained.
Brandon nodded, everything about that coming back to him. "Any questions?" He asked.
((Yeah...I have STRANGE inspirations. But hey, all those characters that didn't need inspiring on your side, holy cow, Pichu. That needs a cookie. A BIG cookie.*gives*))

Ratio blinked a few times, "So, isn't that technically stealing?" he asked.
"Just about as much as we stole from the first final fantasy." Maric pointed out, "The whole... a bunch of people in a quazi medieval setting with swords and a kingdom by the sea and... yeah." he blinked, "There really wasn't all that much to take was there?"
"Red mage idea." Stephon pointed out.
"Eragon?" Maric offered.
"You see the difference between you and Eragon is that he didn't fail at everything he tried to do." Stephon pointed out, "He also didn't try to claw his eyes out when his uncle died."
"Not my fault. It was a knee jerk reaction." Maric cried.
"To claw your eyes out?"
"More like eye jerk." Celeste chuckled.
"Alright enough." I sighed, "You see, this is what happens when you leave them alone." I shrugged, "The cast is a little small, but other characters pop up with time, and with necessity. Lazarus is only about six months old I think. I gave him a test drive on the RP topic and the character worked, so now he's permanent. I think he flows."
"You seem to like creating smug bastards." Lazarus grinned jesturing to Ratio, Talon, Sian and Antoine.
I shrugged, "It works doesn't it?"

((Blah blah blah colors, blah blah blah the colors are so briiiiiiiight~ *record scratch* Uh, nothing.)) I'd...call it adapting something who's source has disappeared.Just admit it and call it stealing. I don't mind.Think of it this way. It's PICHU'S topic, of all places! Get your ass in here!I'll take the safety of being behind a screen, thanks. You suck! Hey, you were thankful to be in my dream and now you're pulling that?
