Welcome to to scenic Costa Amoure. A mid sized town somewhere on the northern coast of the United States. Recently, or at least within the last seventy five years, renamed in order to attract more tourism, the town is known for it's beautiful beach vistas, large dune tracts, and lush forests and beautiful mountain views. It would be a wonderful spot for vacationing, camping, hiking, fishing(both sea and river), or just playing on the beach... if it wasn't nearly always cold and wet. While the few clear days do showcase how lovely the area is, most of the time rain or fog dims the view, and overcast skies are the standard.
The town itself is just big enough not to be feel like a city, but still have most all the amenities of a larger metropolis, and of course a large section devoted entirely to tourism. Despite that, most of the town is still a quiet place, where one would think to go to retire.
Unbeknownst to most of the cities population, and the world as a whole, the town has an impressively high population of creatures that are... not human. Finding a sasquatch as one of the local stat park employees would not be unusual, vampires, zoothropes, succubus and other such creatures live and work and prey throughout the area, and at least one Huldre breed of troll has found herself employment on the local police force.
This gives the otherwise anti-social monsters a place where they can meet their own kind, to interact with peers. This has lead to rough transitions for some, and a strict set of rules, mostly common courtesy, have been developed to regulate their behavior. Anyone stepping outside these boundaries endangers the fragile 'society' of supernatural creatures, and as such is likely to bring a hostile response. An organized hostile response. Something very rarely seen in this world outside of certain fae kingdoms or ancestral holdings. In short, this place is a democratic, perhaps even communist, gathering of creatures beyond the imaginations of mere mortals.
The reason for them organizing and gathering like this however, is the yearning that is all too human. They seek companionship. Romance. Love. An even more difficult challenge for an immortal to engage in than their solitary lives could offer.

Before this starts up I'll need at least two confirmed players. More would be nice. You can play as many characters as you want, though I ask that they be "original" characters(the characters history must be reset to conform to this setting).
Character write ups can fit anything you want. The basics would be:
Player Name:
Character name(s):
Characters usual appearance:
Additional required information on the character:
Keep it brief, but these will be used as a short hand for when your character is being referred to by other players, so descriptive helps. You can make multiple bullet points for the additional information(dietary concerns, special powers, special weaknesses, etc) as needed.
And yes, you can(in fact I encourage) playing normal humans who happen to stumble into the hidden society. A girl who falls for the hot vampire boy she saw working at the coffee shop one night, or similar. I would ask however that you restrict yourself to "classic monsters" rather than making something up on the spot, or re-envisioning something called a vampire until it has no fangs, reads minds, runs at mach speed, and sparkles in sunlight. Anything seen in fairy tales, folk lore, classical literature, or classic cinema is fine, but if it leaves other players asking WTF? you might be asked to cite your sources.
