"All Scottish people are Catholic."
Told to me very matter-of-factly by a certain brain-dead cow who seemed to forget the fact that I'd been dating a Scotsman (and had actually visited Scotland twice) for about, ohhh, the past eight years.
The only retort I wanted to give was, "Don't let the Protestants know."

I always had an issue with "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles. I guess their songwriter wasn't familiar with Maslow.

OMG another one! A kid at the middle school in my school district tried to argue with a history teacher that catholicism isnt part of christiantiy. CATHOLICISM IS THE BASE FOR ALL TYPES OF CHRISTIANITY RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, not to be a correction Nazi, but Catholicism is not in fact the original Christianity. All this shit in a nutshell (if I get something wrong, feel free to correct me): Originally, there was just Christianity in the western and eastern parts of the Roman Empire. The western part of the Roman Empire's Christian peeps did not like the way the eastern peeps did things (icons and all), so they split and became the Roman Catholic Church, while the eastern peeps became the Orthodox Church. So if you want to be technical, the Orthodox Christians are the originals. Peeps always forget about them.

Sort of. Yes, there was just "Christianity" in the beginning. In each area, there was a central church established. The individual head of that church became the figurehead for that region. Over time, the churches in the western part of the Roman Empire became subservient to the church in Rome, while those in the eastern part remained pretty much independent (although allied). So, to be more technical, neither was the original, but different interpretations of the original. >.> The general idea behind unifying under Rome was both to try to keep everyone in agreement (which turned out to be impossible) and because Rome was also the center of political power. The eastern region broke away from the empire, and thus the churches remained independent from the church in Rome. They've never seen eye-to-eye since. I don't really know if any of the denominations that exist today really reflect the original, but it's pretty likely that they all contain some elements of it (likely different elements than one another, too).

O.O What the fucking fuck? Has this man ever seen Yaya Dacosta? Or Naomie Harris? Paula Patton? I could name women all day. Even so, this IS the type of rhetoric that leads into dangerous territory. Fucking dumbass.

THIS THREAD.... THE FAIL! ITS BURNS!!! I've got one though. I got into an argument with my mom and sister. They kept saying that the reason transgendered people want to change their gender is because they want to be with people of the same gender without being called gay. This summarizes my reaction: i9.photobucket.com/albums/a99/nippinaintez/Blogspot/HighlyIllogical.jpg

After reading those Failbook entries, you'll find me in a cold bath that's half-full, with all my clothes on, with my head in my hands.
