Okay, so I'm writing this novel, which I know takes several years. And I just finished the plot but it still has quite a few kinks.
One of them has this deus ex machina, and I'm trying to work my way around it. It involves finding out a character actually has a twin sister, but I don't know how to do it without making it sound like an asspull.
I tried mentioning her earlier in the story, would that help? I'm also thinking about introducing her, but I'm not sure.

Maybe you could drop hints about her throughout your story? Or you could show her POV or show her from another person's POV.

Excellent Suggestion, you could also mislead the audience by telling them that the character has an older or younger sister, and have the twin be a friend of the character, but no one realizes they're siblings because they're the same age, until you drop the bomb and reveal it's because they're twins.

Good suggestions, guys. Thank you!
I think I'll drop a few hints here and there, and introduce the twin then.
