While I was on camp one of the staff handed us star maps, and then I overheard this and thought it was fucking gold. XD

"As for the idea that mumbo jumbo "religions" such as islam, sikhism, judaism, etc should be given equal status to Christianity, that just beats me. If they want status they should go back to where they came from and see what these "religions" have achieved compared with Christianity."
I mean clearly they're so mumbo jumbo that they don't even deserve capital letters

And he should see what Christianity did to other religions...and cultures...and countries....He so batshit he talks about Sikhism, I can understand talking about Judaism and Islam because some people are very anti-Semitic and/or Islamoophobic, obviously that's wrong but it's unfortunately common, but I have heard a long list of prejudices in my life, I have never heard anyone be prejudiced against Sikhism. That is the sign of someone who is really a bit mental.

I heard a girl in my U.S. History class at my COLLEGE ask "Why did we ever let the other countries exist?". No kidding. She actually asked this, right around the time that we went over the Revolution. I have a newsflash for this girl, we had enough issues of our own without fighting every Tom, Dick and Harry country in the world. We went through the Articles of Confederation, Creating the Constitution, and having to deal with Rhode Island fucking every small decision all to hell. WHY would we WANT fight everyone. We needed allies, not enemies! We had $12 million in foreign debt, which we owed to France while they were in a revolution of their own! The history book was only like 200 pages long! There is no excuse for you not knowing things like this!

So there are these dream interpreters who come from a local Christian church around the college campus I go to. I let them interpret a dream I had the night before and this sums up the reaction they had . . . Person: The dream means you're dabbling in something you know is dangerous. The fact that you had relatives in the dream means that the problem is coming from your family. It's a curse coming from past generations of your family. Me: wut . . . Explain what you mean by "curse." Person: Well, a curse is a manifestation of the sin one of your ancestors. If it isn't forgiven by the Lord, it passes down the family and can appear like a physical disability or a mental problem. Me: Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. You're telling me . . . that physical and mental disabilities . . . are the manifestations of some person in your family's sin. Person: That's right. Me: HOW. It could be genetic and no one's fault! Person: How do you think it gets in the genes? Funny. I don't remember learning that detail in church.

This is a fairly old one, but I love it simply because of Jon Stewart's reaction:

I used to know a chick that believed she had a real life werewolf friend that no one else could see, and that he sleeped in her stomach and made love to her at night.
She also thought that vampires were real, and had a crush on me because she genuinely believed I was a vampire. :l

On the note of David Silverman's face:
O'Reilly: We don't know why the tides go in and the tides go out and you guys can't explain it.
He's said this more than once, despite being corrected by Richard Dawkins AND David Silverman. Yeesh.

A Star Trek Next Generation ad here in Australia that turned Picard into a taco lover and gave everyone else horribly done voices.

"Tea is so gross!! It's, like, dust in baggies. Who wants to drink that?"
Well, not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but I would've assumed more people would know about loose leaf tea and its glory.

"Thatcher saved us from joining the Soviet Union"
yeah I mean my mother used to write to Callaghan and he'd reply and every one was filled with his secret plans to join the Soviet Union, and Michael Foot was literally Stalin, it's safe to say that now he's dead, isn't it?
