I'm not sure he would have a particular or unique scent. Consider the fact that as a meyerpire, he's bone dry. There's not a drop of water in him. That being said, he doesn't sweat to stabilize his body temperature, so he's not going to get a smell that way. He also would have less of a reason to bathe. I mean, it's not for sanitation. Without water, no germs could bother his body. The only reason he would need to bathe would be to clean off water stuff he got on him via hunting or whatever else (I imagine that if Rosalie works on cars a lot then she might get oil and other things on her, so there's a reason to shower). So maybe he might smell like blood after hunting, but other than that...I guess he would smell like whatever he used to clean the dirt off his skin, if water wasn't enough I mean. And if he did use something with a scent to clean himself, it wouldn't be something too strong with his heightened sense of smell. If it were too strong it would be irritating. I’m writing him as a villain, is there anything that “Smells like death”? If Not I’ll just say he smells like bleach.

Yeah, I’m writing this from a realistic perspective. what are some good Sickly-sweet smells then? Decaying flowers might be your best bet. Rot and decay in general tends to add this weird, almost sweet smell, though it makes you gag at the same time. Rotting fruit would probably work too. I've noticed that when mangoes are over-ripe they get that sickly-sweet scent, it's quite powerful too as mangoes are a pretty fragrant fruit in general. Apparently, and this comes from people who work in the medical field, death has a sickly sweet smell. A sweet yet pungent scent. Certain illness cause someone to have a sickly sweet smell, supposedly certain stomach ailments will cause someone's breath to smell overwhelmingly sweet, almost like honey.

So after much debate, I’ve decided he should smell like Honey... and benzene. Is this okay or does the benzene addition seem weird?

You know that old saying “Religion is the Opium of the people” well, what’s the Opposite of Opium? If I can’t find a perfect opposite, is there anything that destroys the Opium poppy while it’s growing, or even in seed?

This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible to get a serious head injury, like a concussion, and not be knocked out cold?
@ stormcat. Maybe snow? As a reference to the wizard of oz, when the poppies were defeated with snow? That's all I can think of...

Lots of people suffer concussions without blacking out (of course if they “survive” and try to take a nap, they might not wake up) The Only problem I have with the snow symbol is that it’s White. White tends to denote purity, which is a big factor in religion. The “Anti-Poppy” symbol is going to be used by a group of Atheists in reference to the Opium Quote.

I believe it also has hallucinogenic properties, but basically it's another way to feel numb, similar to morphine. Opium is also where Heroin is derived from. So basically the direct opposite of a downer would be an upper, a stimulant drug of sorts. Cocaine might be a good one. I'm not sure about destroying opium poppies, I know that there are planes that fly by and spray chemicals on supposed poppy fields, I'm assuming some sort of plant killer in our never-ending war on drugs.

I did a bit of reading, and apparently poppies are very resilient against pests and diseases...

So far this seems to be the case. :’( But I looked up where Opium Poppies are grown, Mostly in the Middle east and around Myanmar, aren’t there animals there who will destroy the crop? Edit: though now that I think about it, the plant has a dual personality. Sure you could become addicted to it, but you can also derive the most powerful painkiller known to man, I’m sure that’s saved lots of people in hospitals. Maybe something to explain the dual nature?

Well since the popp thing didn't pan out, I have a new idea.
The villains of my story hate color in all forms, they want everything to be white. Well, the opposite of monochrome is rainbow! and what's better at turning white into rainbows than a prism? And now a few questions regarding optics:
-What should a prism be made of to ensure the best rainbow? -does it need to be a particular shape or just smooth? -which would have a more symbolic effect, one big rainbow or lots of tiny ones?

I think a large one would be more 'symbolic' of something of power.

Okay I have another question... would it be scientifically possible to alter the air pressure inside someone, to cause decompression sickness? Basically if the pressure change only happened with the air inside the body, could it still cause someone to be knocked out? I've never heard of anyone trying that much less what the effects would be. Decompression sickness is usually a result of outside pressure and not internal.

So my main bad guy has finally secured the optimum power in Finland, and he wants countries to have their countrymen specifically (so all Brits in Britain, all Chinese in China, that kind of deal)
How do I get it to this state without copping out and ass-pulling?

See, this is why I asked for “One big rainbow or lots of little rainbows” The prisms which give one big rainbow are smooth with simple shapes, but the ones which make lots of little rainbows are multi-faceted. Just look at any rhinestone. The reason I ask this is because members of the resistance movement are gonna wear these prisms in necklaces. Which would be more stylish?

Did you have a particular query? Just how it is compared to American gambling... Is there any place in east Asia roughly equivalent to VEgas in terms of gambling? The largest legal gambling area in east asia is Macau in Taipei, Taiwan and it is very much like Vegas with 41 operating Casinos both domestically and foreign owned. North and South Korea, Mongolia, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam also have casino businesses with Japan being the runner up after Taiwan. Note that Macau is the ONLY place in China that gambling is legal. In terms of laws I'm not clear about who has a more strict approach. Cheating, money laundering, scamming, and illegal gambling is prevelant in the asian gaming business as much as it is in the western world. Collaboration with foreigners has made both sides rub off on each other and made gambling laws stronger. As for games traditional games like fan-tan and newer western games like texas hold'em can be found.

Macau is the only thing I could come up with myself. So I'll probably use that as my model.
I have another question. What sort of drugs have "boosting aggression" as a major side effect? They can be either legal or illegal, it really doesn't matter.

Testosterone, cocaine, fluoxetine, methylphenidate (you know it as Ritalin), amphetamines, methamphetamines, and some hypnotic drugs like ramelteon or eszopiclone (they cause paradoxical hyperexcitability). Just a brief list of medications realy.

The only one of those that really fits what I'm looking for is testosterone. But the one being subjected to these drugs is female, and I know what heavy amounts of testosterone does to women. I think I'm better off keeping the drug unnamed and vague. Thanks though. =D

So here goes. I have a resistance movement. To identify each other, each member wears a necklace with a pendant made from the crystals of a famous chandelier destroyed by the organization they are opposing. The reason the chandelier was famous is because it was not only GIGANTIC, but it's crystals were all shaped like this: Now I need to do a little backpedaling and come up with a symbolic meaning behind the crystals. Any ideas?

What traditions do Romani (Gypsy) families have for funerals and/or looking after their dead? More specifically, I'm looking for the traditions of nomadic tribes, if applicable.
